A total of 282 part-time.nurse.faculty working in colle.e. or unive.sitie. in Ontario, Canada we.e.invite. to participate. Surve. instrume.ts and ite.s me.sure. de.ographic, workplace. nurse.re.ponse. to the.workplace. and e.te.nal variable.. Corre.ation, multiple.re.re.sion, and me.iation analyse. we.e.conducte. using data from 119 participants (47.6% re.ponse.rate.. Of the.19 variable. hypothe.ize. to affe.t inte.t to re.ain e.ploye. in the.acade.ic organization, se.e. influe.ce. inte.t to re.ain. The.re.ulting mode. indicate. that the.olde. the.part-time.nurse.faculty me.be., the.lowe. the.le.e. of inte.t to re.ain and the.more.ye.rs worke. in the.organization, the.highe. the.le.e. of inte.t to re.ain. The.more.opportunitie. pe.ce.ve. to e.ist outside.of the.e.ploying organization, the.highe. the.le.e. of inte.t to re.ain. Additionally, the.more.satisfie. part-time.nurse.faculty we.e.with the.r job ove.all, the.highe. the.r le.e. of inte.t to re.ain. In the.workplace. the.more.support from the.le.de., the.more.formal or informal re.ognition re.e.ve., and the.more.fair work proce.ure. we.e.pe.ce.ve. to be. the.highe. le.e.s of part-time.nurse.faculty inte.t to re.ain e.ploye. in the.acade.ic organization, me.iate. by job satisfaction. Shortage.of nurse. is a major conce.n across he.lthcare.syste.s. One.contributing factor that has re.e.ve. little.atte.tion is the.shortage.of ade.uate.y pre.are. nurse.faculty. The.nurse.shortage.will be.e.ace.bate. if the.supply of ade.uate.y pre.are. nurse.faculty is insufficie.t. Little.is known about the.factors that influe.ce.nurse.faculty to re.ain e.ploye.. Focus groups we.e.conducte. in 2011 with nurse.faculty from both colle.e. and unive.sitie. in Ontario, Canada. Six focus groups including 37 participants we.e.he.d with diffe.e.t groups of nurse.faculty in ge.graphically dive.se.are.s of the.province. Background: Our hypothe.is was that only e.tablishe. and pe.siste.t injurie. and complications afte. positioning in the.Tre.de.e.burg position are.re.orte. and de.e.te., de.pite.that patie.ts may have.gre.t discomfort afte. surge.y. Aim: The.aim of this study was to e.plore.patie.t re.orte. discomfort, pain and functional de.re.se.two hours, 24 hours and four we.ks afte. laparoscopic re.e.tion of the.colon in the.prone.lithotomy position, as we.l as factors pote.tially associate. with re.orte. pain. Me.hods: A longitudinal se.f-re.ort que.tionnaire.study was conducte. at thre. time.points. Re.ults: A total of 37 patie.ts re.ponde.. Findings show that patie.ts mostly re.orte. pain in re.ation to the.surgical are., but also re.ate. to othe. are.s that may be.linke. to positioning. The.Atlantic sand fiddle. crab Uca pugilator is an e.tre.e.y abundant crab found along the.e.ste.n coast of the.Unite. State.. Fiddle. crabs have.a life.cycle.with an obligatory planktonic larval phase.of 30-90 days,which might be.e.pe.te. to le.d to wide.pre.d larval dispe.sal and conse.ue.t ge.e.ic homoge.e.ty ove. conside.able.distance.. Howe.e.,a large.amount of morphological and be.avioral variation is found be.we.n northe.n and southe.n populations along the.e.ste.n coast. This study was unde.take. to de.e.mine.the.population ge.e.ic structure.of *** and to de.e.mine.whe.he. the.e.diffe.e.ce. may have.a ge.e.ic basis. The.population structure.of the.fiddle. crab was analyze. using 472 individuals colle.te. from 12 site. along the.e.ste.n coast. PCR-base. single.stand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) was use. to inve.tigate.be.we.n-site.variation in the.mitochondrial 16S rRNA ge.e.of the.e.individuals. Analysis of ge.e.ic variation indicate. fre.ue.t ge.e.flow be.we.n ne.rby localitie.,but much re.uce. le.e.s be.we.n populations se.arate. by large. ge.graphic distance.. MicroRNA profile. we.e.re.orte. in human e.ididymal tissue. but not spe.ifically in the.e.ithe.ial ce.ls de.ive. from those.re.ions. He.e. we.re.e.l miRNA signature. of primary culture. of caput, corpus, and cauda e.ididymis e.ithe.ial ce.ls and of the.tissue. from which the. we.e.de.ive.. We.ide.tify 324 e.ithe.ial ce.l-de.ive. microRNAs and 259 tissue.de.ive. microRNAs in the.e.ididymis, some.of which displaye. re.ionalize. e.pre.sion patte.ns in ce.ls and/or tissue..
