The embolization of gastric varices is an established technique for acute bleeding in patients with portal hypertension. Here, we report an attempt to embolize a gastrorenal shunt to facilitate esophagectomy in a patient with an esophageal malignancy. To our knowledge, this is the first case in the literature to highlight the role of interventional medicine in the treatment of patients with esophageal malignancy.

The high-density population leads to crowded cities. The future city is envisaged to encompass a large-scale network with diverse applications and a massive number of interconnected heterogeneous wireless-enabled devices. Hence, green technology elements are crucial to design sustainable and future-proof network architectures. They are the solutions for spectrum scarcity, high latency, interference, energy efficiency, and scalability that occur in dense and heterogeneous wireless networks especially in the home area network （HAN）. Radio-over-fiber （ROF） is a technology candidate to provide a global view of HAN＇s activities that can be leveraged to allocate orthogonal channel communications for enabling wireless-enabled HAN devices transmission, with considering the clustered-frequency-reuse approach. Our proposed network architecture design is mainly focused on enhancing the network throughput and reducing the average network communications latency by proposing a data aggregation unit （DAU）. The performance shows that with the DAU, the average network communications latency reduces significantly while the network throughput is enhanced, compared with the existing ROF architecture without the DAU.

This article focuses on children’s participation in disaster risk *** draws on a 2018 study done in New Zealand with 33 school children who conducted participatory mapping with LEGO and the video game Minecraft to assess disaster risk in their locality and identify ways to be more *** research involved participatory activities with the children actively involved in the co-design,implementation,and evaluation of the initiative.A focus group discussion was also conducted to assess the project from the viewpoint of the *** results indicate that LEGO and Minecraft are playful tools for children to participate in disaster risk *** research identifies four key elements of genuine children’s participation,including the Participants,Play,the Process,and Power(4 Ps).This framework emphasizes that fostering children’s participation in disaster risk reduction requires focusing on the process through which children gain power to influence decisions that matter to *** process,through play,is child-centered and fosters *** article concludes that Play is essential to ground participation within children’s worldviews and their networks of friends and relatives.

In sweet cherry(Prunus avium L.),large variability exists for various traits related to fruit *** is a need to discover the genetic architecture of these traits in order to enhance the efficiency of breeding strategies for consumer and producer *** this objective,a germplasm collection consisting of 116 sweet cherry accessions was evaluated for 23 agronomic fruit quality traits over 2-6 years,and characterized using a genotyping-by-sequencing *** SNP coverage collected was used to conduct a genome-wide association study using two multilocus models and three reference *** identified numerous SNP-trait associations for global fruit size(weight,width,and thickness),fruit cracking,fruit firmness,and stone size,and we pinpointed several candidate genes involved in phytohormone,calcium,and cell wall ***,we conducted a precise literature review focusing on the genetic architecture of fruit quality traits in sweet cherry to compare our results with potential colocalizations of marker-trait *** study brings new knowledge of the genetic control of important agronomic traits related to fruit quality,and to the development of marker-assisted selection strategies targeted towards the facilitation of breeding efforts.

STING is an endoplasmic reticulum(ER)-resident protein critical for sensing cytoplasmic DNA and promoting the production of type Ⅰ interferons;however,the role of STING in B cell receptor(BCR)signaling remains *** generated STING V154M knock-in mice and showed that B cells carrying constitutively activated STING specifically degraded membrane-bound IgM,Ig a and Igβ via SEL1L/HRD1-mediated ER-associated degradation(ERAD).B cells with activated STING were thus less capable of responding to BCR activation by phosphorylating Igα and Syk than those without activated *** immunized with T-independent antigens,STING V154M mice produced significantly fewer antigen-specific plasma cells and antibodies than immunized wild-type(WT)*** further generated B cell-specific STING^(KO) mice and showed that STING^(KO) B cells indeed responded to activation by transducing stronger BCR signals than their STING-proficient *** B cell-specific STING^(KO) mice were T-independently immunized,they produced significantly more antigen-specific plasma cells and antibodies than immunized STIN^(WT)*** both human and m ouse IGHV-unmutated malignant chronic lymphocytic leukemia(CLL)cells downregulated the expression of STING,we explored whether STING downregulation could contribute to the well-established robust BCR signaling phenotype in malignant CLL *** generated a STING-deficient CLL mouse model and showed that STING-deficient CLL cells were indeed more responsive to BCR activation than their STING-proficient *** results revealed a novel B cell-intrinsic role of STING in negatively regulating BCR signaling in both normal and malignant B cells.

Objective:To investigate the antibacterial and antioxidant activities of hydroalcoholic extract of Scholia latifolia（***） bark commonly used in South Africa traditional medicine for the treatment of various ***:The antibacterial test and MIC was determined by using agar well diffusion and dilution methods respectively against eight strains of bacteria. The total phenol,proanthocyanidin and flavonoid contents of *** were assessed using Standard *** antioxidant activity of the extract was evaluated using ferric reducing power and the free radical scavenging activity against 1.1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl（DPPH）, 2.2’-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic-acid（ABTS）,nitric oxide（NO）,hydrogen peroxide（H2O2） and lipid oxidation（lo）.Results:The antibacterial activity demonstrated an appreciable effect against all the gram positive bacteria at MIC between 0.016 and 10 mg/ml. while that of gram negative bacteria was above 10 mg/*** plant extract exhibited high concentration of proanthocyanidin[（300.00±0.10） mg CE/g].followed by flavonoid[（12.46±0.04 mg） TE/g]and phenol[（1 l.06±0.03） mg QE/g]***,the extract at 0.5 mg/mL scavenges ***.H2O2.lo and NO by 87.55%.89.47%.77.15%.86.48%and 77.75%of the radicals *** reducing power was also found to be concentration dependent Conclusions: Our data suggest that *** extract has antibacterial and antioxidants activity and thus could be used as alternative therapv against antibiotic resistance bacteria and to prevent man) radical related diseases.
