We fabricate Schottky contact p.otodetectors based on electrically contacted Au nanoantennas on p.Si for the p.asmonic detection of sub-bandgap.p.otons in the op.ical communications wavelength range. Based on a p.ysical model for the internal p.otoemission of hot carriers, p.otons coup.ed onto the Au nanoantennas excite resonant p.asmons, which decay into energetic ＂hot＂ holes emitted over the Schottky barrier at the Au/p.Si interface, resulting in a p.otocurrent. In our device, the active Schottky area consists of Au/p.Si contact and is very small, whereas the p.obing p.d for external electrical interconnection is larger but consists of Au/Ti/p.Si contact having a comp.ratively higher Schottky barrier, thus p.oducing negligible p.oto and dark *** describe fabrication that involves an electron-beam lithograp.y step.overlaid with p.otolithograp.y. This highly comp.ct comp.nent is very p.omising for ap.lications in high-density Si p.otonics.

Objective:To formulate and evaluate in vitro,surface-modified solid lip.d microsp.eres containing hal of antrine using lip.d matrix formed from goat fat and a p.osp.olip.d(p.0H). Methods:The model drug,hal of antrine in an increasing concentration of 1%,2%,3%,4% and 5%w/w was incorp.rated into surface-modified solid lip.d microsp.eres formulated by hot *** of drug concentration on the encap.ulation efficiency was studied. The disp.rsion was evaluated using p.rticle size,p.rticle morp.ology,p. and encap.ulation *** drug formulation with highest encap.ulation efficiency was selected and used for the release studies and comp.red with the release from a commercial dosage form(Halfan~? 250 mg tablet,Claxo-Smithkline,Mayenne France) using simulated gastric fluid(SGF p. 1.2), simulated intestinal fluid(SIF p. 7.2) and p.osp.ate buffer(p. 6.8) as biorelevant media. Results were analyzed statistically and the level of significance was taken to be p.lt;0.05). Results:Discrete and sp.erical solid lip.d microsp.eres were *** p.rticle size of the disp.rsion was low(32.48-33.87μm) with minimal p.rticle growth and high encap.ulation efficiencies(86.8%-91.0%) after 3 *** p. of the microsp.eres disp.rsion changed ap.reciably after 3 *** vitro release result obtained revealed sustained and controlled drug release from the lip.d microsp.eres comp.red with the tablet dosage ***: Formulation of hal of antrine as solid lip.d microsp.eres p.esents a better alternative to the conventional tablet formulation as the in vitro dissolution of the highly lip.p.ilic hal of antrine was highly imp.oved.

Burns are a significant cause of trauma,and over the years,the focus of p.tient care has shifted from just survival to facilitation of imp.oved functional ***,burn treatment,esp.cially in the case of extensive burn injuries,involves surgical excision of injured skin and reconstruction of the burn injury with the aid of skin *** skin substitutes do not contain all skin cell typ.s and do not facilitate recap.tulation of native skin ***-dimensional(3D)biop.inting for reconstruction of burn injuries involves layer-by-layer dep.sition of cells along with scaffolding materials over the injured *** biop.inting can be done either in situ or in *** these ap.roaches are similar excep. for the site of p.inting and tissue *** are technological and regulatory challenges that need to be overcome for clinical translation of biop.inted skin for burn ***,the use of biop.inting for skin reconstruction following burns is p.omising;biop.inting will enable accurate p.acement of cell typ.s and p.ecise and rep.oducible fabrication of constructs to rep.ace the injured or damaged ***,3D biop.inting is a very transformative technology,and its use for wound reconstruction will lead to a p.radigm shift in p.tient *** this review,we aim to introduce biop.inting,the different stages involved,in vitro and in vivo skin biop.inting,and the various clinical and regulatory challenges in adop.ion of this technology.

The op.ortunistic p.thogen p.eudomonas aeruginosa commonly causes chronic and ultimately deadly lung infections in individuals with the genetic disease cystic fibrosis （CF）. p. aeruginosa is metabolically diverse; it disp.ays a remarkable ability to adap. to and successfully occup. almost any niche, including the ecologically comp.ex CF lung. These p. aeruginosa lung infections are a fascinating examp.e of microbial evolution within a ＂natural＂ ecosystem. Initially, p. aeruginosa shares the lung niche with a p.ethora of other microorganisms and is vulnerable to antibiotic challenges. Over time, adap.ive evolution leads to certain commonly-observed p.enotyp.c changes within the p. aeruginosa p.p.lation, some of which render it resistant to antibiotics and ap.arently help.it to out-comp.te the other sp.cies that co-habit the airways. Imp.oving genomics techniques continue to elucidate the evolutionary mechanisms of p. aeruginosa within the CF lung and will hop.fully identify new vulnerabilities in this robust and versatile p.thogen.

RBp.k-dep.ndent Notch signaling regulates both the onset of chondrocyte hyp.rtrop.y and the p.ogression to terminal chondrocyte maturation during endochondral ossification. It has been suggested that Notch signaling can regulate Sox9 transcrip.ion, although how this occurs at the molecular level in chondrocytes and whether this transcrip.ional regulation mediates Notch control of chondrocyte hyp.rtrop.y and cartilage develop.ent is unknown or controversial. Here we have p.ovided conclusive genetic evidence linking RBp.k-dep.ndent Notch signaling to the regulation of Sox9 exp.ession and chondrocyte hyp.rtrop.y by examining tissuesp.cific Rbp.k mutant（p.x1Cre;Rbp.kf/f）, Rbp.k mutant/Sox9 hap.oinsufficient（p.x1Cre;Rbp.kf/f;Sox9f/1）,and control embryos for alterations in SOX9 exp.ession and chondrocyte hyp.rtrop.y during cartilage develop.ent. These studies demonstrate that Notch signaling regulates the onset of chondrocyte maturation in a SOX9-dep.ndent manner, while Notch-mediated regulation of terminal chondrocyte maturation likely functions indep.ndently of SOX9. Furthermore, our in vitro molecular analyses of the Sox9 p.omoter and Notch-mediated regulation of Sox9 gene exp.ession in chondrogenic cells identified the ability of Notch to induce Sox9 exp.ession directly in the acute setting, but sup.resses Sox9 transcrip.ion with p.olonged Notch signaling that requires p.otein synthesis of secondary effectors.
