This study assessed air quality indicators before and after enactment of the Spanish anti-smoking law. mass and number concentrations and the chemical composition of particles were evaluated. microscopy analyses were also conducted. Real time concentrations of Pmlo, Pm2.s, Pm1 and ultrafine particles were measured under ventilated and non-ventilated conditions and Pmlo samples were collected for detailed inorganic and organic chemical characterization. Before enactment of the law in 2010, tobacco smoke produced significant indoor ambient particulate matter pollution, with elevated particulate matter mass concentrations （Pm10 and Pm1 concentrations of 122-220 and 48-85 Dg/m3, respectively） and ultrafine particle numbers （75,000 and 48,000 cm ~ under ventilated and non-ventilated conditions, respectively）. Typical tobacco smoke tracers including iso- and anteiso-alkanes and elements including La and Ce from the ignition of lighters were abundant. Additionally, several toxic substances derived from tobacco smoke, including Cd （3.1 ng/m3） and benzo[a]pyrene （1.0 ng/m3） were present at concentrations approximately 10 times greater than those measured after enactment of the anti-smoking law. The anti-smoking law sig- nificantly reduced exposure to potentially toxic compounds by approximately 90%. This law is expected to have a positive health impact, particularly for people who spend considerable time in affected envi- ronments, such as employees.

We report the first genetic linkage map of the catfish Lophiosilurus alexandri,a South American threatened and promising aquaculture catfish *** the progeny of three full-sib families,with 141,74,and 49 offspring,respectively,we could genotype 2351 SNP markers using the ddRAD technology,shared by the male and the female maps *** averaged,female and male maps spanned a total length of 2201.3 cm,2481.9 cm,and 1872.8 cm,respectively,and comprehended the expected 27 linkage groups according to the karyotype information of the species(2n=54).The recombination rate was nearly twice higher in the female than in the male *** average map was used to estimate the historical effective population size(Ne)of the species from linkage disequilibrium between pairs of SNPs using parental individuals and revealed a remarkable drop in Ne about 20-25 generations in the *** construction of the biggest artificial reservoir in Latin America and associated nutrient retention is pointed as a possible reason for such a reduction and suggests a reevaluation of the conservation status of the *** current map lays the groundwork for understanding the genetic basis of economically important traits in breeding programs and will be useful for the genome assembly of this important commercial species.

Objective: To assess the temporal and geographical distribution of confirmed cases of cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis in the Argentine Republic from 2013 to 2017. methods: A retrospective study was carried out using data collected from the Integrated Surveillance Bulletin database of the National System of Health Surveillance. Confirmed cases of cutaneous, mucocutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis up to the 52 nd epidemiological week of each year was included. Results: In the 5 years period, 1 295 confirmed leishmaniasis cases were reported in the Argentine Republic. One thousand twenty-eight(1 028) cases corresponded to cutaneous leishmaniasis(87.10%), being the most common type of leishmaniasis. mucocutaneous leishmaniasis was in the second place in the country with 115 cases reported, mostly in the Northwest and Northeast regions. A total of 52 individuals with visceral leishmaniasis were identified and misiones Province was the most affected. Conclusions: It is important to analyze the temporal and geographical distribution of leishmaniasis in order to provide an adequate management and surveillance.

Lipocalins are one of the groups of allergens derived from domestic animals with clinical importance for the development of allergic responses. They have been characterized in different animals. With allergenic capacity characterized, little is known about the epitopes involved in allergic responses. Here, potential antigenic regions involved in cross-reactivity among lipocalins were explored through bioinformatics tools. The amino acid sequences of several lipocalins from different domestic animals (mouse, dog, cat, bull, hamster, horse and pig) were used to determine the degree of kinship by phylogenetic studies. Groups with highest phylogenetic relation were obtained by using mEGA software. 3D models of lipocalins not reported in the protein data bank were modeled by homology to identify potential antigenic regions compromised in the cross-reactivity of this group of allergens. The alignment of the entire database of allergenic lipocalins and the inferred maximum likelihood tree segregate lipocalins into five monophyletic clades (referenced here as A, B, C, D and E). According to the multiple pairing analyzes, group C (Fel d 4, Rat n 1 and Equ c 1) showed the highest degree of identity among their amino acid sequences (58%). The analysis of conserved and exposed residues showed that group C shares three antigenic regions that could potentially contribute to its cross-reactivity. Potential antigenic sites were identified for the generation of cross-reactivity between the different lipocalins analyzed in this study. These studies support the need to carry out directed mutagenesis tests to confirm their relevance in the allergenic capacity of lipocalins.

We investigate the level of galaxy assembly bias in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) main galaxy sample using ELUCID,a state-of-the-art constrained simulation that accurately reconstructed the initial density perturbations within the SDSS *** top of the ELUCID haloes,we develop an extended HOD model that includes the assembly bias of central and satellite galaxies,parameterized as Q_(cen)and Q_(sat),respectively,to predict a suite of one-and two-point *** particular,our fiducial constraint employs the probability distribution of the galaxy number counts measured on 8 h^(-1)mpc scales N_8^(g) and the projected cross-correlation functions of quintiles of galaxies selected by N_(8)^(g) with our entire galaxy *** perform extensive tests of the efficacy of our method by fitting the same observables to mock data using both constrained and non-constrained *** discover that in many cases the level of cosmic variance between the two simulations can produce biased constraints that lead to an erroneous detection of galaxy assembly bias if the non-constrained simulation is *** applying our method to the SDSS data,the ELUCID reconstruction effectively removes an otherwise strong degeneracy between cosmic variance and galaxy assembly bias in SDSS,enabling us to derive an accurate and stringent constraint on the *** fiducial ELUCID constraint,for galaxies above a stellar mass threshold m_(*)=10^(10.2)h^(-2)m_(⊙),is Q_(cen)=-0.09±0.05 and Q_(sat)=0.09±0.10,indicating no evidence for a significant (>2σ) galaxy assembly bias in the local Universe probed by ***,our method provides a promising path to the robust modelling of the galaxy-halo connection within future surveys like DESI and PFS.

Britt belonging to red and green varieties harvested from eight areas in China and Japan were investigated for a new feasibility of water extract of *** *** compound contents were determined,identified and *** them,three cinnamic derivatives ranged from 0.09 to 10.10 mg/g dry basis(coumaroyl tartaric acid,0-0.76 mg/g,caffeic acid,0.07-0.84 mg/g,and rosmarinic acid,0-10.1 mg/g),flavonoids ranged from 3.43 to 18.53 mg/g(apigenin 7-O-caffeoylglucoside,0-1.16 mg/g;scutellarein 7-O-diglucuronide,0.10-1.84;luteolin 7-O-diglucuronide, 0.28-7.35;apigenin 7-O-diglucuronide,2.18-8.74;luteolin 7-0-glucuronide,0-0.51 scutellarein 7-O-glucuronide0.05-1.78),and anthocyanins(cis-shisonin,shisonin,malonylshisonin and cyanidin 3-O-(E)-caffeoylglucoside-5-O-malonylglucoside) which were detected in only red-green or red cultivars, range from 0.74 up to 1.78 mg/g.

Laurel forests are quite relevant for biodiversity conservation and are among the island ecosystems most severely damaged by human *** the past,Canary laurel forests have been greatly altered by logging,livestock and *** remains of laurel forests are currently protected in the Canary Islands(Spain).However,we miss basic information needed for their restoration and adaptive management,such as tree longevity,growth potential and responsiveness to natural and anthropogenic *** dendrochronological methods,we studied how forest dynamic is related to land-use change and windstorms in two well-preserved laurel forests on Tenerife *** cores were collected from over 80 trees per stand at three stands per *** used ring-width series to estimate tree ages and calculate annual basal area increments(BAI),cumulative diameter increases,and changes indicative of released and suppressed *** tree species were found in all stands,with Laurus novocanariensis,Ilex canariensis and morella faya being the most common *** some individuals were over 100 years old,61.8%-88.9% of the trees per stand established between 1940 and 1970,coinciding with a post-war period of land abandonment,rural exodus and the onset of a tourism *** trees have shown growth rates larger than 1 cm diameter per year and most species have had increasing BAI trends over the past *** growth releases occurred after windstorms at both sites,but the effects of windstorms were site-dependent,with the 1958 storm affecting mainly the eastern tip of the island(Anaga massif)and the 1991 storm the western tip(Teno massif).Given the great ability of laurel forest trees to establish after land use cessation and to increase growth after local disturbances such as windstorms,passive restoration may be sufficient to regenerate this habitat in currently degraded areas.

microbial inoculants are of great importance in agro-ecology and plants. However, the symbiotic effectiveness of strains may vary between species or within the same species. Aim of the study was to select experimental microbial strains of national origin, to know its impact on growth of sweet sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) in greenhouse and sterile soil. Five strains of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AmF) and eight rhizobacteria (two of them mutagenized) were compared with non-inoculated plants as control. Variables measured were index of chlorophyll SPAD, plant height, stem diameter (from the middle section), fresh biomass from stem, leaf, panicle, radical, and stem sugars content (°Brix) of every two internodes. The results showed that in the majority of cases, microbial strains exceeded the values of variables compared with control plants. The highest values of chlorophyll (41.8 SPAD), stem diameter (13.5 mm) and total fresh biomass (144.3 g), were recorded with rhizobacterias BS410 (Herbaspirillum sp.), B2709 (Pseudomonas sp.) and B4m4 (Azospirillum sp.), respectively.
