Development of asymptotic magnitude Bode plots for integer-order transfer functions is a well-established topic in the control ***,construction of such plots for the fractional-order transfer functions has not received much attention in the existing *** the present paper,we investigate in this direction and derive the procedures for sketching asymptotic magnitude Bode plots for some of the popular fractional-order controllers such as PI^α,[PI]^α,PD^β,[PD]^β,and PI^αD^β.In addition,we deduce these plots for general fractional commensurate-order transfer functions as *** applications of this work,we illustrate 1)the analysis of the designed fractional-control loop and 2)the identification of fractional-order transfer function from a given plot.

Artificial intelligence(AI),which has recently gained popularity,is being extensively employed in modern fault diagnostic research to preserve the reliability and productivity of *** effectiveness of AI is influenced by the quality of the labeled training ***,in engineering scenarios,available data on mechanical equipment are scarce,and collecting massive amounts of well-annotated fault data to train AI models is expensive and *** response to the inadequacy of training samples,a numerical simulation-based partial transfer learning method for machinery fault diagnosis is ***,a suitable simulation model of critical components in a mechanical system is developed using the finite element method(FEM),and numerical simulation is performed to acquire FEM simulation samples containing different fault ***,several synthetic simulation samples are generated to form complete source domain training samples using a generative adversarial ***,the partial transfer learning network is trained to extract shared fault characteristics between the simulation and measured samples in the case of class ***,the resulting model is used to diagnose unknown samples from real-world mechanical systems in *** proposed method is tested on actual fault samples of bearings and gears obtained from a public dataset and experimental test rig available in our laboratory,achieving average classification accuracy of 99.54%and 99.64%,*** investigations reveal that the proposed method has superior classification and generalization ability when detecting faults in real mechanical systems.

This paper proposes a cruise control system(CCS)to improve an electric vehicle's range,which is a significant hurdle in market penetration of electric vehicles.A typical driver or a conventional adaptive cruise control(ACC)controls an electric vehicle(EV)such that it follows a lead vehicle or drives close to the speed *** driving behaviour may cause the EV to cruise significantly above the average traffic *** may later require the EV to slow down due to the traffic ripples,wasting a part of the EV's kinetic *** addition,the EV will also waste higher speed dependent dissipative energies,which are spent to overcome the aerodynamic drag force and rolling *** paper proposes a CCS to address this *** proposed CCS controls an EV's speed such that it prevents the vehicle from speeding significantly above the average traffic *** addition,it maintains a safe inter-vehicular distance from the lead *** design and simulation analysis of the proposed CCS were in a MATLAB simulation *** simulation environment includes an energy consumption model of an EV,which was developed using data collected from an electric bus operation in *** the simulation analysis,the proposed system reduced the EV's energy consumption by approximately 36.6%in urban drive cycles and 15.4%in motorway drive ***,the experimental analysis using a Nissan e-NV200on two urban routes showed approximately 30.8%energy savings.

In this paper,a new design method for digital infinite impulse response(IIR)filters with nearly linear-phase response is presented using fractional derivative constraints(FDCs).In the proposed method,design problem of an IIR frlter is constructed as the minimization of phase error between the desired and designed phase response of an allpass filter(APF)such that the designed lowpass filter(LPF)or highpass frlter(HPF)yields less passband(ep),and stopband errors(es)with optimal stopband attenuation(As).In order to have accurate passband(pb)response,FDCs are imposed on appropriate reference frequency,where the optimality of these FDCs are ensured by using a new greedy based sorting *** simulated results reflect the efficiency of the proposed method in term of improved passband response along with better transition ***,small reduction in^is observed within the allowable limit,when compared to noin-fractional design approach,but the designed filter remains immune to wordlength(WL)effect.

Grain size and clay mineral distribution up to 45 cm depth in the silty clay sediments from 26 box cores from 10°to 16°S along four longitudes（73.5°-76.5°E）were studied for understanding spatial variability in the Central Indian Basin（CIB）.It was observed that the average sand content in the basin is 3.8%,which decreases systematically and longitudinally to 0.3%towards *** average illite and chlorite major clay mineral abundance also decrease southwards along the four longitudes from 10°S,and show the limit of influence of the Ganges-Brahmaputra river＇s supply up to 10°***, the average clay content increases from west to east in the basin,and southwards along 73.5°E and either side of the 76.5°E fracture zone（FZ）,which strongly suggests the possibility of clay supply due to circulation of Antarctic Bottom Water（AABW）from the south through the *** distribution of four clay minerals along 73°and 76.5°E FZ in the CIB shows dissimilar trends of increase and decrease,and indicate a mix environment in the *** study indicates that the FZ in the CIB has an important role in controlling the distribution of clay minerals.

In renewable penetrated power systems, frequency instability arises due to the volatile nature of renewable energy sources (RES) and load disturbances. The traditional load frequency control (LFC) strategy from conventional power sources (CPS) alone unable to control the frequency deviations caused by the aforementioned disturbances. Therefore, it is essential to modify the structure of LFC, to handle the disturbances caused by the RES and load. With regards to the above problem, this work proposes a novel coordinated LFC strategy with modified control signal to have Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) for frequency stability enhancement of the Japanese power system. Where, the coordinated control strategy is based on the PID controller, which is optimally tuned by the recently developed JAYA Algorithm (JA). Numerous simulations are performed with the proposed methodology and, the results have confirmed the effectiveness of a proposed approach over some recent and well-known techniques in literature. Furthermore, simulation results reveal that the proposed coordinated approach significantly minimizing the frequency deviations compared to the JAYA optimized LFC without PHEVs & with PHEVs but no coordination.

Purpose Load frequency control(LFC)in today’s modern power system is getting complex,due to intermittency in the output power of renewable energy sources along with substantial changes in the system parameters and *** address this problem,this paper proposes an adaptive fractional order(FO)-fuzzy-PID controller for LFC of a renewable penetrated power ***/methodology/approach To examine the performance of the proposed adaptive FO-fuzzy-PID controller,four different types of controllers that includes optimal proportional-integral-derivative(PID)controller,optimal fractional order(FO)-PID controller,optimal fuzzy PID controller,optimal FO-fuzzy PID controller are compared with the proposed *** dynamic response of the system relies upon the parameters of these controllers,which are optimized by using teaching-learning based optimization(TLBO)*** simulations are carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK *** The simulation outcomes reveal the supremacy of the proposed approach in dynamic performance improvement(in terms of settling time,overshoot and error reduction)over other controllers in the literature under different ***/value In this paper,an adaptive FO-fuzzy-PID controller is proposed for LFC of a renewable penetrated power *** main contribution of this work is,a maiden application has been made to tune all the possible parameters of fuzzy controller and FO-PID controller simultaneously to handle the uncertainties caused by renewable sources,load and parametric variations.

In the present research work,AZ91 magnesium alloy and AA6082-T6 aluminium alloy were joined by friction stir welding *** comparison of microstructure and mechanical properties between different joints by varying the different materials on advance and retreating sides were mainly *** different welds have been prepared to find the material mixing between the similar and dissimilar *** joint interfaces of the welds have been investigated by employing an optical microscope and scanning electron *** Mg was placed on advancing side(AS),more aluminium content was soluble in nugget zone than the case where Mg was placed on the retreating side(RS).Thin intermetallic layer in the joint interface of Mg/Al and thick intermetallic layer with poor adhesion of the aluminium and magnesium have been observed in the dissimilar joints varying the *** highest UTS of 172.3 MPa was found for Mg-Al when Mg was placed on AS and lower UTS of 156.25 MPa was obtained when Mg was placed on *** of 86 Hv and 89 Hv were observed in the Stir zone for the dissimilar AZ91 Mg alloy and AA6082-T6 Al alloy when AZ91Mg alloy was placed on the AS and on the RS *** was also carried out to find the mode of failure.
