PERFORMANCE MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF BLOOD FLOW IN ELASTIC ARTERIES

Two different non_Newtonian models for blood flow are considered,first a simple power law model displaying shear thinning viscosity,and second a generalized Maxwell model displaying both shear thinning viscosity and oscillating flow viscous_*** models are used along with a Newtonian model to study sinusoidal flow of blood in rigid and elastic straight arteries in the presence of magnetic *** elasticity of blood does not appear to influence its flow behavior under physiological conditions in the large arteries,purely viscous shear thinning model should be quite realistic for simulating blood flow under these *** using the power law model with high shear rate for sinusoidal flow simulation in elastic arteries,the mean and amplitude of the flow rate were found to be lower for a power law fluid compared to Newtonian fluid for the same pressure *** governing equations have been solved by Crank_Niclson *** results are interpreted in the context of blood in the elastic arteries keeping the magnetic effects in *** physiological flow simulation in the aorta,an increase in mean wall shear stress,but a reduction in peak wall shear stress were observed for power law model compared to a Newtonian fluid model for matched flow rate wave *** flow in the presence of transverse magnetic field in an elastic artery is investigated and the influence of factors such as morphology and surface irregularity is evaluated.

Face recognition systems have enhanced human-computer interactions in the last ten ***,the literature reveals that current techniques used for identifying or verifying faces are not immune to *** Component Analysis-Support Vector Machine(PCA-SVM)and Principal Component Analysis-Artificial Neural Network(PCA-ANN)are among the relatively recent and powerful face analysis *** to PCA-ANN,PCA-SVM has demonstrated generalization capabilities in many tasks,including the ability to recognize objects with small or large data *** from requiring a minimal number of parameters in face detection,PCA-SVM minimizes generalization errors and avoids overfitting problems better than ***-SVM,however,is ineffective and inefficient in detecting human faces in cases in which there is poor lighting,long hair,or items covering the subject’s *** study proposes a novel PCASVM-based model to overcome the recognition problem of PCA-ANN and enhance face *** experimental results indicate that the proposed model provides a better face recognition outcome than PCA-SVM.

Objective:To evaluate the presence and antibiogram pattern of Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus(***)in retail poultry meat ***:Foodborne pathogens(Salmonella and ***)were isolated from poultry meat and confirmed with the help of biochemical and immunological *** of the isolates were examined by following CLS1 ***:A total number of 209 poultry meat samples were collected and studied in this *** of which,5.26%were found contaminated with Salmonella while 18.18%were found contaminated with *** the Salmonella and *** isolates were found resistant to at least one *** 72.72%of the Salmonella isolates showed resistance to tetracycline,while *** isolates were also found highly resistant to tetracycline equal to 44.73%.One of the Salmonella isolates showed multi-drug resistance to almost six antibiotics out of nine antibiotics used in the *** resistant *** isolates were also found in the ***:The study confirmed the presence of Salmonella and *** in retail poultry *** is a potential threat to consumer *** reduce the risk of contamination,good hygiene practices are necessary from processing to storage.

This research was directed to understand the bactericidal effect of epidermal mucus of two Asian cat fish species *** batrachus and Heteropneustes *** mucus extracts(raw and diluted)of both cat fish species were tested against several Gram negative(Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Escherichia coli,Klebsiella pneumonia,***)and Gram positive bacterial strains(Bacillius cereus,Staphylococcus aureus,***)and antibacterial results were also compared with two standard antibiotics *** and chloramphenicol used as positive *** *** challenge experiment was also performed on all selected test fish species to examine the change in the amount of mucus production and its bactericidal impact..Both epidermal mucus extracts(raw and diluted)of all selected normal and bacterial challenged test objects showed potent bactericidal effect against all pathogenic bacterial strains taken under ***,former was more effective than *** raw epidermal mucus extracts of both normal and bacterial challenged cat fish species exhibited significantly higher ZOI values against all selected microbial strains than diluted mucus extracts and antibiotic ***,these outcomes have clearly revealed that this cost effective natural product acquired from fishes is the key component of their defensive ***,it could be utilized as a novel‘antimicrobial’in human as well as veterinary sector for combating against several bacterial diseases.

The objective of this study is to develop a mathematical model for a two-pot enclosed mud cookstove.A new model has been developed combining transient heat transfer,combustion chemistry and fluid *** model can be used for variation of the operation and design *** model predicts performance parameters such as efficiency,boiling time,excess air ratio(EAR),transient wall,flame and char *** an input power of 5.1 kW,the estimated overall efficiency,EAR and boiling time were 17.1%,1.97 and 43 minutes,*** model outcome is compared with experimental ***,10 parameters are varied and their impact on cookstove performance is *** optimum dimension for the door opening,combustion-chamber height and wall thickness are ***,this study can serve as an effective tool for cookstove design.

The reconfigurable manufacturing system （RMS） is the next step in manufacturing, allowing the production of any quantity of highly customized and complex parts together with the benefits of mass production. In RMSs, parts are grouped into families, each of which requires a specific system configuration. Initially system is configured to produce the first family of parts. Once it is finished, the system will be reconfigured in order to produce the second family, and so forth. The effectiveness of a RMS depends on the formation of the optimum set of part families addressing various recon figurability issues. The aim of this work is to establish a methodology for grouping parts into families for effective working of RMS. The methodology carried out in two phases. In the first phase, the correlation matrix is used as similarity coefficient matrix. In the second phase, agglomerative hier archical Kmeans algorithm is used for the parts family for mation resulting in an optimum set of part families for reconfigurable manufacturing system.

AIM: The fruits of Lagenaria siceraria(Molina) Standl.(Cucurbitaceae), a commonly used vegetable, are reported to possess various medicinal properties. In previous studies, the fibrinolytic potential of an ethanolic extract of fruits of Lagenaria siceraria was investigated in comparison with kaempferol isolated from it. The aim of the present study was to explore its mechanistic antithrombotic potential and antiplatelet activity using a wide dose range in different in vitro and in vivo models, and to quantify the total phenolic, flavonoid, and kaempferol contents using a colorimetric method. METHOD: The antithrombotic potential was investigated using tail bleeding time in mice, a plasma recalcification assay, and pulmonary thromboembolism in mice. The antiplatelet activity was studied using an in vitro model to investigate IC50 value. RESULTS: A significant amount of total phenols, flavonoids, and kaempferol was quantified in L. siceraria ethanolic extract. An ethanolic extract of the fruits of L. siceraria showed a significant increase in tail bleeding time and plasma recalcification time, significant protection against ADP induced pulmonary thromboembolism in mice, and also inhibited the platelet aggregation induced by ADP in vitro. The study suggested that the fruits of L. siceraria exhibit significant antithrombotic potential due to inhibition of ADP-mediated platelet aggregation and the involvement of various non-cellular chemical mediators of blood. CONCLUSION: This finding may be helpful in treating the serious consequences of the thrombus formed in blood vessels which include atherothrombotic diseases, such as myocardial or cerebral infarction. So, further investigation should be done for revealing exact mechanism of action behind these types of activities.
