Although the liver has a remarkable regenerative capacity,sepsis-associated liver injury(sLI)is a complication often seen in intensive care *** to its role in immune and inflammatory regulation,the liver is particularly vulnerable during severe *** the global prevalence,causes,and management of sLI is essential to improve outcomes and reduce healthcare *** paper aims to explore these factors,with an emphasis on identifying effective strategies for clinical *** et al’s bibliometric analysis of 787 publications(745 original articles and 42 reviews,mostly in animal models)from 2000 to 2023 highlights the growing interest in sLI,focusing on oxidative stress,gut microbiota,and inflammatory *** components such as nuclear factor-kappa B and the NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3 inflammasome pathway,along with their links to gut microbiota imbalance and oxidative stress,are crucial for understanding sLI *** gut-liver axis,particularly the role of intestinal permeability and bacterial translocation in liver inflammation,is *** this context,bacterial translocation is especially relevant for critically ill patients,as it can exacerbate liver *** findings underscore the need for integrated care in intensive care units,prioritizing gut health and careful antibiotic use to prevent *** extensive research,there remains a lack of clinical trials to validate therapeutic *** abundance of experimental studies highlights potential therapeutic targets,stressing the need for high-quality randomized clinical trials to translate these findings into clinical practice.

The controllers of wind parks that are connected to weak grids can induce unstable oscillations near the fundamental *** phenomenon can be studied with equivalent impedances of the wind generators,which depend on their operational setpoints at the fundamental *** feasibility of such setpoint,i.e.,solution to the power flow,does not depend on the control ***,oscillations from unfeasible setpoints and control instabilities both occur at weak grids and near the fundamental *** letter presents an exploratory study to map the conditions where both phenomena occur,using sensitivity studies comprising multiple setpoints and control parameter *** results are visually presented as the regions which inform the configurations leading to unfeasible setpoints,and unstable control interaction *** the results,it can be observed that the trajectory of the eigenvalues in the Nyquist plots towards an unfeasible setpoint approaches a fundamental frequency instability.

Native grasslands in the Pampas of south America are increasingly being replaced by Eucalyptus and Pinus *** short rotation regimes used for the stands require high nutrient levels,with litterfall being a major source of nutrient *** model the litterfall production using climatic variables and assess the nutrient return in 14-year-old Eucalyptus grandis and Pinus taeda stands,we measured litter production over 2 years,using conical litter traps,and monitored climatic *** temperature,accumulated precipitation,and mean maximum vapor pres-sure deficit at the seasonal level influenced litterfall produc-tion by ***;seasonal accumulated precipitation and mean maximum temperature affected litterfall by *** regression tree modeling based on these climatic vari-ables had great accuracy and predictive power for ***(N=33;MAE(mean absolute error)=0.65;RMsE(root mean square error)=0.91;R^(2)=0.71)and ***(N=108;MAE=1.50;RMsE=1.59;R^(2)=0.72).The nutrient return followed a similar pattern to litterfall deposition,as well as the order of importance of macronutrients(***:Ca>N>K>Mg>P;***:N>Ca>K>Mg>P)and micronutrients(*** and ***:Mn>Fe>Zn>Cu)in both *** study constitutes a first approximation of factors that affect litterfall and nutrient return in these systems.

Upwelling coastal systems can be used to understand how dissolved oxygen and biological productivity control the accumulation of redox-sensitive metals in marine *** aluminium(Al),cadmium(Cd),iron(Fe),nickel(Ni),molybdenum(Mo),vanadium(V),total organic carbon(TOC),total nitrogen(TN)and total sulfur(Ts)contents in surficial sediment collected from different water depths(30,70,and 120 m)in three northern Chilean bays influenced by coastal upwelling and oxygen minimum zones(OMZs)were *** component analysis(PCA),cluster analysis,and spearman’s rank correlation were used to identify the mechanisms responsible for the redox-sensitive metal *** content of redox-sensitive metals and organic components in sediment increased with increasing water column depth,whereas lithogenic metals *** the Mejillones del sur and Caldera bays,the enrichment factors of the redox-sensitive metals showed enrichment for all metals with *** Cd and V enrichments are mainly the product of biogenic flow to the seabed,and the Mo and Ni enrichments are due to preservation under low subsurface oxygen *** reduction is not an important mechanism in the accumulation of redox-sensitive metals in the sediment of the three *** PCA showed that the behaviors of the redox-sensitive metals and organic components reflect differences in the effects of the OMZ in sediment along the coast of northern Chile,with a more intense OMZ in Mejillones del sur bay and weaker OMZs in Caldera and Inglesa ***,the high degree of enrichment in redox-sensitive metals in Caldera Bay can be attributed to the intense activity of the mining industry near the bay,a situation that produces geochemical behavior similar to that observed in Mejillones del sur Bay.
