Genes resistant to Aleurotrachelus socialis were transferred to the F 1 from the interspecific hybrid wild species of Manihot flabellifolia to *** and two advanced generations of backcrosses（Bc 1 and Bc 2）.We characterized the resistance of *** transferred to Bc 2 parents（cW67-160,cW67-130,cW67-44）,MTAI-8（Bc 1）,resistant（cMB9B-73） and susceptible（cMB9B-104） genotypes from contrasting pools,and resistant（MEcu-72） and susceptible（cMc-40） *** demography and biology were *** molecular markers associated with a phenotypic response of plant resistance were detected in segregating populations（Bc 2）.Results showed that although female survival time was similar on all hosts,the lowest averages of longevity,fecundity and oviposition rate were observed in the resistant control MEcu- 72,only being significantly similar to the parent *** the Bc 1 and Bc 2 populations were compared,it was found that *** fecundity was eight times lower on cMB9B-73 progeny than on cW67-130,expressing the highest levels of resistance to the *** genotypes of cMB9A and cMB9B family had the best segregation.A total of 486 microsatellite primers were evaluated using bulked segregant analysis（BSA）,11 showed polymorphism between the contrasting pools and only one showed significant differences between resistant and susceptible *** conclusion,fecundity was the parameter that impacted most on the intrinsic rate of *** population growth.

An effective risk management system covering the whole process of food production from “farm to fork” is required by the food industry in order to assure that the food provided to consumers is safe. Food safety and quality assurance begins with the design and development of food products starting with product conceptualisation and continuing with the selection, purchasing, and evaluation of raw materials and with the specifications for processing, packaging and distribution. Within a larger quality management framework a number of tools have been developed by the food industry, which when used in an integrated fashion facilitate the management of food safety. These include good manufacturing practice (GMP), good hygiene practice (GHP) and HAccP (hazard analysis critical control point) as well as quality systems which allow the verification that all factors affecting the safety of a product are under control. Finally, regulations and systems can only function if they are applied. Everyone, from the farmer, the line operator in the manufacturing plant, to the person handling the food in distribution and sales, needs to be aware of his influence with regards safety. The effectiveness of safety awareness programs specific to each area is key to an industry approach to risk management.

Piles are long, slender structural elements used to transfer the loads from the superstructure through weak strata onto stiffer soils or rocks. For driven piles, the impact of the piling hammer induces compression and tension stresses in the piles. Hence, an important design consideration is to check that the strength of the pile is sufficient to resist the stresses caused by the impact of the pile hammer. Due to its complexity, pile drivability lacks a precise analytical solution with regard to the phenomena *** situations where measured data or numerical hypothetical results are available, neural networks stand out in mapping the nonlinear interactions and relationships between the system’s predictors and dependent responses. In addition, unlike most computational tools, no mathematical relationship assumption between the dependent and independent variables has to be made. Nevertheless, neural networks have been criticized for their long trial-and-error training process since the optimal configuration is not known a priori. This paper investigates the use of a fairly simple nonparametric regression algorithm known as multivariate adaptive regression splines（MARS）, as an alternative to neural networks, to approximate the relationship between the inputs and dependent response, and to mathematically interpret the relationship between the various parameters. In this paper, the Back propagation neural network（BPNN） and MARS models are developed for assessing pile drivability in relation to the prediction of the Maximum compressive stresses（McS）, Maximum tensile stresses（MTS）, and Blow per foot（BPF）. A database of more than four thousand piles is utilized for model development and comparative performance between BPNN and MARS predictions.

An apatite U-Pb thermal history map for the northern Gawler craton,South Australia

Apatite U-Pb thermochronology was applied to granitoid basement samples across the northern Gawler craton to unravel the Proterozoic, post-orogenic, cooling history and to examine the role of major fault zones during cooling. Our observations indicate that cooling following the ~2500 Ma Sleaford Orogeny and ~1700 Ma Kimban Orogeny is restricted to the christie and Wilgena Domains of the central northern Gawler craton. The northern Gawler craton mainly records post-Hiltaba Event(~1590 Ma) U-Pb cooling ages. cooling following the ~1560 Ma Kararan Orogeny is preserved within the coober Pedy Ridge,Nawa Domain and along major shear zones within the south-western Fowler Domain. The Nawa Domain samples preserve U-Pb cooling ages that are >150 Ma younger than the samples within the coober Pedy Ridge and Fowler Domain, indicating that later(~1300 Ma) fault movement within the Nawa Domain facilitated cooling of these samples, caused by arc collision in the Madura Province of eastern Western Australia. When compared to^(40)Ar/^(39) Ar from muscovite, biotite and hornblende, our new apatite U-Pb ages correlate well, particularly in regions of higher data density. Our data also preserve a progressive younging of U-Pb ages from the nucleus of the craton to the periphery with a stark contrast in U-Pb ages across major structures such as the Karari Shear Zone and the Southern Overthrust, which indicates the timing of reactivation of these major crustal structures. Although this interpolation was based solely on thermochronological data and did not take into account structural or other geological data, these maps are consistent with the structural architecture of the Gawler craton and reveal the thermal footprint of known tectonic and magmatic events in the Gawler craton.

One of the primary objectives of the People's Republic of china (PRc) is an expansion of its foreign trade. To contribute to this objective, it is essential that effective marketing strategies be developed incorporating all elements of the marketing mix, one of the most important being the Produts. Earlier studies indicate that consumers tend to stereotype Products by the country of origin and therefore assume that goods from that country are of similar quality even though they may be familiar with only a limited variety of that country's Products.

Esophageal cancer is increasing in incidence more than any other visceral malignancy in North America. Adenocarcinoma has become the most common cell type. Surgery remains the primary treatment modality for locoregional disease. Overall survival with surgery alone has been dismal, with metastatic disease the primary mode of treatment failure after an R0 surgical resection. cure rates with chemotherapy or radiation therapy alone have been disappointing as well. For these reasons, over the last decade multi-modality treatment has gained increasing acceptance as the standard of care. This review examines the present data and role of neoadjuvant treatment using chemotherapy and radiation therapy followed by surgery for the treatment of esophageal cancer.

Purpose:The purpose of this paper is to explore whether the four value alignment strategies available to educators(Scaffolding,Balancing,Intervention,and Refuge)previously identified in the mathematics education literature comprehensively capture educator value alignment strategies in an in terve ntion con ***/Approach/Methods:To this end,we analyse semi-structured interview data with two teacher-leaders involved in the Getting Ready in Numeracy(G.R.I.N.)intervention program through a value alignment ***:We ascertain that a fifth strategy,the Beacon strategy,is needed to describe the range of value alignment strategies employed by educators in the *** Beacon strategy involves the educator digging in and reasserting their expectations until the student behaves in a manner that aligns with the educator's *** part it invoIves the educator being able to recognize their own values and clearly communicating these values to students.O rigin al ity/Value:This article further explores strategies that educators have at their disposal for aligning their values with those of their *** uncovering of the Beacon strategy is particularly valuable as it suggests that educators could be purposefully pursuing value alignment even when they do not appear to take any active steps to move further towards their students'sets of values.
