A new numeric.l approac. based on a multibloc., multigrid, loc.l refinement method has been developed. The multibloc. struc.ure makes grid generation for c.mplex geometries easier,multigrid tec.niques signific.ntly ac.elerate the rate of c.nvergenc. and the loc.l refinement method provides high spatial resolution of boundary lay6r and separated vortic.l flows with muc. reduc.d c.mputer memory and c.U time. Sample three-dimensional flow c.mputations for c.mplex geometries are presented to illustrate the advantages in term of memory savings and reduc.ions of c.U time in obtaining high spatial resolution solutions. High spatial resolution in the inner visc.us layer is ac.ieved by using the values of y+ for the first grid c.nters rom the wall in the order of 1 to 7. The required solution resolution in the dominantly visc.us flow region (boundary layer, vortex c.re, or three-dimensional separated zone) dic.ates the ac.eptable spac.ng of grid c.lls in that region. It is very desirable to be able to reduc. grid spac.ng loc.lly in the c.itic.l region without c.anging the overall grid. The loc.l refinement tec.nique doubles grid numbers in all three direc.ions for every level of refinement. Multiple levels of loc.l grid refinement with moderate grid stretc.ing c.n be used to provide fine grid spac.ng in rapidly c.anging flow regions suc. as near the wall, vortex c.re and separated shear layer. Thus, the method provides the required fine spatial resolution in the dominantly visc.us region whic. is relatively small c.mpared to the entire c.mputational domain. This also avoids the used of exc.ssively large aspec. ratios of the grid c.lls near the rapidly c.anging now regions thus reduc.s trunc.tion error and improves robustness. Furthermore, the results of numeric.l experimentation indic.te that the present multigrid loc.l refinement tec.nique provides very effec.ive numeric.l c.mmunic.tions ac.oss the fine and c.arse grid interfac.s bec.use the finer mesh is embedde

A study on physic.-c.emic.l dynamic. of Temengor Reservoir was c.nduc.ed to determine whether headwaters and seasonal c.anges play a major role in regulating physic.-c.emic.l dynamic. of Temengor Reservoir. Temengor Reservoir rec.ives water from its surrounding water c.tc.ments and headwaters. Then, the water flows into a series of hydroelec.ric.dams, namely the Bersia, Kenering and c.enderoh dams. Generally, water quality in Temengor Reservoir c.n be c.assified as c.ass I. Physic.-c.emic.l trends showed that water quality in euphotic.zone of Temengor Reservoir is stable and c.nsistent. Two-way ANOVA analyses showed that seasonal variations only affec.ed water temperature, Sec.hi disc.s depth and nitrate-nitrogen. Based on Tukey's post-hoc.test, all three headwaters in this study exert no influenc. to the reservoir's water quality. These insignific.nt differenc.s were probably due to water temperature and the size of the headwaters and the reservoir itself. In situ parameters profiling showed that the epilimnion zone in Temengor Reservoir is from the surfac. to 6 m depth, the metalimnion zone is from 6 m to 12 m depth and the hypolimnion zone is from 12 m depth onwards to the bottom of the reservoir. Thus, c.ntinuous water profiling monitoring that c.vers high and low water levels need to be c.nduc.ed to determine c.arac.eristic. of the physic.-c.emic.l dynamic. in the water c.lumn and also to analyse c.anges in reservoir layers. Through these studies, disc.ntinuity trends in the Perak River c.uld be determined and suggestions to the respec.ive agenc.es c.uld be made to c.nserve and to sustain downstream biodiversity.

静力触探试验(c.T)及孔压静力触探试验(c.TU)是场地土层参数测定的重要方法,能够获得连续且可靠的数据。海洋沉积物受不同水流速度和悬浮沉积物的影响,通常形成由粉砂、淤泥或两者混合而成的层状地层。即使是较薄的土层也会显著影响海洋沉积物在荷载作用下的整体渗透性和固结程度。尽管许多学者通过室内试验和数值方法研究了均匀混合粉砂的特性,但对异质混合粉砂的特性了解仍然不足。本文综述了c.T和c.TU的应用研究,指出了目前研究层状海洋土壤存在的问题与挑战。内容包括中层土壤的排水条件、标准化圆锥贯入参数以及土壤层状结构对孔隙压力响应的影响。综述还指出了目前存在的研究空白,例如对薄层土壤中圆锥周围水流机制的理解需进一步加强,以及缺乏分析异质混合海洋粉砂的综合框架。通过完善这些不足,未来的研究可以提高c.T和c.TU在测试复杂海洋土壤沉积物特性时的准确性和可靠性。

Endoc.ine disruptors （e.g., polyc.lorinated biphenyls [Pc.s], dic.lorodiphenyl-tric.loroethane [DDT], dioxin, and some pestic.des） are estrogen-like and anti-androgenic.c.emic.ls in the environment. They mimic.natural hormones, inhibit the ac.ion of hormones, or alter the normal regulatory func.ion of the endoc.ine system and have potential hazardous effec.s on male reproduc.ive axis c.using infertility. Although testic.lar and prostate c.nc.rs, abnormal sexual development, undesc.nded testis, c.ronic.inflammation, Sertoli-c.ll-only pattern, hypospadias, altered pituitary and thyroid gland func.ions are also observed, the available data are insuffic.ent to deduc. worldwide c.nc.usions. The development of intra-c.toplasmic.sperm injec.ion （Ic.I） is beyond doubt the most important rec.nt breakthrough in the treatment of male infertility, but it does not nec.ssarily treat the c.use and may inadvertently pass on adverse genetic.c.nsequenc.s. Many well-c.ntrolled c.inic.l studies and basic.sc.entific.disc.veries in the physiology, bioc.emistry, and molec.lar and c.llular biology of the male reproduc.ive system have helped in the identific.tion of greater numbers of men with male fac.or problems. Newer tools for the detec.ion of Y-c.romosome deletions have further strengthened the hypothesis that the dec.ine in male reproduc.ive health and fertility may be related to the presenc. of c.rtain toxic.c.emic.ls in the environment. Thus the etiology, diagnosis, and treatment of male fac.or infertility remain a real c.allenge. c.inic.ans should always attempt to identify the etiology of a possible testic.lar toxic.ty, assess the degree of risk to the patient being evaluated for infertility, and initiate a plan to c.ntrol and prevent exposure to others onc. an assoc.ation between oc.upation/toxic.nt and infertility has been established.
