Bioaugmentation of a novel bacterial consortium in cotton-planted soil for lambda-cyhalothrin degradation

Extensive use of lambda-cyhalothrin（LC） for agricultural and domestic pest control leads to the accumulation of its residues in soil and water,which poses a serious threat to the *** of LC at the point source is the most effective way to avoid its spread and harmful ***,this study was planned to investigate the potential of indigenously isolated bacteria for the remediation of LC in cotton-vegetated *** potent LC-degrading bacteria,Brucella intermedia Halol,Alcaligenes faecalis CH1S,and Aquamicrobium terrae CH1T,were isolated from a pyrethroid-contaminated soil.A consortium CHST comprising these three strains was found to exhibit a higher potential for LC degradation as compared to the individual *** degradation of LC by CHST was optimized for four varying factors,i.e.,pH,inoculum density（ID）,carbon source（CS）,and initial pesticide（i.e.,LC）concentration（PC）,by applying Taguchi design of *** contributions of these factors to the biodegradation of LC were found to be in the order of pH> CS> PC> *** enhanced degradation of LC（84%） was attained at pH 7.0 in minimum salt medium containing 10 mg L-1LC and 3% *** consortium CHST was also augmented in sterilized and unsterilized soil microcosms at three PCs,i.e.,2,5,and 10 mg *** 21 d of incubation,complete LC degradation was achieved at 2 mg kg-1PC in sterilized as well as unsterilized soil,whereas at higher PCs,the extent of degradation was comparatively *** PC of 5 mg kg-1,88% and 96% LC degradation were observed in sterilized and unsterilized soils,respectively,compared to 79% and90% degradation at 10 mg kg-1,*** biodegradation,the major metabolite of LC,i.e.,3-phenoxybenzoic acid,was produced and further *** a cotton-planted soil spiked with 10 mg kg-1LC,the consortium degraded 91.8% LC,as well as improving the agronomic parameters of the cotton *** a nutshell,the consortium CHST was found to be a promising

An Efficient Approach to Escalate the Speed of Training Convolution Neural Networks

Deep neural networks excel at image identification and computer vision applications such as visual product search, facial recognition, medical image analysis, object detection, semantic segmentation,instance segmentation, and many others. In image and video recognition applications, convolutional neural networks(CNNs) are widely employed. These networks provide better performance but at a higher cost of computation. With the advent of big data, the growing scale of datasets has made processing and model training a time-consuming operation, resulting in longer training times. Moreover, these large scale datasets contain redundant data points that have minimum impact on the final outcome of the model. To address these issues, an accelerated CNN system is proposed for speeding up training by eliminating the noncritical data points during training alongwith a model compression method. Furthermore, the identification of the critical input data is performed by aggregating the data points at two levels of granularity which are used for evaluating the impact on the model *** experiments are conducted using the proposed method on CIFAR-10 dataset on ResNet models giving a 40% reduction in number of FLOPs with a degradation of just 0.11% accuracy.

Transport hindrances with electrodialytic recovery of citric acid from solution of strong electrolytes

Electrodialytic （ED） recovery of citric acid （CA） in the presence/absence of strong electrolytes （NaCl, CaCl2 and Feel3） was separately analyzed under different process conditions. Recovery effectiveness was quantitatively estimated from current efficiency values. Efficiency attained optimum value with both flow rate and potential applied, while a monotonic rise was noted with temperature which got lowered beyond 0.1 tool. L 1 feed concentration. 40% drop in efficiency was recorded in the presence of strong electrolytes （Noel, CaCl2 and Feel3） in feed relative to their presence in concentrate. Severe transport hindrance and efficiency loss were attributed to adsorption and allied physicochemical changes occurred with anion/cation exchange membranes （AEM/CEM） and these were confirmed through contact angle/Chronopotentiometry/AFM/EDX. Sluggish potential rise （Galvanostatic mode） in Chronopotentiometric analysis indicated diffusion limiting transport of organic acids influenced AEM resistance. XRD and EDX analysis indicated the presence of salt hydrates/ions （Ca2＋/Fe3＋） over CEM justifying the resistance buildup due to adsorption of multivalent metal ion（s） and salts.

Improvement of mechanical and tribological behaviors of zinc-based die cast alloy is necessary for bearing applications,and chemical modification is found to be a good *** modification of Zn-27wt.%Al alloy was carried out with 1%,2%and 3%nickel through casting route,and its effect on microstructure,hardness,and dry sliding wear behavior was *** refinement of dendritic microstructure is observed along with a transformation from rosette to near rounded morphology with the increase in nickel content of base *** 1%nickel modification,an aluminum-rich Al_(3)Ni intermetallic compound of string type forms in inter dendritic region,while with 2%and 3%nickel modifications,a nickel-rich AlNi3 intermetallic compound of lath/plate type is formed within the intra dendritic *** of the base alloy is improved through grain boundary strengthening at a lower concentration of nickel,and particulate strengthening and spinodal decomposition are the reason for increase in hardness of the alloy with a higher content of *** of friction and wear rate of base alloy is decreased with increasing nickel *** surface is characterized by delamination,smearing and *** wear mechanism is transferred from adhesion to abrasive via oxide film formation with an increase in amount of nickel.

The recent surge in development of smart homes and smart cities can be observed in many developed *** the idea to control devices that are in home(embedded with the Internet of Things(IoT)smart devices)by the user who is outside the home might sound fancy,but it comes with a lot of potential *** can be many attackers who will be trying to take advantage of ***,there is a need for designing a secure scheme whichwill be able to distinguish among genuine/authorized users of the system and *** knowing about the details of when and what IoT devices are used by the user,the attacker can trace the daily activities of user and can plan an attack ***,the designed security scheme should guarantee confidentiality,anonymity and *** of the schemes proposed in the literature are either non-blockchain based which involves inherent problems of storing data in a single-server or assuming weaker attack *** this work,we propose a novel scheme based on blockchain technology,assuming a stronger Canetti and Krawczyk(CK)-threat *** the formal and informal security,and comparative analysis,we show that the proposed scheme provides a superior security and more functionality features,with less communication cost and comparable computational cost as compared to other competent ***,the blockchain based simulation study on the proposed scheme has been conducted to show its feasibility in real-life application.

Analysis of a Stagnation Point Flow with Hybrid Nanoparticles over a Porous Medium

The unsteady stagnation-point flow of a hybrid nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet embedded in a porous medium with mass transpiration and chemical reactions is *** momentum and mass transfer problems are combined to form a system of partial differential equations,which is converted into a set of ordinary differential equations via similarity *** ordinary differential equations are solved analytically to obtain the solution for velocity and concentration profiles in exponential and hypergeometric forms,*** concentration profile is obtained for four different cases namely constant wall concentration,uniform mass flux,general power law wall con-centration and general power law mass *** effect of different physical parameters such as Darcy number Da^(1-1),mass transpiration parameter V_(C),stretching/shrinking parameter (d),chemical reaction parameter(β)and Schmidt number (Sc)on velocity and concentration profile is *** show that,the axial velocity will decreases as the shrinking sheet parameter increases,regardless of whether the suction or injection case is *** concentration decreases with an increase in the shrinking sheet parameter and the chemical reaction rate parameter.
