structured light fields embody strong spatial variations of polarization,phase,and ***,characterization,and exploitation of such fields can be achieved through their topological ***-dimensional(3D)topological solitons,such as hopfions,are 3D localized continuous field configurations with nontrivial particle-like structures that exhibit a host of important topologically protected ***,we propose and demonstrate photonic counterparts of hopfions with exact characteristics of Hopf fibration,Hopf index,and Hopf mapping from real-space vector beams to homotopic hyperspheres representing polarization *** experimentally generate photonic hopfions with on-demand high-order Hopf indices and independently controlled topological textures,including Néel-,Bloch-,and antiskyrmionic *** also demonstrate a robust free-space transport of photonic hopfions,thus showing the potential of hopfions for developing optical topological informatics and communications.

Light–matter interactions can be strongly modified by the surrounding ***,we report on the first experimental observation of molecular spontaneous emission inside a highly non-local metamaterial based on a plasmonic nanorod *** show that the emission process is dominated not only by the topology of its local effective medium dispersion,but also by the non-local response of the composite,so that metamaterials with different geometric parameters but the same local effective medium properties exhibit different Purcell factors.A record-high enhancement of a decay rate is observed,in agreement with the developed quantitative description of the Purcell effect in a non-local *** engineered material non-locality introduces an additional degree of freedom into quantum electrodynamics,enabling new applications in quantum information processing,photochemistry,imaging and sensing with macroscopic composites.

Analysis of proliferative activity and the ability to neuron differentiation was performed in cultured cells of the brain and spinal cord of juvenile masu salmon Oncorhynchus masou. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) was used as a proliferative marker, while the markers of neuronal differentiation—a neuron protein HuCD, and a neuron-specific transcriptional factor with two DNA- binding sites Pax6—detected neurons. The results showed that cell proliferation occurred mainly in the suspension cell fraction. In monolayer, a few cells were only found to express PCNA. The results of morphological and immunohistochemical analysis allow us to conclude that proliferative activity in primary cultures from the O. masou brain is mainly connected with the suspension fraction of small cells. In contrast, a positive correlation between the cells expressing cystathionine β-synthase (CBs), a marker of H2s synthesis, and the cells expressing PCNA in the monolayer, indicates the participation of H2s in proliferative activity of neurons in primary cultures. The data obtained suggest that the hydrogen sulphide is also involved in the process of differentiation.

Composition of Hydrocarbons in Diamonds, Garnet, and Olivine from Diamondiferous Peridotites from the Udachnaya Pipe in Yakutia, Russia

Volatile components in diamonds, associated garnet (pyrope), and olivine from two extremely rare xenoliths of diamondiferous peridotites recovered from the Udachnaya kimberlite pipe in Yakutia, Russia, were analyzed by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–Ms) using a Focus DsQ II series single Quadrupole GC–Ms (Thermo scientific, UsA). These xenoliths are pyrope lherzolite and pyrope dunite based upon compositions of coexisting minerals. Unlike the pyrope lherzolite, which contained pyrope with moderate calcium (Ca)-component content (about 15 mol%), the dunite contained subcalcic chromium (Cr)-pyrope with low Ca-component content (less than 10 mol%). All investigated minerals contained dominating hydrocarbons and their derivatives represented by aliphatic (paraffins, olefins), cyclic (naphthenes, arenes), oxygenated (alcohols, ethers), and heterocyclic (dioxanes, furans) hydrocarbons;nitrogenated, chlorinated, and sulfonated compounds;carbon dioxide (CO2);and water (H2O). The relative concentration (rel%) of total hydrocarbon was 79.7 rel% for diamonds, 69.1 rel% for garnet, and 92.6 rel% for olivine, with a general amount of components ranging from 161 to 206. New data on volatiles in diamonds, associated garnet, and olivine suggest the presence of a wide spectrum of hydrocarbons along with nitrogen (N2), CO2, and H2O in some upper mantle areas.

Here the authors critically review the IPCC＇s claim that global warming is ＂very likely＂ caused by human activity： such a description underestimates the likelihood of the warming being due to this mechanism. Next examined are known alternative ＂natural＂ mechanisms which could give rise to the warming if, despite many claims, the man-made explanation was false because of compensation effects （greenhouse gases versus aerosol effects）. Also, a number of difficulties, as yet unresolved, in the human-induced warming explanation are considered.

The historical annual loading to,removal from,and cumulative burden in the Arctic Ocean for β-hexachlorocyclohexane(β-HCH),an isomer comprising 5e12%of technical HCH,is investigated using a mass balance box model from 1945 to *** the 76 years,loading occurred predominantly through ocean currents and river inflow(83%)and only a small portion via atmospheric transport(16%).β-HCH started to accumulate in the Arctic Ocean in the late 1940s,reached a peak of 810 t in 1986,and decreased to 87 t in 2020,when its concentrations in the Arctic water and air were~30 ng m^(-3)and~0.02 pg m^(-3),*** though β-HCH and α-HCH(60e70%of technical HCH)are both the isomers of HCHs with almost identical temporal and spatial emission patterns,these two chemicals have shown different major pathways entering the *** from α-HCH with the long-range atmospheric transport(LRAT)as its major transport pathway,β-HCH reached the Arctic mainly through long-range oceanic transport(LROT).The much higher tendency of β-HCH to partition into the water,mainly due to its much lower Henry's Law Constant than α-HCH,produced an exceptionally strong pathway divergence with β-HCH favoring slow transport in water and α-HCH favoring rapid transport in *** concentration and burden of β-HCH in the Arctic Ocean are also predicted for the year 2050 when only 4.4-5.3 t will remain in the Arctic Ocean under the influence of climate change.

Mechanochemical method for producing iron-based nitrogen-containing nanocrystalline alloys

Iron-based products account the main volume of powder metallurgy production. Nevertheless its strength and reliability are not enough in comparison with classical cast materials. so that is why making nanostructural powder materials allows to increase strength and extend the range of products. A principally new way of nanostructure production is possible by means of iron mechanical alloying with nitride-forming and nitrogen both at the same time. Unlike classical technology of internal nitrogenation, nitrogen saturation, in our case, occurs by whole volume at plastic deformation conditions. A review of experimental results of phase forming alloys in the Fe-Ni, Fe-Ni-Cr, Fe-Ni-N, Fe-Ni-Cr-N, Fe-Cr-Ni systems prepared by mechanical alloying are given. The influence of the technological parameters of mechanical alloying, atmosphere of mechanical activation on nitrogen content and phase composition of examined alloys has been studied. Experimental results of the influence of mechanical alloying technological parameters on degree of ammonia dissociation and nitrogen content in examined alloys are presented. Heat treatment influence of mechanically alloyed, nitrogen-containing alloys on their phase composition and structure are investigated. It was shown that using mechanical alloying, it’s possible to prepare high-alloyed iron-based alloys containing more than 1% of nitrogen. It was established that technology of mechanical alloying in ammonia atmosphere allows to prepare austenitic steels with nanocrystalline structure, which affords high value of yield stress. Association of rare sPINK1 gene mutation with another base substitution in chronic pancreatitis patients

AIM: To verify and expand the known spectrum of serine protease inhibitor Kazal type 1 (sPINK1) gene mutations in chronic pancreatitis. METHODs: DNA extracted from 172 chronic pancreatitis patients was assayed for sPINK1 gene mutations by PCR and DNA sequencing. A control cohort of 90 unrelated healthy individuals was analysed by the same methods for presence of common populational polymorphisms, and frequency of five-loci haplotypes was calculated. Linkages of gene aberrations in single sPINK1 gene copies were analysed by long-distance PCR followed by allele-specifi c PCR and DNA sequencing. REsULTs: The most frequent sPINK1 gene mutation N34s was found at a frequency of 6%. Furthermore, we detected the heterozygous intervening sequence (IVs) 3 + 2 T > C mutated gene in 2 German patients and 1 Macedonian chronic pancreatitis patient. In all three sPINK1 gene copies an additional rare base substitution was found: 5’untranslated region (UTR)-215 G > A. Poly-morphism analysis revealed that all three affected genes carried the same fi ve-loci haplotype. DNA sequencing of another chronic pancreatitis-related gene PRss1 (cationic trypsinogen) did not reveal any mutations in these 3 ***: We found in 3 (2%) of 172 chronic pancreatitis patients an IVs3 + 2 T > C sPINK1 gene mutation and a base substitution 5’UTR-215 G > A inthe same gene copy. Most probably the 5’UTR-215 G >A represents a rare polymorphism and not a mutationas previously concluded. Haplotype analysis suggests acommon origin of the IVs3 + 2 T > C mutation in thesepatients.
