Xception-Fractalnet:Hybrid Deep Learning Based Multi-Class Classification of Alzheimer’s Disease

Neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease(AD)are very challenging to treat due to their sensitivity,technical challenges during surgery,and high *** complexity of the brain structures makes it difficult to distinguish between the various brain tissues and categorize AD using conventional classification ***,conventional approaches take a lot of time and might not always be ***,a suitable classification framework with brain imaging may produce more accurate findings for early diagnosis of *** in this paper,an effective hybrid Xception and Fractalnet-based deep learning framework are implemented to classify the stages of AD into five ***,a network based on Unet++is built to segment the tissues of the ***,using the segmented tissue components as input,the Xception-based deep learning technique is employed to extract high-level ***,the optimized Fractalnet framework is used to categorize the disease condition using the acquired *** proposed strategy is tested on the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative(ADNI)dataset that accurately segments brain tissues with a 98.45%of dice similarity coefficient(DsC).Additionally,for themulticlass classification of AD,the suggested technique obtains an accuracy of 99.06%.Moreover,ANOVA statistical analysis is also used to evaluate if the groups are significant or *** findings show that the suggested model outperforms various stateof-the-art methods in terms of several performance metrics.

In marker-assisted breeding for bacterial blight(BB) resistance in rice, three major resistance genes, viz., Xa21, xa13 and xa5, are routinely deployed either singly or in combinations. As efficient and functional markers are yet to be developed for xa13 and xa5, we have developed simple PCR-based functional markers for both the genes. For xa13, we designed a functional PCR-based marker, xa13-prom targeting the In Del polymorphism in the promoter of candidate gene Os8N3 located on chromosome 8 of rice. With respect to xa5, a multiplex-PCR based functional marker system, named xa5 FM, consisting of two sets of primer pairs targeting the 2-bp functional nucleotide polymorphism in the exon II of the gene TFIIA5(candidate for xa5), has been developed. Both xa13-prom and xa5 FM can differentiate the resistant and susceptible alleles for xa13 and xa5, respectively, in a co-dominant fashion. Using these two functional markers along with the already reported functional PCR-based marker for Xa21(p TA248), we designed a single-tube multiplex PCR based assay for simultaneous detection of all the three major resistance genes and demonstrated the utility of the multiplex marker system in a segregating population.

Novel biocompatible and brush copolymers have been developed for cancer treatment using its controlled drug-release *** graft on linear dextrin has been synthesized to control the hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance for regulated drug *** properties of the graft copolymers have been tuned through graft *** prepared grafts are thermally stable and mechanically *** injectable hydrogel has been developed by embedding the drug-loaded brush copolymers in methyl cellulose to better control the release for a prolonged period,importantly by keeping the drug release at a constant *** studies indicate the biocompatible nature of the brush copolymers whose controlled and slow release of drug exhibit significant cytotoxic effects on cancer *** of drug tagged contrast agent indicates greater transport of biologically active material inside cell as observed through cellular uptake *** vivo studies on melanoma mice exhibit the real efficacy of the controlled drug release from the injectable hydrogel with significant melanoma suppression without any side effects as opposed to severe toxic effects observed in conventional *** application method of drug-loaded hydrogel just beneath the tumor makes this system incredibly effective through ***,brush copolymer injectable hydrogel is a promising vehicle for control release of drug for cancer treatment in future.

There is a growing awareness among industry players of reaping the benefits of mobile-cloud convergence by extending today's unmodified cloud to a decentralized two-level cloud-cloudlet architecture based on emerging mobile-edge computing(MEC) capabilities. In light of future 5G mobile networks moving toward decentralization based on cloudlets, intelligent base stations, and MEC, the inherent distributed processing and storage capabilities of radio-and-fiber(R&F) networks may be exploited for new applications, e.g., cognitive assistance, augmented reality, or cloud robotics. In this paper, we first revisit fiber-wireless(Fi Wi) networks in the context of conventional clouds and emerging cloudlets, thereby highlighting the limitations of conventional radio-overfiber(Ro F) networks such as China Mobile's centralized cloud radio access network(C-RAN) to meet the aforementioned trends. Furthermore, we pay close attention to the specific design challenges of data center networks and revisit our switchless arrayedwaveguide grating(AWG) based network with efficient support of east-west flows and enhanced scalability.

Identification of parameter to assess cracking resistance of asphalt mixtures subjected to aging and moisture conditioning

This study comprehensively evaluated different parameters based on tensile strength testing to assess the cracking resistance of asphalt mixtures subjected to aging and moisture *** this purpose,two sources of aggregates were selected to produce hot and warm mix asphalt *** mixtures were subjected to short term and long term aging,three levels of moisture conditioning(freeze thaw cycles),and tested at two temperatures(15℃and 25℃).The load-displacement data was used to determine the fracture work density,fracture energy,toughness index,cracking resistance index,cracking tolerance index,and rate dependent cracking *** was noticed that moisture conditioning increased the variability of the different *** cracking tolerance index and rate dependent cracking index parameter had a much higher coefficient of variation(Co V)with a maximum value close to 50%.Indirect tensile strength,fracture energy,and fracture work density appropriately captured the effect of moisture on cracking resistance of *** cracking resistance index,cracking tolerance index,and rate dependent cracking index increased with an increase in the moisture conditioning *** statistical analysis showed that tensile strength,fracture work density,and fracture energy were significantly influenced by different aging and moisture conditions *** energy showed better association with fatigue life of asphalt mixtures subjected to three freeze-thaw cycles compared to tensile ***,the fatigue life prediction models showed that both indirect tensile strength and fracture energy significantly influence the fatigue life of asphalt mixtures subjected to aging and moisture conditioning.

Optimization of Groundwater Level Monitoring Network Using GIs-based Geostatistical Method and Multi-parameter Analysis:A Case study in Wainganga sub-basin,India

Groundwater is one of the most important resources, its monitoring and optimized management has now become the priority to satisfy the demand of rapidly increasing population. In many developing countries, optimized groundwater level monitoring networks are rarely designed to build up a strong groundwater level data base, and to reduce operation time and cost. The paper presents application of geostatistical method to optimize existing network of observation wells for 18 sub-watersheds within the Wainganga sub-basin located in the central part of India. The average groundwater level fluctuation(GWLF) from 37 observation wells is compared with parameters like lineament density, recharge, density of irrigation wells, land use and hydrogeology(LiRDLH) of Wainganga sub-basin and analyzed stochastically in Geographic Information system(GIs) environment using simple, ordinary, disjunctive and universal kriging methods. semivariogram analyses have been performed separately for all kriging methods to fit the best theoretical model with experimental model. Results from gaussian, spherical, exponential and circular theoretical models were compared with those of experimental models obtained from the groundwater level data. spatial analyses conclude that the exponential semivariogram model obtained from ordinary kriging gives the best fit model. study demonstrates that ordinary kriging gives the optimal solution and additional number of observation wells can be added utilizing the error variance for optimal design of groundwater level monitoring networks. This study describes the use of Geostatistics methods in GIs to predict the groundwater level and upgrade groundwater level monitoring networks from the randomly distributed observation wells considering multiple parameters such as GWLF and LiRDLH. Good nutrition plays a crucial role in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. The beneficial effects of nutrition have been found to counteract nutritional disturbances with the expanded use of nutraceuticals to treat and manage cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other developmental defects over the last decade. Flavonoids are found abundantly in plant-derived foods such as fruits, vegetables, tea, cocoa, and wine. Fruits and vegetables contain phytochemicals like flavonoids, phenolics, alkaloids, saponins, and terpenoids. Flavonoids can act as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-microbial(antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral) antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-diarrheal agents. Flavonoids are also reported to upregulate apoptotic activity in several cancers such as hepatic, pancreatic, breast, esophageal, and colon. Myricetin is a flavonol which is naturally present in fruits and vegetables and has shown possible nutraceutical value. Myricetin has been portrayed as a potent nutraceutical that may protect against cancer. The focus of the present review is to present an updated account of studies demonstrating the anticancer potential of myricetin and the molecular mechanisms involved therein. A better understanding of the molecular mechanism(s) underlying its anticancer activity would eventually help in its development as a novel anticancer nutraceutical having minimal side effects.
