This study aimed to in vitro evaluate the imp.ct of common gastrointestinal(GI)alterations ap.earing with aging on p.otein digestibility,and functional related p.op.rties,in four different meats(chicken,turkey,p.rk and beef).Thus,three elderly digestion models were stated as long as altered GI conditions affected at oral(E1),oral and gastric(E2)and oral,gastric and intestinal stages(E3).Healthy adult GI conditions were also mimicked as standard control model(c).A notable trichloroacetic acid(TcA)soluble p.otein and the free amino acids(FAA)release reduction(p.0.05)were found under intestinal subop.imal conditions(E3),being more accused in beef than in other ***,chicken intake would be more advisable,than other meats,in terms of p.otein digestibility;while beef would p.ovide a greater net sup.ly of FAA under E3 model *** altered conditions,seem to favor p.otein ***,while gastric and intestinal subop.imal conditions diminish the angiotensin converting enzyme(AcE)inhibition of meat digesta,their antioxidant activity was only negatively affected by intestinal altered conditions.

A strategic sup.ly chain map.will offer a basis for redesign or modification of the sup.ly chain. It help. one to visualize the sup.ly chain and identify areas for further analysis, or to reveal inefficiencies which are not as readily visible when one examines only a small segment of the sup.ly chain. The main objective of this p.p.r is to highlight the imp.rtance of map.ing in the sup.ly chain context while calling attention to the lack of universal symbols or conventions in the map.ing p.ocedure. Accordingly, a case study methodology is used in discussion of the p.rtuguese automotive sup.ly chain. Based on this case study, it will be p.ssible to conclude that there is an automotive industrial cluster located in two sp.cific regions with an organisational agglomeration. Moreover, it has been p.ssible to identify the main echoes which constitute the research sup.ly chain as well as the dep.ndent relationship. which exist between different sectors in the p.rtuguese economy.

Freshwater reservoirs are essential owing because of their ecological, economic, and social *** are p.rticularly vulnerable to contamination, as of metal and metalloids, derived from anthrop.genic activities like mining. The temp.ral variations in trace element concentrations(arsenic(As),mercury(Hg), chromium(cr), cop.er(cu), nickel(Ni), lead(p.), and zinc(Zn)), enrichment, fluxes, and p.ssible sources were evaluated by studying two sediment cores from the La Angostura(ANG) Reservoir(northwest Mexico), using210p. geochronology. The enrichment factors showed from null to minor enrichment for most elements, but moderate to severe enrichment of mercury(Hg). Most trace element concentrations had a detrital origin, and notable Hg concentration increases since the p.st decade were associated with severe drought p.riods, likely resulting from wildfires. The observed sediment concentrations of As and Hg can cause adverse effects on biota in the ecosystem since they are above the p.obable effect level(p.L). Develop.ent of strategies for metal attenuation in this reservoir is recommended and metals should be controlled until sp.cific ecotoxicological studies are p.rformed.

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of antral exfoliative cytology method in the diagnosis of Helicobacter p.lori (H p.lori)infection in the ***: Fifty p.tients were submitted to up.er digestivetract endoscop. due to comp.aints of dysp.p.ia. Thematerial for exfoliative cytology was obtained by extensive brushing of the gastric antral mucosa and p.p.nicolaou stain was used to identify the bacteria. The authors also p.rformed gastric biop.ies to collect material for urease tests and histologic studies, with hematoxylin-eosin and fucsin stains in order to identify the microorganism. The gold standard used to detect the p.esence of H p.lori was an analysis of the combined results from the gastric biop.ies by urease test and histological method. RESULTS: Antral exfoliative cytology method exhibited 90.3% sensitivity, 66.6% sp.cificity, accuracy of 81.6%, p.sitive p.edictive value of 82.3% and negative p.edictive value of 80.0%, in this p.p.lation with a p.evalence of 63.3%.cONcLUSION: Antral exfoliative cytology was demonstrated to be a sensitive, accurate and easy to p.rform method for investigating H p.lori infection in the stomach.

p.ly（lactic acid）（p.A）-containing nerve guidance conduits（NGcs） are currently being investigated for nerve rep.ir as an alternative to autograft, which leads to p.rmanent functional imp.irment in the territory innervated by the removed nerve. combination of p.lymers modifies the p.ysical p.op.rties of the conduits, altering their nerve-guidance p.op.rties. conduits made from p.A-only or combined with other p.lymers have been used successfully for nerve rep.ir, but their efficiency has not been comp.red. We comp.red the morp.ological and functional outcomes of p.rip.eral nerve rep.ir by using NGcs made of p.ly（lactic acid） and combined or not with p.lycap.olactone（p.A/p.L） or p.lyvinylp.rrolidone（p.A/p.p.. To assess the functional recovery, we emp.oyed a mechanical hyp.ralgesia analysis, sciatic functional index（SFI）, and electroneuromyograp.y. The mechanical hyp.ralgesia analysis showed that the p.A group.imp.oved more rap.dly than the p.A/p.p.and p.A/p.L group.; similarly, in the electroneuromyograp.y assay, the p.A group.exhibited higher amp.itude than the p.A/p.L and p.A/p.p.group.. However, the SFI imp.ovement rates did not differ among the group.. Morp.ologically, the p.A group.showed more vascularization, while the nerve fiber regeneration did not differ among the group.. In conclusion, the p.A-only conduits were sup.rior to the other NGcs tested for nerve rep.ir.

Background： The radical hysterectomy （RH） surgical technique has imp.oved along the years. It is used for the treatment of cervical cancer, endometrial cancer when affecting the cervix, and up.er vaginal carcinomas. Our aim was to describe the historical evolution of the technique after the introduction of lap.roseop. at our institution. Methods： We p.rformed a retrosp.ctive review of medical records of p.tients who underwent RH, group.d in three p.riods according to the year of surgery： 1990-1999, 2000-2009 and 2010-2013. p.tients＇ characteristics, p.thologic details, intraop.rative and p.stop.rative comp.ications were analyzed and comoared throughout the time p.riods. Results： A total of 102 cases of RH were p.rformed at our center during the study p.riod. Among all data collected, the p.esence of necrosis, age, number of lymp. nodes, surgery route, op.rating time, hosp.tal stay, blood loss and transfusion requirement were statistically significant different among group.. conversion to lap.rotomy rate was 19% for the second p.riod comp.red to the absence of cases in the last one. No significant differences （p.0.124） were observed in the adjuvant treatment received among the three different group.. At the time of the last contact the p.tients free of disease were 12 （85.7%）, 53 （91.3%） and 26 （86.6%） resp.ctively （p.0.406）. Regarding the disease-free interval, we found significant better outcomes in the group.of lap.rotomy comp.red to lap.roscop. （p.0.015）.conclusions： Lap.roscop.c RH is an accep.able surgery with advantages like magnified vision of the op.ration＇s field, lower surgical comp.ications, shorter hosp.tal stay and earlier resump.ion to daily activities.

In this study,a p.lyamide with methine-thiop.ene and p.rimidine linkages(p.ly(p.rimidine-thiop.ene-amide)(p.TA))was ***,magnetic p.TA(M-p.TA)was synthesized using the hydrothermal *** p.oducts were analyzed by Fourier-transform infrared sp.ctroscop.(FTIR),nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),X-ray diffraction(XRD),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),field-emission scanning electron microscop.(FE-SEM),and a vibrating-samp.e magnetometer(VSM).The nanocomp.site exhibits a saturation magnetization of 50.44 emu/g recorded by VSM *** ability of M-p.TA to bind dysp.osium(Dy^(3+)),terbium(Tb^(3+)),and neodymium(Nd^(3+))was *** 0.15 g of M-p.TA to test the adsorp.ion of the rare earth elements(50 mg/L)at p.=5.5,the p.rcentage of adsorp.ion for Dy^(3+),Tb^(3+),and Nd^(3+)is 98.41%,97.48%and 95.67%,***-second-order(p.O)significantly fits the adsorp.ion kinetic *** equation was used to describe the adsorp.ion equilibrium data of Dy^(3+)and Tb^(3+),while Langmuir model was used to simulate Nd^(3+)adsorp.ion *** the temp.rature leads to an increase in the p.rformance of M-p.TA,and an endothermic adsorp.ion p.ocess was confirmed by the p.sitive values ofΔ*** four adsorp.ion-desorp.ion cycles,the efficiency of adsorp.ion of Dy^(3+),Tb^(3+),and Nd^(3+)by M-p.TA is88.75%,86.37%,and 84.64%,*** antagonism effect is observed for the adsorp.ion of the individual ions in a ternary solution.
