The Antarctic Paleogene marine fossil record has been the key to reconstructing the evolution of the Weddellian Sea and final dismemberment of Southern *** this context,Eocene marine vertebrates from Seymour(marambio)Island have provided valuable *** present the first Eocene record of marine reptiles from the southern Atlantic Coast of South *** corresponds to several postcranial turtle remains represented by a proximal end of the right humerus,three caudal and one thoracic vertebrae,a fragment of the left pubis,and ten ossicles of the dorsal carapace,coming from the Leticia Formation(late-mid Eocene)at Cabo Tiburones,Tierra del Fuego,*** materials show severalfeatures such as the size and general morphology of the humerus and vertebrae,and the presence of relatively small,irregular,smooth,and unkeeled ossicles,which allow us to assign them to Dermochelyidae *** are a cosmopolitan group ofcryptodiran turtles,registered from the late Cretaceous up to the recent,with some physiological-biological peculiarities(e.g.,endothermy and an exclusive jellyfish-based diet)and characterized by the presence of an osseous carapace formed by *** new finding from the Leticia Formation is an addition to the scarce and extremely fragmentary record of Eocene dermochelyids from the southern seas like those from the La meseta and Submeseta formations(Antarctica)and the Waihao and Burnside formations(New Zealand).This new information allows us to discuss the presence of these turtles in such high latitudes in the past and its implication in the evolution of the Weddellian fauna.

The coronavirus disease pandemic caught many pediatric hospitals unpreparedand has forced pediatric healthcare systems to scramble as they examine and planfor the optimal allocation of medical resources for the highest priority *** is limited data describing pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) preparednessand their health worker *** describe the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) preparedness effortsamong a set of PICUs within a simulation-based network *** A cross-sectional multi-center national survey of PICU medical director(s) fromchildren’s hospitals across the United States. The questionnaire was developedand reviewed by physicians with expertise in pediatric critical care, disasterreadiness, human factors, and survey development. Thirty-five children’shospitals were identified for recruitment through a long-established nationalresearch network. The questions focused on six themes: (1) PICU and medicaldirector demographics;(2) Pediatric patient flow during the pandemic;(3)Changes to the staffing models related to the pandemic;(4) Use of personalprotective equipment (PPE);(5) Changes in clinical practice and innovations;and(6) Current modalities of training including *** report on survey responses from 22 of 35 PICUs (63%). The majority of PICUswere located within children’s hospitals (87%). All PICUs cared for pediatricpatients with COVID-19 at the time of the survey. The majority of PICUs (83.4%)witnessed decreases in non-COVID-19 patients, 43% had COVID-19 dedicatedunits, and 74.6% pivoted to accept adult COVID-19 patients. All PICUsimplemented changes to their staffing models with the most common changesbeing changes in COVID-19 patient room assignment in 50% of surveyed PICUsand introducing remote patient monitoring in 36% of the PICU units. 目的评价308 nm准分子光及308 nm准分子激光治疗儿童白癜风的疗效及安全性。方法回顾性分析2010—2015年就诊于西京皮肤医院接受靶向光疗的稳定期白癜风患儿的临床资料。患儿均采用308 nm准分子激光/308 nm准分子光治疗,同时联合局部药物治疗,治疗时间均≥3个月,随访≥6个月。采用白癜风面积及严重程度指数(VASI)评价白癜风严重程度,治疗3个月后评估疗效,以VASI评分较基线下降≥50%(达VASI50及以上)为“有效”。以治疗有效与否做因变量,构建logistic回归模型,筛选与疗效相关的因素。配对样本秩和检验用于治疗前后偏态数据的比较。治疗过程中同时记录不良反应,以评估靶向光疗的安全性。结果最终纳入稳定期白癜风患儿194例,包括男103例(53.1%)、女91例(46.9%),年龄6~14(10.2±2.3)岁。138例(71.1%)患儿采用308 nm准分子激光治疗,56例(28.9%)采用308 nm准分子光治疗。194例患儿基线VASI评分[m(Q1,Q3)]为0.12(0.05,0.40),治疗3个月后VASI评分[0.06(0.02,0.19)]显著低于基线评分(Z=12.02,Pm准分子激光组38例达VASI50,26例达VASI75,有效率为46.4%(64/138);308 nm准分子光组14例达VASI50,4例达VASI75,有效率为32.1%(18/56)。单因素logistic回归分析显示,相较于四肢白斑,头颈部、躯干部位白斑更易复色(OR=3.56,95%CI:1.15~11.02,P=0.027;OR=6.58,95%CI:1.81~23.96,P=0.004);相较于面部其他部位的白癜风,眶周白斑更易复色(OR=4.58,95%CI:1.10~19.11,P=0.037);与无毛发累及的头颈部白斑相比,有毛发累及者不易复色(OR=0.31,95%CI:0.13~0.75,P=0.010)。多因素logistic回归分析显示,眶周可能是面部白斑的最佳复色部位(OR=5.37,95%CI:1.18~24.34,P=0.029),且头颈部白斑有毛发累及是影响光疗复色的独立危险因素(OR=0.28,95%CI:0.08~0.96,P=0.042)。194例稳定期白癜风患儿经靶向光疗3个月,33例出现短期治疗相关不良反应,多为轻度,包括红斑、水疱、脱皮、瘙痒、疼痛,无治疗相关严重不良反应。结论308 nm准分子激光及308 nm准分子光靶向光疗治疗儿童白癜风相对安全有效。

CONSPECTUS: Future medicine is primarily aiming at the development of novel approachesfor an early diagnosis of diseases and a personalized therapy for patients. For achieving theseobjectives, a key role is played by medical imaging. Among available noninvasive imagingtechniques, Fluorine-19 (^(19)F) magnetic Resonance Imaging (mRI) is emerging as a powerfulquantitative detection modality for clinical use both for molecular imaging and for cell *** strength of using ^(19)F-mRI is mainly related to the lack of endogenous organic fluorine intissues, with no background, enabling the visualization of fluorinated tracers as hot-spot images,adding secondary independent information to the anatomical features provided by thegrayscale ^(1)H-mRI. The main challenge for ^(19)F-mRI clinical application is the intrinsic reducedsensitivity of mRI. To improve sensitivity, undoubtedly the use of a high field mRI scanner andcryogenic radiofrequency probes is advantageous, but there is a clear need of developingincreasingly effective fluorinated *** ideal tracer should bear as many as possible magnetically equivalent fluorine atoms andshow optimal magnetic resonance relaxivity properties (i.e., T_(1) and T_(2)), which enable reduced acquisition time with the possibility toapply fast imaging methods. moreover, it should be biocompatible with reduced tendency to bioaccumulate in tissues, which is oneof the main drawbacks in using perfluorocarbons (PFCs), together with their difficulty to be chemically modified with functionalgroups. In fact, PFCs such as perfluorooctyl bromide (PFOB), perfluoro-15-crown-5-ether (PFCE), and linear perfluoropolyethers(PFPE) are currently the most used tracers in ^(19)F-mRI preclinical and clinical studies, with the above-mentioned limitations. Quality Assessment of Five (5) Brands of Sachet Water marketed in Bo City

This study covers some physical, chemical, and bacteriological parameters needed to be tested for drinking water quality. The purpose of the research is to assess and compare the quality of five different brands of sachet water marketed in Bo city and to give relevant recommendation(s) were possible. The results obtained were compared to the standard set for each parameter by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the maximum contaminant level set by the United State Environment Protection Agency (USEPA). Five brands of sachets water were selected in Bo city and their physical and chemical parameters were evaluated in the Njala University Quality Control Laboratory (NUQCL), and their bacteriological evaluation was done in the Sierra Rutile laboratory. The physical parameters tested for were in accordance with the standards set by the WHO with the exception of the temperatures for each brand which were above the WHO standard. The pH of all the sachets water was in the acidic range, below the standard range and the maximum contaminant level set by the WHO and USEPA respectively. This affected the alkalinity of all the sachets water to be zero (0). None of the sachets water completely met the WHO standard and the USEPA maximum contaminant level for all the parameters tested for in this research. In this regard, none of the sachets water is completely recommended for drinking.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

文中探讨了碳酸盐岩储层岩石物理描述新方法的应用。这个方法利用核磁共振（NmR）测井和岩心资料，可以快速而直接地估算井下孔隙度、孔隙大小、束缚水饱和度和渗透率并确定岩石物理岩石类型。这种方法的新颖性在于所建立的渗透率模型和有效表面弛豫率（effectivesurfacerelaxivity）发挥的关键作用。业已证实，如果这个参数能够得到正确的确定，那么NmR测井曲线就无需额外进行任何的标定。这个方法在中东地区一个白垩系碳酸盐岩储层中得到了验证。运用的数据集由一口关键井的NmR测井资料和7口井的专门岩心分析结果构成。在这个模型的标定完成后，利用其他15口井的资料进行了盲测。然后讨论了这个方法在其他碳酸盐岩储层中的推广应用。具体而言，首先定义孔隙大小分布预测器（predictor），这个预测器利用基于压汞测量资料而建立的孔隙系统，实现井下微孔隙、中孔隙和宏孔隙的识别和分类。这种分类为储层建模、流体流动特征评价和润湿性确定奠定了基础。微孔隙与束缚流体具有相关性，因而根据上述孔隙度划分（porositypartition）结果还可以估算束缚水饱和度。根据NmR横向弛豫时间分布与孔隙大小分布之间的关联关系，不管是在实验室条件下还是在储层条件下，都可以直接估算NmR有效表面弛豫率。这个参数是根本性的，它是后续利用先进的新建模方法计算渗透率的主要推动因素（driver）。基于NmR的所有解释与岩心资料之间的匹配程度总体上很高，说明这个方法比较可靠。虽然有多种方法有助于在利用NmR资料对岩石结构进行定量分析的基础上开展碳酸盐岩储层评价，但有效表面弛豫率的定量利用是比较新的，因而能够为这个研究领域带来新的启示。
