Recent reports suggest that aging is not solely a physiological process in living beings;instead, it should be considered a pathological process or disease(Amorim et al., 2022). Consequently, this process involves a wide range of factors, spanning from genetic to environmental factors, and even includes the gut microbiome(Gm)(mayer et al., 2022). All these processes coincide at some point in the inflammatory process, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, at different degrees in various organs and systems that constitute a living organism(mayer et al., 2022;AguilarHernández et al., 2023).

Radiation-induced sarcomas (RIS) are rare but severe long-term complications of radiotherapy (RT). They typically arise years after exposure to ionizing radiation used to treat primary malignancies and complicate patient outcomes. Determining the risk associated with these radiation-induced cancers is challenging due to confounding factors such as lifestyle and genetic predisposition. Liposarcomas, which are the most common type of soft tissue sarcomas, originate from adipose tissue and can develop as a late complication of RT. Although they account for a significant portion of soft tissue sarcomas, radiation-induced liposarcomas are still considered rare, making them a noteworthy diagnostic and therapeutic concern. In this report, we present a rare case of radiation-induced dedifferentiated liposarcoma arising 12 years after RT for vulvar cancer. The patient presented with a mass in the groin, which was initially suspected to be a local recurrence. Imaging studies revealed a suspicious lesion on PET/CT, while mRI showed no significant findings. Histopathological evaluation confirmed the diagnosis of dedifferentiated liposarcoma. Surgical resection was performed with a focus on achieving negative margins. A literature review identified nine similar cases, with five being pleomorphic liposarcomas. The average time to presentation was 15 years (interval 3 - 47 years), with a mean radiation dose of 62 Gy. This case highlights the importance of long-term follow-up for cancer survivors and the need for vigilance in diagnosing secondary malignancies following RT.

The mobility edge(mE)is a crucial concept in understanding localization physics,marking the critical transition between extended and localized states in the energy *** localization scaling theory predicts the absence of mE in lower dimensional ***,the search for exact mEs,particularly for single particles in lower dimensions,has recently garnered significant interest in both theoretical and experimental studies,resulting in notable ***,several open questions remain,including the possibility of a single system exhibiting multiple mEs and the continual existence of extended states,even within the strong disorder ***,we provide experimental evidence to address these questions by utilizing a quasiperiodic mosaic lattice with meticulously designed nanophotonic *** observations demonstrate the coexistence of both extended and localized states in lattices with broken duality symmetry and varying modulation *** single-site injection and scanning the disorder level,we could approximately probe the mE of the modulated *** results corroborate recent theoretical predictions,introduce a new avenue for investigating mE physics,and offer inspiration for further exploration of mE physics in the quantum regime using hybrid integrated photonic devices.

The generation of multiphase porous electrode microstructures is a critical step in the optimisation of electrochemical energy storage *** work implements a deep convolutional generative adversarial network(DC-GAN)for generating realistic nphase microstructural *** same network architecture is successfully applied to two very different three-phase microstructures:A lithium-ion battery cathode and a solid oxide fuel cell anode.A comparison between the real and synthetic data is performed in terms of the morphological properties(volume fraction,specific surface area,triple-phase boundary)and transport properties(relative diffusivity),as well as the two-point correlation *** results show excellent agreement between datasets and they are also visually *** modifying the input to the generator,we show that it is possible to generate microstructure with periodic boundaries in all three *** has the potential to significantly reduce the simulated volume required to be considered“representative”and therefore massively reduce the computational cost of the electrochemical simulations necessary to predict the performance of a particular microstructure during optimisation.

In the developing embryo,nascent axons navigate towards their specific targets to establish the intricate network of axonal connections linking neurons within the mature nervous *** navigational systems comprising repulsive and attractive guidance cues form chemotactic gradients along the pathway of the exploring growth ***-bound receptors detect these gradients and determine the trajectory of the migrating growth *** contrast to their benevolent role in the developing nervous system,repulsive guidance receptors are detrimental to the axon’s ability to regenerate after injury in the *** this review we explore the essential and beneficial role played by the chemorepulsive Wnt receptor,Ryk/Derailed in axon navigation in the embryonic nervous system(the Yin function).Specifically,we focus on the role of Wnt5a/Rykmediated guidance in the establishment of two major axon tracts in the mammalian central nervous system,the corticospinal tract and the corpus *** studies have also identified Ryk as a major suppressor of axonal regeneration after spinal cord ***,we also discuss this opposing aspect of Ryk function in axonal regeneration where its activity is a major impediment to axon regrowth(the Yang function).

This paper presents two comparisons or tests for a Lagrangian model of zooplankton dispersion:numerical schemes and time ***,we compared three numerical schemes using idealized *** show that the precisions of the advanced Adams-Bashfold-moulton(ABm) method and the Runge-Kutta(RK) method were in the same order and both were much higher than that of the Euler ***,the advanced ABm method is more efficient than the RK method in computational memory requirements and time *** therefore chose the advanced ABm method as the Lagrangian particle-tracking ***,we performed a sensitivity test for time steps,using outputs of the hydrodynamic model,*** show that the time step choices depend on the fluid response time that is related to the spatial resolution of velocity *** method introduced by Oliveira et *** 2002 is suitable for choosing time steps of Lagrangian particle-tracking models,at least when only considering advection.

Novel method for the identification of the maximum solid loading suitable for optimal extrusion of ceramic pastes

Gadolinia-doped ceria ceramic pastes were formulated with different solid loadings and extruded using lab-scale *** force to maintain a constant ram speed of 10 mm/min was *** radial shrinkage after drying was proportional to the solid loading and this allowed the determination of the maximum solid loading by an extrapolation *** order to obtain the apparent viscosity of the pastes,a novel approach based on the analysis of the slope of the extrusion pressure plot versus distance covered by the ram,was formulated for the direct determination of the shear stress upon *** agreement of the determined maximum solid loading with values calculated by two existing models confirmed that the proposed approach was an alternative and reliable method to identify the upper limit of the solid loading range for the formulation of extrudable ceramic pastes.
