The Family Preparedness for Landslide Disaster

In early 2017 landslides occurred in West Bandung Regency, West Java Province, one of which was in the Parongpong District area. Parongpong District is in the Lembang fault area which is on the disaster-prone map, according to the disaster risk index issued by national agency for disaster management, West Bandung is included in the high disaster risk category. The biggest landslide threat in Parongpong District is experienced by Cihanjuang Village and Cihanjuang Rahayu Village which are located in the hills. In both villages, landslides often occur during the rainy season. The purpose of this study was to determine the preparedness of families in Parongpong District in facing landslides, both during the pre-disaster, when the disaster occurred, and after the disaster occurred. The research was conducted in Cihanjuang Village and Cihanjuang Rahayu Village, which are hilly villages and the most at risk according to their topography. The research population was the head of the family who lived in Cihanjuang Village and Cihanjuang Rahayu Village, Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency, with a total sample of 120 respondents who were determined simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out by interviewing the head of the family using a questionnaire as a guide for door-to-door interviewed. The collected data were analyzed using percentage descriptive statistics. The results of the research on the readiness of families in the Parongpong District area in dealing with landslides, during the pre-disaster all (100%) did not make preparations, when a disaster occurred 31.9% carried out guard/guard and when after a disaster occurred 58.3% did community service.

Application of a simplified Grey Wolf optimization technique for adaptive fuzzy PID controller design for frequency regulation of a distributed power generation system

A Simplified Grey Wolf Optimizer(SGWO)is suggested for resolving optimization *** simplification in the original Grey Wolf Optimizer(GWO)method is introduced by ignoring the worst category wolves while giving priority to the better wolves during the search *** advantage of the presented SGWO over GWO is a better solution taking less execution time and is demonstrated by taking unimodal,multimodal,and fixed dimension test *** results are also contrasted to the Gravitational Search Algorithm,the Particle Swarm Optimization,and the Sine Cosine Algorithm and this shows the superiority of the proposed SGWO *** application in a Distributed Power Generation System(DPGS)with energy storage is then considered by designing an Adaptive Fuzzy PID(AFPID)controller using the suggested SGWO method for frequency *** DPGS contains renewable generation such as photovoltaic,wind,and storage elements such as battery and flywheel,in addition to plug-in electric *** is demonstrated that the SGWO method is superior to the GWO method in the optimal controller design *** is also seen that SGWO based AFPID controller is highly efficacious in regulating the frequency compared to the standard PID controller.A sensitivity study is also performed to examine the impact of the unpredictability in the parameters of the investigated system on system ***,the novelty of the paper is demonstrated by comparing with the existing publications in an extensively used two-area test system.

Impact of nutritional education on knowledge,attitude and practice regarding anemia among school children in Belgaum,India

Background:Anemia is a common public health problem throughout the globe with its main effect not only on health of people but also impact on socioeconomic development.A high prevalence of anemia among school children is an indication of a severe problem highlighting the necessity of proper action to prevent further *** study sought to study the impact of nutritional education on knowledge,attitude,and practice regarding anemia among school ***:This is an interventional study among school children of Kendriye Vidyalaya,No.2 Belgaum district,*** and self-administered questionnaires were used to know the knowledge,attitude and practice of student *** data were analyzed using paired t-test and McNemar ***:There was significant increment in the mean knowledge and attitude scores of the school children at the post-test *** increase of 51.2%in mean score of knowledge and overall increase of 20.7%in mean score of attitudes was found(P<0.05).Increase in frequency of consumption pattern of iron rich foods especially ragi,jaggery,green leafy vegetables and sprouted grains was ***:The nutritional education resulted in improvement of knowledge and change in attitude regarding anemia as well as increase in consumption of foods rich in ***,nutritional education is one of the cost-effective and sustainable method for lowering the cases of anemia.

Background:Understanding the pattern of COVID-19 infection progression is critical for health *** the exponential peak of cases,flattening the curve,and treating all of the active cases are the keys to success in reducing outbreak *** objective of this study was to determine the most effective model for predicting the peak of COVID-19 in Indonesia,using a deterministic ***:The SEI2RS model considers five strategies for control,namely:large-scale social restriction(u1),contact tracing(u2),mass testing(u3),case detection and treatment(u4),and the wearing of face masks(u5).Three scenarios were developed,each differentiated by the *** model used April 10,2020,and December 31,2020,as the initial and final ***:The simulation results indicated that the peak of COVID-19 cases for scenarios 1,2,and 3 occur on the 59th day with 33,151 cases,on the 38th day with 37,908 cases,and on the 40th day with 39,305 *** all of the scenarios,the decline phase shows a slow downward slope and about 8000 cases of COVID-19 still active by the end of ***:The study concludes that scenario 2,which consists of large-scale social restriction(u1),contact tracing(u2),case detection and treatment(u4),and the wearing of face masks(u5),is the most rational scenario to control COVID-19 spreading in Indonesia.

The yield potential of rice is seriously affected by heat stress due to climate change. Since rice is a staple food globally, it is imperative to develop heat-resistant rice varieties. Thus, a thorough understanding of the complex molecular mechanisms underlying heat tolerance and the impact of high temperatures on various critical stages of the crop is needed. Adoption of both conventional and innovative breeding strategies offers a long-term advantage over other methods, such as agronomic practices, to counter heat stress. In this review, we summarize the effects of heat stress, regulatory pathways for heat tolerance, phenotyping strategies, and various breeding methods available for developing heat-tolerant rice. We offer perspectives and knowledge to guide future research endeavors aimed at enhancing the ability of rice to withstand heat stress and ultimately benefit humanity.

Genetic Dissection of Grain Size Traits Through Genome-Wide Association Study Based on Genic Markers in Rice

Grain size plays a significant role in rice,starting from affecting yield to consumer preference,which is the driving force for deep investigation and improvement of grain size *** inheritance makes these traits complex to breed on account of several alleles contributing to the complete trait *** employed genome-wide association study in an association panel of 88 rice genotypes using 142 new candidate gene based SSR(cgSSR)markers,derived from yield-related candidate genes,with the efficient mixed-model association coupled mixed linear model for dissecting complete genetic control of grain size traits.A total of 10 significant associations were identified for four grain size-related characters(grain weight,grain length,grain width,and length-width ratio).Among the identified associations,seven marker trait associations explain more than 10%of the phenotypic variation,indicating major putative QTLs for respective *** allelic variations at genes OsBC1L4,SHO1 and OsD2 showed association between 1000-grain weight and grain width,1000-grain weight and grain length,and grain width and length-width ratio,*** cgSSR markers,associated with corresponding traits,can be utilized for direct allelic selection,while other significantly associated cgSSRs may be utilized for allelic accumulation in the breeding programs or grain size *** new cgSSR markers associated with grain size related characters have a significant impact on practical plant breeding to increase the number of causative alleles for these traits through marker aided rice breeding programs.

A hybrid stochastic fractal search and pattern search technique based cascade PI-PD controller for automatic generation control of multi-source power systems in presence of plug in electric vehicles

A hybrid Stochastic Fractal Search plus Pattern Search （hSFS-PS） based cascade PI-PD controller is suggested in this paper for Automatic Generation Control （AGC） of thermal, hydro and gas power unit based power systems in presence of Plug in Electric Vehicles （PEV）. Firstly, a single area multi-source power system consisting of thermal hydro and gas power plants is considered and parameters of Integral （I） controller is optimized by Stochastic FractaI Search （SFS） algorithm. The superiority of SFS algorithm over some recently proposed approaches such as optimal control, differential evolution and teaching learning based optimization techniques is demonstrated by comparing simulation results for the identical power system. To improve the system performance further, Pattern Search （PS） is subsequently employed. The study is further extended for different controllers like PI, PID, and cascaded PI-PD controller and the superiority of cascade PI-PD controller over conventional controllers is demonstrated. Then, cascade PI- PD controller parameters of AGC searched using the proposed hSFS-PS algorithm in presence of plug in electric vehicles. The study is also extended to an interconnected power system. It is seen from the comparative analysis that hSFS-PS tuned PI-PD controller in single and multi-area with multi sources improves the system frequency stability in complicated situations. Lastly, a three area interconnected system with PEVs with dissimilar cascade PI-PD controller in each area is considered and proposed hSFS- PS algorithm is used to tune the controller parameters in presence of nonlinearities like rate constraint of units, dead zone of governor and communication delay.

Interactive Effects of Elevated CO_2 and Ozone on Leaf Thermotolerance in Field-grown Glycine max

Humans are increasing atmospheric CO2, ground-level ozone （O3）, and mean and acute high temperatures. Laboratory studies show that elevated CO2 can increase thermotolerance of photosynthesis in C3 plants. O3-related oxidative stress may offset benefits of elevated CO2 during heat-waves. We determined effects of elevated CO2 and O3 on leaf thermotolerance of field-grown Glycine max （soybean, C3）. Photosynthetic electron transport （Фet） was measured in attached leaves heated in situ and detached leaves heated under ambient CO2 and O3. Heating decreased Фet, which O3 exacerbated. Elevated CO2 prevented O3-related decreases during heating, but only increased Фet under ambient O3 in the field. Heating decreased chlorophyll and carotenoids, especially under elevated CO2. Neither CO2 nor O3 affected heat-shock proteins. Heating increased catalase （except in high O3） and Cu/Zn-superoxide dismutase （SOD）, but not Mn- SOD; CO2 and O3 decreased catalase but neither SOD. Soluble carbohydrates were unaffected by heating, but increased in elevated CO2. Thus, protection of photosynthesis during heat stress by elevated CO2 occurs in field-grown soybean under ambient O3, as in the lab, and high CO2 limits heat damage under elevated O3, but this protection is likely from decreased photorespiration and stomatal conductance rather than production of heat-stress adaptations.

Global efforts to address malnutrition and hidden hunger, particularly prevalent in low- and middle-income countries, have intensified, with a focus on enhancing the nutritional content of staple crops like rice. Despite serving as a staple for over half of the world's population, rice falls short in meeting daily nutritional requirements, especially for iron(Fe) and zinc(Zn). Genetic resources, such as wild rice species and specific rice varieties, offer promising avenues for enhancing Fe and Zn content. Additionally, molecular breeding approaches have identified key genes and loci associated with Fe and Zn accumulation in rice grains. This review explores the genetic resources and molecular mechanisms underlying Fe and Zn accumulation in rice grains. The functional genomics involved in Fe uptake, transport, and distribution in rice plants have revealed key genes such as OsFRO1, OsIRT1, and OsNAS3. Similarly, genes associated with Zn uptake and translocation, including OsZIP11 and OsNRAMP1, have been identified. Transgenic approaches, leveraging transporter gene families and genome editing technologies, offer promising avenues for enhancing Fe and Zn content in rice grains. Moreover, strategies for reducing phytic acid(PA) content, a known inhibitor of mineral bioavailability, have been explored, including the identification of low-PA mutants and natural variants. The integration of genomic information, including whole-genome resequencing and pan-genome analyses, provides valuable insights into the genetic basis of micronutrient traits and facilitates targeted breeding efforts. Functional genomics studies have elucidated the molecular mechanisms underlying Fe uptake and translocation in rice. Furthermore, transgenic and genome editing techniques have shown promise in enhancing Fe and Zn content in rice grains through the manipulation of key transporter genes. Impact of COVID-19 Lockdown on Continuation of Treatment among the OPD Geriatric Patients

The aim of the study was to identify the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on continuation of treatment among the OPD geriatric ***tive research study has been conducted.A descriptive research design and convenience sampling technique were used to pick a total of 100 samples,(n=100).Self-structured socio demographic questionnaire and self structured interview method were used to collect the data in November 2020 at tertiary care hospitals,Bhubaneswar,Odisha,*** collected data were analyzed through descriptive and inferential *** of three categories of COVID-19 pandemic factors affecting in availing OPD services reveals that the psychological factor has more effect(73%)followed by hospital related factors(68%)and the availability of public transportation and resources(62%)has less effect in availing OPD services among patients during COVID-19 *** of chi square test reveals that there is no significant relationship of intensity of COVID-19 pandemic factors affecting in availing OPD services among patients with selected socio demographic *** findings suggest that facility for sanitization of hospital premises,facility for social distancing in registration counter,waiting area and other areas of hospital are not quite *** like availability of public transport,availability of healthcare personnel’s in OPD,adequacy of treatment facility,cost of medical services,availability of diagnostic services,are highly affecting geriatric patients in availing OPD services during COVID-19 pandemic and need to be taken care.
