Protein profile of leprosy patients with plantar ulcers from the Eastern Amazon region

Background:Studies investigating the nutritional status of patients with leprosy and plantar ulcers are ***,the objective of this study was to describe the protein profile of leprosy patients with plantar ulcers from the Eastern Amazon ***:A case record form was created for 75 patients with leprosy(31 with plantar ulcers and 44 without plantar ulcers)with the following data:sociodemographic characteristics,clinical form of leprosy,presence or absence of plantar ulcers,and nutritional assessment using anthropometry consisting of the measurement of body mass index,arm circumference,arm muscle circumference,and triceps *** of blood albumin,transferrin,and c-reactive protein(cRP)were also *** regarding protein intake were obtained using a Food Frequency ***:Plantar ulcers occurred more frequently in male patients(67.7%),patients aged 40-49 years(mean±SD:47.3±8.0 years),and patients receiving 300 or 600 USD(71.0%).The mean weight and height of patients were 71.6±11.4 kg and 1.62±0.1 m,*** levels of cRP were detected in 51.6%of leprosy patients with plantar ulcers and only 9.1%of patients without plantar ulcers(Pcibacillary leprosy and 44.3%of patients with multibacillary leprosy(P=0.0447).Most patients had normal levels of serum albumin(74.2%with plantar ulcers and 77.3%without plantar ulcers).conclusions:Most leprosy patients with plantar ulcers have normal levels of serum albumin and transferrin and high cRP levels,which indicates the presence of an inflammatory *** findings suggest the need to monitor patients with leprosy to prevent the occurrence of plantar ulcers and to provide adequate treatment for patients with existing plantar ulcers.

Minimally Invasive Surgery for Necrotizing Pancreatitis: A case Report

Introduction: Necrotizing pancreatitis management is complex and varies significantly among clinicians. Minimally invasive approaches like transgastric necrosectomy via laparoscopy are emerging as effective treatment options. This case report underscores the technique’s efficacy, clinical outcomes, and role in reducing complications. clinical Observation: A 59-year-old male with a history of smoking and alcoholism presented with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Over the following weeks, he developed symptoms including asthenia, weight loss, and melena. Diagnostic workup revealed severe anemia and Balthazar E necrotizing pancreatitis, with significant intra-abdominal fluid collections and signs of infection. After initial conservative management, the patient underwent transgastric necrosectomy via laparoscopy due to deteriorating clinical status. The procedure involved removing necrotic tissue and performing a cystogastroanastomosis and jejunostomy. Postoperative care included fasting, parenteral nutrition, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and enzymatic replacement. The patient recovered well, with reduced necrotic tissue on follow-up imaging, and was discharged twelve days post-surgery [1]. conclusion: Transgastric necrosectomy by laparoscopy is a valuable first-line surgical option for patients with symptomatic necrotizing pancreatitis, particularly in cases without prior interventions. This minimally invasive technique helps reduce major complications and mortality, offering a less invasive alternative to traditional open necrosectomy. The multidisciplinary approach and careful postoperative management were crucial to the patient’s favorable outcome. The case highlights the potential of transgastric necrosectomy as an effective treatment strategy in managing complex pancreatitis cases, including those with associated duodenal perforation [2].

The detailed electrical conductivity measure- ment (EcM), trace chemical compositions and microparti- cles concentration analysis are performed for BH8 ice core from the depth of 126.0m to 130.0m at Vostok Station. At depth 128.7m, a volcanic signal 4726 a B.P. is detected. The volcanic sulphate flux is 95.8 kg·km?2, sulphate peak concen- tration 1352.8 ng·g?1, duration time about 10.1 years, com- parable with some well-known volcanic events. The results indicate that it seems to be a relatively large scale, long last- ing volcanic signal with farther volcanic origin.

A rovibrational model,including anharmonic,centrifugal,and coriolis corrections,is used to calculate π,K,N,and ∑ orbital and radial *** four orbital excitations of the n meson correspond to the/?(1235),ti2(1670),63(2030),and π4(2250)*** first four radial excitations correspond to the π(1300),π(1800),π(2070),and 7t(2360)*** orbital excitations of the K meson are interpreted as the K_(1)(1270),K_(2)(1770),K_(3)(2320),and K_(4)(2500)resonances;its radial excitations correspond to the K(1460)and K(1830)*** N orbital excitations are identified with the N(1520),N(1680),N(2190),N(2220),and N(2600)*** first four radial excitations of the N family correspond to the N(1440),N(1880),N(2100),and N(2300)*** orbital excitations of the ∑ baryon are associated with the ∑(1670),∑(1915),∑(2100),and ∑(2250)resonances,whereas its radial excitations are identified with the ∑(1660),∑(1770),and ∑(1880)*** proposed rovibrational model calculations show a good agreement with the corresponding experimental values and allow for the prediction of hadron resonances,thereby proving to be useful for the interpretation of excited hadron spectra.

随着人们对绿色能源和环境友好型社会需求的日益增长,先进能量转换装置或系统的研发亟待加速,而燃料电池系统被认为是最有希望的未来发电装置。在不同种类的燃料电池中,固体氧化物燃料电池(SOFcs)是一种清洁环保的发电装置,因其独特的多燃料运行能力及能量转化效率高等优点而前景广阔。然而,传统使用镍-金属陶瓷阳极的SOFcs,在碳氢化合物燃料下运行时,由于燃料的不完全氧化会使阳极产生积碳,从而导致电池性能下降。讨论了碳基SOFc中碳沉积机理和解决阳极积碳的策略,重点介绍了目前广泛研究的具有混合离子-电子导体的双金属-金属陶瓷材料的种类以及研究进展,并总结了双金属-金属陶瓷材料的抗积碳机理,主要表现为降低阳极表面的碳沉积速率以及加速积碳的去除。还介绍了在还原性气氛中,钙钛矿材料中纳米粒子原位偏析的原理,并讨论了原位偏析所形成的纳米颗粒以及其与钙钛矿主体所形成的金属氧化物异质结构在抗积碳阳极中的应用。此外,还探究了多层阳极和单原子催化剂阳极在中温SOFcs中的应用。在燃料电池技术巨大进步的推动下,人们对可用于固定式发电的集成煤气化的燃料电池发电系统(IGFcs)产生了新的兴趣,该系统对于实现煤炭的清洁高效利用具有重要意义,该技术的关键依托于SOFcs的成熟度。最后,总结并指出了碳基SOFcs未来的一些研究方向。

Prevalence of autoantibodies against cellular antigens in patients with HIV and leprosy coinfection in the Amazon region

Background:Infectious agents can activate self-reactive T *** general,infections trigger various mechanisms,including a lack of auto-tolerance,induction of costimulatory molecules on antigen presenting cells,and molecular simulation,in addition to cross-reactions between microbial antigens and *** and leprosy coinfections lead to self-immunity with the production of ***,not enough data on the immune behaviour associated with this coinfection are ***,this study focused on the detection of autoantibodies against cellular antigens(AAcA)in individuals with HIV and leprosy coinfection in the Amazon ***:Patients were distributed into four groups according to their infections:(i)coinfection with HIV and leprosy(n=23),(ii)infection with leprosy(n=33),(iii)infection with HIV/AIDS(n=25),and(iv)healthy blood donor controls(n=100).AAcA were identified by indirect immunofluorescence and the samples were tested using a commercial diagnosis kit containing the antinuclear antibody ***:Morphologically,all stages of cell division were assessed in addition to the morphological features associated with the nuclear matrix,nucleolus,mitotic spindle,and *** was a high prevalence of AAcA in the coinfection group(47.8%,n=11)when compared with the control group of healthy blood donors(2.0%).The results showed predominantly cytoplasmic staining in all groups analysed,and no difference was observed between the presence or absence of AAcA and the leprosy forms(paucibacillary and multibacillary)in the coinfection ***:The results of this study show that despite the tendency of coinfected patients to have higher levels of autoantibodies,no correlation was observed between clinical and laboratorial variables and morbidity associated with HIV and leprosy coinfections or the levels of AAcA in the serum of coinfected *** data are important to elucidate this complex relationship between HIV a

Quasi-freestanding graphene on Ni（110）： A graphene/ metal contact with suppressed interface states

Graphene/Ni（110） has been studied by time-resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure. The c ls core level shows a splitting typical of periodically rippled interfaces. The analysis of the c K-edge reveals that the interface states previously observed for graphene/Ni（111） are suppressed in graphene/Ni（110）. This suppression is due to the reduced hybridization of the Dirac-cone electrons in graphene with the d-bands of the （110）-oriented nickel contacts. Our results show that, contrary to commensurate growth of graphene on Ni（111）, epitaxially grown graphene on Ni（110） behaves as a quasi-freestanding sheet, as the lattice mismatch gives rise to a moir6 reconstruction.

Interplay between the glass and the gel transition

By changing the control parameters, many physical systems reach a slow dynamics regime followed by an arrested or a quasiarrested state. Examples, among others, are gels and glasses. In this paper, we discuss some experimental and theoretical results in polymer and colloidal systems, where gel and glass transitions interfere, and use models from Mode coupling Theory（McT）to illustrate the rich phenomenology observed. The continuous and the discontinuous transition lines, found in the McT models,are considered suitable to describe respectively the gel and the glass transitions, so we suggest that the interplay between gel and glass may be interpreted in terms of the F13 McT model, clarifying also the origin of logarithmic decays often observed in such systems. In particular, the theoretical predictions of the McT in the F13 model are compared with Molecular Dynamics simulations in model systems for chemical gels and charged colloids.

This article follows the trail of Weber’s comprehensive sociology and uses the hermeneutical method as well as the iconological applied to 11 contemporary works of plastic art which can be described as significant and representative of contemporary *** pursues two specific objectives:(a)analyzing the construction of loneliness both in contemporary plastic art and within the society of individuality and separateness,through human bodies and emotions;and(b)attesting how this theme has evolved in artistic practices from simple to reflexive *** have indeed placed solitary men and women in the geographical and symbolic center of their compositions,additionally providing a contrast with a spatial and temporal environment which marginalizes *** conclude that,for contemporary art,subjects are neither fully fledged individuals nor citizens in their own right and that they do not voluntarily live in an individualized society,but rather in one defined by separateness.
