铝颗粒由于具有能量密度高、易储存、燃烧过程不产生温室气体等优势,有望成为未来化石燃料替代的解决方案.本文建立了铝颗粒粉尘火焰的燃烧模型,其中考虑了相间传热、相变、表面化学反应、气相详细化学反应及辐射传热等过程,并针对铝颗粒粉尘对冲火焰开展了数值模拟研究.首先,通过仿真McGill大学的铝颗粒粉尘对冲火焰实验进行模型验证,并分析了实验中使用铝颗粒本身作为示踪粒子引起的气相速度测量误差,结果表明,数值模拟得到的离散相速度分布与实验结果基本一致,火焰传播速度的预测值也同实验数据吻合较好.当颗粒粒径小于10μm时,连续介质假设不再成立,相间传热模型必须考虑过度区机制,随着颗粒粒径的增加,火焰传播速度不断降低.随着对冲火焰拉伸率的增加,颗粒在火焰区的停留时间减少,并出现燃烧不完全的现象,粉尘火焰由双峰变为单峰结构.火焰传播速度随着拉伸率的增加而增大,通过线性外推可得到未拉伸的火焰传播速率约为29 cm/s.辐射引起的热损失会导致气相温度大幅降低,但辐射传热对颗粒的加热作用相对较小.

Periodicities in the emplacement of large igneous provinces through the Phanerozoic:Relations to ocean chemistry and marine biodiversity evolution

Large igneous provinces （LIPs） are considered a relevant cause for mass extinctions of marine life throughout Earth＇s history. Their flood basalts and associated intrusions can cause significant release of sO4 and CO2 and consequently, cause major environmental disruptions. Here, we reconstruct the long-term periodic pattern of LIP emplacement and its impact on ocean chemistry and biodiversity from δ34ssulfate of the last 520 Ma under particular consideration of the preservation limits of LIP records. A combination of cross-wavelet and other time-series analysis methods has been applied to quantify a potential chain of linkage between LIP emplacement periodicity, geochemical changes and the Phanerozoic marine genera record. We suggest a mantle plume cyclicity represented by LIP volumes （V） of V= （350-770） × 103km3sin（27πt/ 170 Ma）＋（300-650）× 103 km3 sin（2πt/64.5 Ma ＋ 2.3） for t= time in Ma. A shift from the 64.5 Ma to a weaker -28-35 Ma LIP cyclicity during the Jurassic contributes together with probably independent changes in the marine sulfur cycle to less ocean anoxia, and a general stabilization of ocean chemistry and increasing marine biodiversity throughout the last -135 Ma. The LIP cycle pattern is coherent with marine biodiversity fluctuations corresponding to a reduction of marine biodiversity of -120 genera/Ma at 600 x 103 km3 LIP eruption volume. The 62-65 Ma LIP cycle pattern as well as excursion in -34ssulfate and marine genera reduction suggest a not-vet identified found LIP event at - 440-450 Ma.

The effect of small variations of target hardness on the depth of penetration for nominally identical target material has not been addressed systematically in publications yet and is often neglected. An investigation of this issue for laboratory-scale long rod projectiles penetrating into semi-infinite rolled-homogeneous-armor steel targets was conducted. The tungsten-heavy-alloy penetrators were of length 90 mm and diameter6 mm. Five lots of armor steel with a nominal hardness range of 280–330 BHN provided material for the targets. The pursued approach consisted of hardness testing of the targets, in total 17 ballistic experiments at velocities in between 1250 m/s and 1780 m/s and data analysis.A linear regression analysis of penetration vs. hardness shows that a target hardness increase within the given range of 280–330 BHN may result in a reduction of penetration depth of about 5.8 mm at constant velocity. This is equal to a change of-12% at an impact velocity of 1250 m/s. A multiple linear regression analysis included also the influence of yaw angle and impact velocity. It shows that small yaw angles and slight variations of impact velocities provide a smaller variation of the semi-infinite penetration depths than a variation of target hardness within a typical specification span of 50 BHN. For such a span a change in penetration of approximately-4.8 mm due to hardness variation is found, whereas 1°of yaw angle or-10 m/s of velocity variation gives a change of about-1.0 mm respectively-0.9 mm. For the given example, the overwhelming part of the variation is to be attributed to hardness effects – 4.8 mm out of 5.8 mm(83%). For nominally identical target material the target hardness thus influences the ballistic test results more severely than the typical scatter in impact conditions.

serum amyloid P component(sAP)is present in seminal plasma,on spermatozoa,and in different tissues of the male reproductive tract,but its function is not *** aims of this study were to determine if the concentration of sAP in seminal plasma is associated with commonly assessed semen parameters and to investigate if sAP could be a new,indirect biomarker for these *** a cross-sectional study of 203 young volunteers,the concentration of sAP in seminal plasma was measured with a in-house developed enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** plots,Pearson’s correlation coefficients(r),and linear regression models were produced,and sAP showed a statistically significant correlation with sperm concentration(r=0.75),sperm number(r=0.68),semen volume(r=-0.19),progressive sperm motility(r=0.24),and sperm immotility(r=-0.20).When the study group was dichotomized,sAP could be used to discriminate samples with a sperm concentrationstic curves,the corresponding areas under the curves were 0.97,0.93,and 0.82,respectively,with Ps *** concentration of sAP in seminal plasma showed a strong,positive correlation with the concentration of spermatozoa in *** may be used as a new indirect potential biomarker for sperm concentration in fresh and in frozen,stored *** addition,it is envisaged that the assay could be developed into a home fertility test to differentiate between a low and a normal sperm concentration.

Millimetre-wave(mmWave)technology continues to draw great interest due to its broad applications in wireless communications,radar,and *** to pure electronic solutions,photonic-based mmWave generation provides wide bandwidth,low power dissipation,and remoting through low-loss ***,at high frequencies,two major challenges exist for the photonic system:the power roll-off of the photodiode,and the large signal linewidth derived directly from the ***,we demonstrate a new photonic mmWave platform combining integrated microresonator solitons and high-speed photodiodes to address the challenges in both power and *** solitons,being inherently mode-locked,are measured to provide 5.8 dB additional gain through constructive interference among mmWave beatnotes,and the absolute mmWave power approaches the theoretical limit of conventional heterodyne detection at 100 *** our free-running system,the soliton is capable of reducing the mmWave linewidth by two orders of magnitude from that of the pump *** work leverages microresonator solitons and high-speed modified uni-traveling carrier photodiodes to provide a viable path to chip-scale,high-power,low-noise,high-frequency sources for mmWave applications.
