Beginning from the proposition that availability of reliable data is necessary to the application of nuclear techniques, we explore the questions of how such data are obtained and how the extent of their reliability is ascertained. These questions are considered first in general terms in relation to data types and organizational frameworks, then with particular reference to the journal Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables. The reliability issue is further discussed in terms of this journal’s policies and unique presentation style.

The performance of a device-to-device(D2D)underlay communication system is limited by the co-channel interference between cellular users(CUs)and D2D *** address this challenge,a reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)aided D2D underlay system is studied in this paper.A two-timescale optimization scheme is proposed to reduce the required channel training and feedback overhead,where transmit beamforming at the base station(BS)and power control at the D2D transmitters are adapted to instantaneous effective channel state information(CSI);and the RIS phase shifts are adapted to slow-varying channel *** on the two-timescale optimization scheme,we aim to maximize the D2D ergodic weighted sum-rate(WSR)subject to a given outage probability constrained signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio(SINR)target for each *** two-timescale problem is decoupled into two sub-problems,and the two sub-problems are solved *** results verified that the two-timescale based optimization performs better than two baselines,and also demonstrated a favourable trade-off between system performance and CSI overhead.

The Venice Lagoon is exposed to atmospheric pollutants from industrial activities, thermoelectric power plants, petrochemical plants, incinerator, domestic heating, ship traffic, glass factories and vehicular emissions on the mainland. In 2005, construction began on the mobile dams （MOSE）, one dam for each channel connecting the lagoon to the Adriatic Sea as a barrier against high tide. These construction works could represent an additional source of pollutants. PM10 samples were taken on random days between 2007 and 2010 at three different sites： Punta Sabbioni, Chioggia and Malamocco, located near the respective dam construction worksites. Chemical analyses of V, Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Mo, Cd, Sb, T1 and Pb in PM10 samples were performed by Inductively coupled plasma- quadrupole mass spectrometry （ICP-QMS） and results were used to identify the main aerosol sources. The correlation of measured data with meteorology, and source apportionment, failed to highlight a contribution specifically associated to the emissions of the MOSE construction works. The comparison of the measurements at the three sites showed a substantial homogeneity of metal concentrations in the area. Source apportionment with principal component analysis （PCA） and positive matrix factorization （PMF） showed that a four principal factors model could describe the sources of metals in PM10. Three of them were assigned to specific sources in the area and one was characterised as a source of mixed origin （anthropogenic and crustal）. A specific anthropogenic source of PM10 rich in Ni and Cr, active at the Chioggia site, was also identified.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual management of mucinous cystic neoplasm (MCN) of the pancreas. A systematic review was performed in December 2009 by consulting PubMed MEDLINE for publications and matching the "pancreatic mucinous cystic neoplasm", "pancreatic mucinous cystic tumour", "pancreatic mucinous cystic mass", "pancreatic cyst", and "pancreatic cystic neoplasm" to identify English language articles describing the diagnosis and treatment of the mucinous cystic neoplasm of the pancreas. In total, 16 322 references ranging from January 1969 to December 2009 were analysed and 77 articles were identified. No articles published before 1996 were selected because MCNs were not previously considered to be a completely autonomous disease. Definition, epidemiology, anatomopathological findings, clinical presentation, preoperative evaluation, treatment and prognosis were reviewed. MCNs are pancreatic mucinproducing cysts with a distinctive ovarian-type stroma localized in the body-tail of the gland and occurring in middle-aged females. The majority of MCNs are slow growing and asymptomatic. The prevalence of invasive carcinoma varies between 6% and 55%. Preoperative diagnosis depends on a combination of clinical features, tumor markers, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging, endoscopic ultrasound with cyst fluid analysis, and positron emission tomography-CT. Surgery is indicated for all MCNs.
