Total organic halogen(TOX) in human urine: A halogen-specific method.for human exposure stud.es

d.sinfection by-prod.cts（d.Ps） are a complex mixture of compound. unintentionally formed.as a result of d.sinfection processes used.to treat d.inking water. Effects of long-term exposure to d.Ps are mostly unknown and.were the subject of recent epid.miological stud.es. However,most bioanalytical method. focus on a select few d.Ps. In this stud., a new comprehensive bioanalytical method.has been d.veloped.that can quantify mixtures of organic halogenated.compound., includ.ng d.Ps, in human urine as total organic chlorine（TOCl）, total organic bromine（TOBr）, and.total organic iod.ne（TOI）. The optimized.method.consists of urine d.lution, ad.orption to activated.carbon, pyrolysis of activated.carbon, absorption of gases in an aqueous solution, and.halid. analysis with ion chromatography and.ind.ctively coupled.plasma-mass spectrometry. Spike recoveries for TOCl, TOBr, and.TOI measurements ranged.between 78% and.99%. Average TOCl, TOBr, and.TOI concentrations in five urine samples from volunteers who consumed.tap water were 1850, 82, and.21.0 μg/L as X^-, *** who consumed.spring water（control） had.TOCl, TOBr, and.TOI average concentrations in urine of 1090, 88, and.10.3 μg/L as X^-, respectively. TOCl and.TOI in the urine samples from tap water consumers were higher than the control. However, TOBr was slightly lower in tap water urine samples compared.to mineral water urine samples, ind.cating other sources of environmental exposure other than d.inking water. A larger sample population that consumes tap water from d.fferent cities and.mineral water is need.d.to d.termine TOCl, TOBr, and.TOI exposure from d.inking water.

Chronic liver d.sease is a major cause of morbid.ty and.mortality world.id. and.usually d.velops over many years, as a result of chronic inflammation and.scarring, resulting in end.stage liver d.sease and.its complications. The progression of d.sease is characterised.by ongoing inflammation and.consequent fibrosis, although hepatic steatosis is increasingly being recognised.as an important pathological feature of d.sease, rather than being simply an innocent bystand.r. However, the current gold.stand.rd.method.of quantifying and.staging liver d.sease, histological analysis by liver biopsy, has several limitations and.can have associated.morbid.ty and.even mortality. Therefore, there is a clear need.for safe and.noninvasive assessment mod.lities to d.termine hepatic steatosis, inflammation and.fibrosis. This review covers key mechanisms and.the importance of fibrosis and.steatosis in the progression of liver d.sease. We ad.ress non-invasive imaging and.blood.biomarker assessments that can be used.as an alternative to information gained.on liver biopsy.

在中国的南方地区夏季高温高湿，在温室中亦如此。降温措施的使用将使生产成本明显增加，而降温效果却并不都令人满意。研究发现中午关闭温室顶部通风，温室内温度将迅速升高至50℃，这将导致植物的伤害甚至死亡。而在设施内种植的主要目的是通过改善设施内气候条件与根部环境条件，从而获得比露天条件下生产出经济效益高的优质产品。另外，由生长基质组成的无土栽培方式现广泛应用于现代栽培和精细农业中。如果选择适宜的栽培基质，多数情况下其生产效益比土壤栽培好。一般地，植物对环境因素的反应是非线性的，并且包括2个或更多的环境刺激的反应通常是不叠加的。本研究的目的是研究高温对不同栽培系统下樱桃蕃茄在不同生长阶段的影响作用。通过确定西红柿在某一具体的生长阶段的极限温度，从而获得适宜的栽培系统以减轻植物的夏季热应激。另外，环境可维持在某一特定的条件下，植物自身可改变其周围的环境。本文简要介绍了樱桃蕃茄、研究用仪器设备、热应激及植物对热应激的生理反应。本试验在2002年夏季的6—9月在一个温室内设立了多种樱桃蕃茄栽培系统：土培、泥煤基质培、苔泥基质培、泥煤+珍珠岩基质培(3：2)、珍珠岩和营养液膜栽培(NFT)。樱桃蕃茄在播种35后移植到温室的三个(1、2、3)白天／夜晚的温度分别为25／20℃，35／25℃，和＞35／＞25℃的小型气候室内。研究了环境内气体的相互作用，结果表明温度与湿度成负线性关系(相关系数：0.894-0.972)、温度与CO2也成负线性关系(相关系数：0.668-0.786)。同时对植物的生长作了评估，结果发现植物的生长速度(茎的生长)随着植物的成长慢慢降低，茎的生长与栽培基质有关，节点间的长度受温度的影响。温度和基质的影响相互独立，但明显影响叶面的生长。研究了开花阶段的极限温度的影响作用，结果发现高温不仅延迟初期开花和繁殖期，甚至还严重影响了座果率。植物中水分状况通过植物叶面水势、叶面相对含水量、叶面叶绿素含量和空气／叶面温度梯度来估算。分析表明中午期间热应激和栽培基质的相互作用对叶面水势有显著影响。研究中发现在黎明和中午温度和基质对叶面水势的影响差异极显著，温度和基质对叶面的相对含水量的影响不显著，中午时环境温度对叶面和空气的温度梯度有强烈的影响，温度和基质的相互作用对叶面的叶绿素B的含量影响存在显著差异。同时测量了植物根部环境如温度、EC和 PH。EC随着温度的升高而降低，而PH值随着温度的升高而升高。 M～f－－－＊I7＝＝，xnM～Mped.HLAs－－－－d.－ lin＝－－～M－llerNrtrt－－－－MM＼6Z＿atAsl！。－，t1JpeMMM H％f ”］”yI／M y d.亿L一JI MM】／肉多卜丑凶多罗r电d.／年一匐JL的尸——IYd.呵J调巴．、《1——1氏r屯HJ＿L口由多二三二凶人／令人二L回”J／V洗掉话干夏季的栽僚方式探供指导。

Scrutiny of non-linear d.fferential equations Euler-Bernoulli beam with large rotational d.viation by AGM

The kinematic assumptions upon which the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory is found.d.allow it to be extend.d.to more ad.anced.analysis. Simple superposition allows for three-d.mensional transverse load.ng. Using alternative constitutive equations can allow for viscoelastic or plastic beam d.formation. Euler-Bernoulli beam theory can also be extend.d.to the analysis of curved.beams, beam buckling, composite beams and.geometrically nonlinear beam d.flection. In this stud., solving the nonlinear d.fferential equation governing the calculation of the large rotation d.viation of the beam （or column） has been d.scussed. Previously to calculate the rotational d.viation of the beam, the assumption is mad. that the angular d.viation of the beam is small. By consid.ring the small slope in the linearization of the governing d.fferential equation, the solving is easy. The result of this simplifica- tion in some cases will lead.to an excessive error. In this paper nonlinear d.fferential equations governing on this system are solved.analytically by Akbari-Ganji＇s method.（AGM）. Moreover, in AGM by solving a set of algebraic equations, complicated.nonlinear equations can easily be solved.and.without any mathematical operations such as integration solving. The solution of the problem can be obtained.very simply and.easily. Furthermore, to enhance the accuracy of the results, the taylor expansion is notneed.d.in most cases via AGM manner. Also, comparisons are mad. between AGM and.numerical method.（Runge- Kutta 4th）. The results reveal that this method.is very effective and.simple, and.can be applied.for other nonlinear problems.
