Objective:To study the role of inducible form of heat shock protein 70(Hsp70) in the host tumor regression of rat tumor ***:We examined the role of Hsp70 in host tumorigenicity and in vitro cellular cytotoxicity using a rat *** differential tumor growth and regression kinetics were studied and correlated with the expression of Hsp70,activation of macrophages and natural killer(NK) cells,and circulating or tumor infiltrating immune molecules in the host ***:The sub cuteaneous(s.c.) tumor regression was correlated with increased serum cytokines such as IL-12,TNF P,IFNγand *** of similar increase of Hsp70 in intraperitoneal(i.p.) tumor implanted animals,animals succumb to tumor growth,further,evidently,no immune molecule activation was *** viral promoter driven Hsp70 over expression in these tumor cells restrained solid tumor growth,however,failed to inhibit ascites *** NK cells from *** animals induces cytotoxicity in the presence of anti-tumor antibody,which necessitated CD40-L expression,conversely,NK cells from *** animals failed to induce *** NK cells from *** *** animals with Hsp70 positive tumor cells failed to induce such *** peritoneal macrophages isolated from *** implanted animals when co-cultured with parental BC-8 cells lyses tumor cells,nevertheless entail macrophage specific TNFα*** the contrary,Hsp70 expressing BC-8 tumor cells were resistant to peritoneal macrophage induced ***:This study brings out that Hsp70 possibly involved in regulating the host tumor response and cellular cytotoxicity.

Objective:To examine the role of heat shock protein 90(Hsp90) in the maintenance of actin cytoskeleton in human neuroblastoma tumor ***:Co-precipitation experiments were performed to examine Hsp90 interaction with ***90 and actin interactions were evaluated by protein refolding and acto-myosin motility assays.17-(AUylamino)-17- demethoxygeldanamycin(17AAG) induced actin-cytoskeleton re-organization was examined by laser scanning confocal ***:It was shown that inhibition of Hsp90 by 17AAC accelerates detergent induced cell lysis of neuroblastoma tumor cells through destabilization of actin *** in vitro co-precipitation experiments showed that functional but not mutant Hsp90 binds with *** biochemical modifications,phopshorylation and oligomerization enhanced Hsp90 binding with F-actin.F-actin binding to Hsp90 interfered with Hsp90 chaperone activity in protein refolding assays,and Hsp90 binding to F-actin interfered with actin motility on myosin coated flow *** the combination treatment,17AAG irreversibly augmented the effect of cytochalasin D,an inhibitor of actin ***:It can be concluded that Hsp90 binds to F-actin in tumor cells and maintains the cellular integrity. The results display a novel element of Hsp90 inhibition in destabilizing the actin cytoskeleton of tumor cells,therefore suggest that 17AAG combination with cytoskeletal disruptor may be effective in combating cancer.

This article proposes the idea of using Solar Energy(SE)as a source of power for designing and developing a standalone air-cooling *** type of application is particularly suited for rural areas that have a considerable amount of solar radiation and have no access to grid *** proposed system is comprised of a photovoltaic(PV)array,DC-DC boost converter and DC-DC buck *** Permanent Magnet Brushless Direct Current(PMBLDC)motors are employed to drive a centrifugal water pump and an air blower coupled to their individual *** air blower is connected with a DCDC boost converter that ensures a maximum power point(MPP)operation.A centrifugal water pump is connected with a DC-DC buck *** challenging task in an air cooling system is to maintain the constant speed of the blower under variable irradiance *** power provided by the solar PV array can be shared between the two DC-DC converters in such a way that the BLDC motor connected with the blower will maintain a constant speed by maintaining the constant voltage of the DCDC boost *** rest of the available PV power will be handled by the *** suitability of the proposed system for various perturbations is evaluated by simulating the proposed system using a MATLAB/Simulink and is validated by conducting *** studies have been performed with a variable PV irradiance and the results are explored.

Optical absorption and fluorescence spectra of Sm3＋-doped zincfluorophosphate glasses with molar composition of 44P2O5＋17K20＋9Al2O3＋（30-χ）ZnF2＋χSm2O3 （χ=0.01 mol.%, 0.05 mol.%, 0.1 mol.%, 0.5 mol.%, 1.0 mol.%, 2.0 and 3.0 mol.%） referred as PKAZFSm were prepared by melt quenching technique and were characterized through Raman, absorption, emission and decay curve analysis. From the absorption spectra, Judd-Ofelt intensity parameters were determined and were used to predict radiative properties such as transition probabilities （AR, radiative lifetimes （τR）, branching ratios （βR）, effective bandwidths （△λeff） and stimulated emission cross-section （σ（λp）） for the excited 4G5/2 luminescent level. The decay curve for the 4G5/2 level was single exponential for lower concentration and became non-exponential for higher concentrations. The non-exponential nature of the decay curves of the 4G5/2 level increased with increase in Sm3＋ ions concentration accompanied by decrease in lifetime due to energy transfer processes among the Sm3＋ ions. The non-exponential decay curves was well fitted to the generalized Inokuti-Hirayama model for S=6, indicating that the energy transfer among optically active ions was of dipole-dipole interaction. The cross-relaxation mechanism responsible for the quenching of lifetimes and the effect of variation of concentration on the spectroscopic properties were also discussed.

Lactobionic Acid as a New Synergist in Combination with Phosphonate-Zn(Ⅱ)System for Corrosion Inhibition of Carbon Steel

Studies on lactobionic acid introduced as a synergist in the presence of phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid （PBTC） and zinc ions for corrosion control of carbon steel in aqueous environment are presented. The investigations revealed that lactobionic acid （LBA） acts as an excellent synergist in corrosion inhibition. Optimum concentrations of all the three components of the ternary formulation are established by gravimetric studies. Potentiodynamic polarization studies indicate that the new ternary system is a mixed inhibitor. Impedance studies show that a protective film is formed on the metal surface in the presence of the inhibitor formulation. The film is found to exhibit its protective nature even at higher temperatures up to 60 ~C. Analysis of the protective film by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and reflection absorption Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy infers the presence of Zn（OH）2, oxides and hydroxides of iron and the inhibitor molecules in the surface film probably in the form of a complex, [Zn（II）-PBTC-LBA]. The morphological studies by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and the topographical studies by atomic force microscopy （AFM） also indicate the presence of protective film on the metal surface. A plausible mechanism of corrosion inhibition is proposed.

DFT and TD-DFT calculations of HOMO and LUMO energies and photovoltaic properties are carried out on four selected pentathiophene donor and one IDIC-4F acceptor molecules using B3LYP and PBE0 functionals for the ground state energy calculations and CAM-B3LYP functional for the excited state *** discrepancy between the calculated and experimental energies is reduced by correlating them with a linear *** fitted energies of HOMO and LUMO are used to calculate the Voc of an OSC based on these donors and acceptor blend and compared with experimental *** the Scharber model the calculated PCE of the donor-acceptor molecules agree with the *** has been found that fluorine substitution can be used to improve charge transport by reducing the electron and hole reorganization energies of the *** is also found that the introduction of fluorine onto the donor pentathiophene unit of the donor molecule results in a change of polarity of the distributed charges in the molecule due to the high electronegativity of the fluorine *** quantum chemical potential(μ),chemical hardness(η)and electronegativity(χ),and electrostatic potential maps(EPMs)are also calculated to identify different charge distribution regions in all five molecules.

Background:Subjective measures of auditory development are equally important as objective measures to obtain a realistic image of the hearing status in infants and ***:The objectives of the current study were to translate and validate the LittleEARS questionnaire into the Hindi language,to calculate its psychometric properties and establish a regression curve of the scores obtained as a function of age,to calculate the inter-test and test retest reliability of the *** secondary objectives were to compare the scores obtained by the normal hearing children and those with hearing impairment and to plot a regression curve of total scores obtained by the hearing-impaired children as a function of the duration of auditory training attended since their first fit of the *** and methods:The procedures involved conventional translation,reverse translation,and content validation before administering the *** translated version was administered to parents of 59 children with normal hearing and 41 children with hearing ***:The finalized version had good reliability and efficient internal consistency with a Cronbach alpha value of *** mean scores obtained by the normal hearing children showed a progressive pattern as a function of ***:The LittleEARS questionnaire has been successfully translated and validated into the Hindi language with excellent validity and reliability and can be used for screening and early identification of hearing impairment and in evaluating the outcome of audiological treatment approaches.
