The World Health Organization(WHO)declared global SARS-CoV-2(COVID-19)pandemic status on March 11,2020[1].To date,data record approximately 106 million infected individuals and 2.32 million deaths due to pandemic COVID-19,*** most common symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection reported are:elevation of body temperature,fatigue,cough,loss of *** a percentage of patients,especially elderly individuals with comorbidities,COVID-19 infection can cause severe organ injury[2].Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic,numerous pharmacological treatments have been used off label,to treat the viral infection,with the primary aim of avoiding the most serious complications and organ injury.

Rising rates of obesity has increased the global use of herbal supplements intended to control ***,taking these preparations without appropriate medical supervision could increase the risk of manifestation of side effects,especially at the hepatic *** literature,different cases of acute liver injury consequent to the use of food supplements containing Garcinia cambogia and hydroxycitric acid are *** letter aims to review the most recent literature that analysed the herb-induced liver disease due to the use of hydroxycitric acid,from the first alert coming from the European Food and Drug Administration in 2009,to the last recent European food alerts from 2020 to *** is noteworthy that in some cases it demonstrated the relationship between hydroxycitric acid and ***,there is a need to draw more attention to the relationship between a safe use and a more awareness in the intake of these supplements,to preserve the safety of the consumers who increasingly purchase food supplements,products that have only nutritive properties and are never curative.

Unusually strong lateral interaction in the CO overlayer in phosphorene-based systems

By means of vibrational spectroscopy and density functional theory (DFT), we investigate CO adsorption on phosphorene-based systems. We find stable CO adsorption at room temperature on both phosphorene and bulk black phosphorus. The adsorption energy and vibrational spectrum are calculated for several possible configurations of the CO overlayer. We find that the vibrational spectrum is characterized by two different C–O stretching energies. The experimental data are in good agreement with the prediction of the DFT model and reveal the unusual C–O vibrational band at 165–180 meV, activated by the lateral interactions in the CO overlayer. In the last two decades, great efforts have been made in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer(m CRC) due to the approval of new target agents for cytotoxic drugs. Unfortunately, a large percentage of patients present with metastasis at the time of diagnosis or relapse after a few months. The complex molecular heterogeneity of this disease is not completely understood; to date, there is a lack of predictive biomarkers that can be used to select subsets of patients who may respond to target drugs. Only the RAS-mutation status is used to predict resistance to anti-epidermal growth factor receptor agents in patients with m CRC. In this review, we describe approved targeted therapies for the management of metastatic m CRC and discuss new candidate targets on the horizon.
