in this article,we explored the role of adipose tissue,especially mesenteric adipose tissue and creeping fat,and its association with the gut microbiota in the pathophysiology and progression of crohn’s disease(cD).cD is a form of inflammatory bowel disease characterized by chronic inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract,influenced by genetic predisposition,gut microbiota dysbiosis,and environmental *** microbiota plays a crucial role in modulating immune response and intestinal inflammation and is associated with the onset and progression of ***,visceral adipose tissue,particularly creeping fat,a mesenteric adipose tissue characterized by hypertrophy and fibrosis,has been implicated in cD pathogenesis,inflammation,and *** bacteria from the gut microbiota may translocate into mesenteric adipose tissue,contributing to the formation of creeping fat and influencing cD *** creeping fat may be a protective barrier against bacterial invasion,its expansion can damage adjacent tissues,leading to *** gut microbiota through interventions such as fecal microbiota transplantation,probiotics,and prebiotics has shown potential in managing ***,more research is needed to clarify the mechanisms linking gut dysbiosis,creeping fat,and cD progression and develop targeted therapies for microbiota modulation and fat-related complications in patients with cD.

Endoscopic ultrasound elastography strain histograms in the evaluation of patients with pancreatic masses

AiM: To investigate the accuracy of the strain histogram endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)-based method for the diagnostic differentiation of patients with pancreatic masses. METHODS: in a prospective single center study, 149 patients were analyzed, 105 with pancreatic masses and 44 controls. Elastography images were recorded using commercially available ultrasound equipment in combination with EUS linear probes. Strain histograms(SHs) were calculated by machine integrated software in regions of interest and mean values of the strain histograms were expressed as Mode 1(over the mass) and Mode 2(over an adjacent part of pancreatic tissue, representing the reference area). The ratio between Mode 2 and Mode 1 was calculated later, representing a new variable, the strain histogram ratio. After the final diagnosis was established, two groups of patients were formed: a pancreatic cancer group with positive cytology achieved by fine needle aspiration puncture or histology after surgery(58 patients), and a massforming pancreatitis group with negative cytology and follow-up after 3 and 6 mo(47 patients). All statistical analyses were conducted in SPSS 14.0(SPSS inc., chicago, iL, United States).rESULTS: results were obtained with software for strain histograms with reversed hue scale(0 represents the hardest tissue structure and 255 the softest). Based on the receiver operating characteristics(rOc) curve coordinates, the cut-off point for Mode 1 was set at the value of 86. Values under the cut-off point indicated the presence of pancreatic malignancy. Mode 1 reached 100% sensitivity and 45% specificity with overall accuracy of 66%(95%ci: 61%-66%) in detection of pancreatic malignant tumors among the patients with pancreatic masses. The positive and negative predictive values were 54% and 100%, respectively. The cut-off for the new calculated variable, the SH ratio, was set at the value 1.153 based on the rOc curve coordinates. Sustainable tourism,as an integral part of sustainable development,emerged as a logical outcome of preventing the uncontrolled and excessive use of tourism resources and *** study analyzes whether mountain tourism development in Serbia can be sustainable and feasible in the long *** the heterogeneity of mountains in Serbia in terms of tourism development,the subject of this research is the achieved level of sustainable tourism development in mountains in the most developed and most visited region in Serbia-sumadija and Western Serbia:Zlatibor,Kopaonik,Tara,Zlatar,Mokra Gora and Go?.The sustainable tourism development level was analyzed by using five groups of the EU’s comparative indicators:economic,social,cultural,environmental and tourist satisfaction *** results showed that the development of tourism in the examined mountains is not fully aligned with sustainable *** tourist satisfaction indicator has the most acceptable values,which is a good basis for further harmonization of tourism development on the principles of *** indicators,especially the ratio of overnight stays and accommodation capacities,show the most unacceptable values,which indicate the need for implementing changes in the process of tourism development in the coming *** analysis of sustainable tourism in mountain areas in sumadija and the Western Serbia undoubtfully points out that it is necessary to significantly change the current tourism product portfolio,which implies harmonizing mountain tourism development with global ***,a comparative analysis that looks at the degree of sustainability of mountain tourism in some countries of the Alpine region,such as Switzerland,Austria and Slovenia,contributes to *** more intensive development of tourism throughout the year would significantly improve indicators of sustainable tourism in all analyzed mountain areas of Sumadija and Western *** would improve the

An understanding of the thermodynamics of the complexation process utilized in sustaining drug release in clay matrices is of great *** characterisation techniques as well as isothermal calorimetry were utilized in investigating the adsorption process of a model cationic drug(diltiazem hydrochloride,DiL)onto a pharmaceutical clay system(magnesium aluminium silicate,MAS).X-ray powder diffraction(XrPD),attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(ATrFTir)and optical microscopy confirmed the successful formation of the DiL-MAS *** quantification from the complexes demonstrated variable behaviour in the differing media used with DiL degrading to desacetyl diltiazem hydrochloride(Dc-DiL)in the 2 M Hcl *** also,the authors report for the first time two binding processes that occurred for DiL and MAS.A competitor binding model was thus proposed and the thermodynamics obtained suggested their binding processes to be enthalpy driven and entropically *** information is of great importance for a formulator as care and consideration should be given with appropriate media selection as well as the nature of binding in complexes.

Elesclomol (ELc) is an anticancer drug inducing mitochondria cytotoxicity through reactive oxygen ***,for the first time,we encapsulate the poorly water soluble ELc in monoolein-based cubosomes stabilized with Pluronic *** uptake and nanocarrier accumulation close to the mitochondria with sub-micrometer distance is identified via three-dimensional (3D) confocal microscopy and edge-to-edge compartment *** monitor the therapeutic effect of the ELc nanocarrier,we apply for the first time,label-free time-lapse multi-photon fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (MP-FLiM) to track NAD(P)H cofactors with sub-cellular resolution on live cells exposed to an anticancer *** in vitro cytotoxicity is verified when loading the pre-complexed ELc with copper (ELc-cu).importantly,for equivalent copper concentration,cubosomes loaded with ELc-cu show higher cytotoxicity compared to the free *** novel nanocarrier shows promising features for systemic ELc-cu administration,and furthermore we establish the MP-FLiM technique for the assessment of anticancer drug delivery systems.
