Reworked detrital sediments were discovered in the syn-rift to post-rift Cretaceous to Quaternary(Pleistocene)detrital deposits of the Douala coastal sub-basin in the eastern margin of the South Atlantic Ocean at West *** contribution presents the geochemical,mineralogical,and sedimentological data to constrain the origin of these reworked *** investigated samples are characterized by the high values of Plagioclase Index of Alteration(PIA,97.83–99.90),Chemical Index of Alteration(CIA,71.9–99.08),and Chemical Index of Weathering(CIW,98.67–99.90).Data gleaned from these indices suggest that the reworked sediments and their potential source rocks experienced severe *** A-CN-K plot along with the mineralogical indicates a probably post-depositional *** high light rare earth elements(LREE)/heavy rare earth elements(HREE)ratios(15.82–79.13)suggest that the reworked were mainly derived from felsic igneous *** interpretation is further confirmed by the Zr versus TiO2,TiO2/Al2O3,Th/Co versus La/Sc,and La/Th versus Th/Yb plots,which indicate felsic igneous and silicic source ***,the high variability of LREE/HREE ratios(15.82–79.13)and the positive Eu anomalies(1.10–1.32)of studied samples could indicate a little contribution of mafic source *** of the distribution of the heavy minerals(***,aluminum silicate,and rutile)revealed that these felsic and silicic source rocks are mainly granite and gneiss,probably belonging to the Nyong Group and the Western part of the Neoproterozoic Yaounde *** morphoscopic analyses of the host rocks(very angular to angular shapes)have revealed that the reworked sediments have proximal to subproximal onshore origins,probably from former sedimentary deposits,as is indicated by variation of their *** tectonic discriminant diagram indicates the Oceanic Island Arc and Active Continental Margin which are inconsistent with the geological history of the Doual

Design framework for robotic surgery wards at hospitals:Computational implementation

Robotic surgery is one of the most recent technologies in healthcare building *** to the design complexity of Robotic surgery wards,computational implementations are being developed to either measure the effect of inserting advanced technologies as Electronic medical recorders and tele surgery,or evaluate design alternatives on healthcare *** paper presents a design framework that responds to the need for coordinating design phases for Robotic Surgery Wards(RSWs)*** proposed design framework for RSWs can generate functional RSW alternatives and more than one solution for each *** framework has been structured based on the main architectural considerations of RSWs which are geom etric and topological,the economic considerations,specific developed pools for shape and corridor patterns,and the theory of,fShape Grammars"has been utilized to compute the framework to generate a vast number of design ***,a computational implementation has been established to assist designers in early design *** validation for the applications of the developed framework and implementation has been conducted by using reference examples of *** main finding in this paper is providing healthcare building designers with a computational implementation that generates RSW alternative computationally based on specific shape and cost levels.

This study presents a correlation-based approach for predicting the compressibility of sandstone reservoir *** study proposes a matrix of new empirical equations that significantly improve the precision of measuring the pore volume compressibility,with the most optimal fit of results based on a cubic polynomial *** accuracy of the calculations was validated through comparison with actual data using root mean square method,and the suggested correlations significantly enhance the precise prediction of rock compressibility in sandstone *** this study,the source of data collection is consolidated and unconsolidated sandstone from East Asia offshore ***,variations in compressibility with net overburden pressure over the course of the field's lifespan have been *** results demonstrate the application of regression analysis in establishing a network of linkages between independent and dependent *** proposed correlations for consolidated and unconsolidated sandstones offer a remarkable improvement in the accurate calculation of rock compressibility compared to traditional laboratory procedures,with an average error of 2.5%compared to 5-10%for laboratory *** approach of this study offers a cost-effective and time-efficient alternative to remarkedly enhance the overall performance of sandstone reservoirs in the oil and gas industry.

Background:Closure of an atrial septal defect(ASD)reduces right-side heart volumes by abolishing shunting with simultaneous improvement of the left ventricle(LV)ﬁlling and functions due to ventricular interdependence,thereby improving ***,studies conducted on atrial volume changes after ASD closure are *** magnetic resonance(CMR)is considered as the gold standard method for measuring cardiac volume and ***:We aimed to study the effect of transcatheter and surgical closure of secundum ASD on cardiac volumes and systolic functions as well as the fate of tricuspid regurgitation(TR),using CMR ***:We prospectively enrolled 30 adult patients with isolated secundum ASD who were referred to ASD *** evaluation of cardiac chambers indexed volumes,systolic function,myocardial mass index,and tricuspid regurgitant fraction were done at before and 6 months after ***:RV volumes decreased in both groups when compared to baseline(p-value 0.001),the device group had more reduction in volumes and more improvement in RV function after closure(p-value 0.001)when compared to the surgical *** changes in the RV mass index were insigniﬁcant between both groups(p-value 0.31).Functional TR improved to the same extent in both *** ventricular end diastolic volume index(LVEDVI)and LV mass index increased sig-niﬁcantly in both groups when compared to baseline in both groups but with no difference between groups p-value 0.01),left ventricular end systolic volume index(LVESVI)changes were insigniﬁ*** systolic function improved in patients who underwent device closure only(63.53±3.85 vs.67.13±4.34,p-value 0.01).There was a signiﬁcant reduction in right atrial(RA)volumes and an insigniﬁcant decrease in left atrial(LA)volumes,with no difference between ***:Transcatheter and surgical secundum ASD closure resulted in volumetric changes in some cardiac chambers with better improvement in bi-ventricular

The current review explores the role of emerging molecular contributing factors in liver carcinogenesis on top of hepatitis C virus(HCV). Here we will try to discuss the role genetic and epigenetic factors in pathogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma. Understanding the role of these factors will help in discovering the mystery of liver carcinogenesis on top of chronic HCV infection. Moreover, use of the studied molecular factors will provide the hepatologists with tailored diagnostic promising biomarkers and flatten the way for establishment of emerging molecular treatment based on exploring the molecular subscription of this aggressive liver cancer.

Development and Modeling of Remotely Operated Scaled Multi-wheeled Combat Vehicle Using System Identification

This paper describes the development and modeling of a remotely operated scaled multi-wheeled combat vehicle(ROMWCV)using system identification methodology for heading angle *** vehicle was developed at the vehicle dynamics and crash research(VDCR)Lab at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology(UOIT)to analyze the characteristics of the full-size *** such vehicles,the development of controllers is considered the most crucial *** this paper,the ROMWCV is developed *** experimental test was carried out to record and analyze the vehicle input/output signals in open loop system,which is considered a multi-input-single-output(MISO)***,a fuzzy logic controller(FLC)was developed for heading angle *** experiments showed that it was feasible to represent the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle using the system identification *** estimation and validation results demonstrated that the obtained identified model was able to explain 88.44%of the output *** addition,the developed FLC showed a good heading angle tracking.

用一釜水热合成法制备了硫化铜/还原氧化石墨烯纳米复合材料,改变前驱体中石墨烯含量,得到具有不同石墨烯含量的纳米复合材料。所制备的纳米复合材料首先和聚偏氟乙烯粘结剂混合,再涂覆在SnO2 _(x-)Fx基体上,得到以CdS敏化TiO2为负极的量子点太阳能电池的对电极,并与传统的Cu2 S/Cu对电极进行比较。用场发射扫描电子显微镜、X-射线衍射、拉曼光谱、循环伏安和阻抗谱技术表征了纳米复合材料对电极的微观结构和性能。结果表明:硫化铜/还原氧化石墨烯纳米复合材料优于Cu2 S/Cu对电极。前驱体中石墨烯的含量显著影响了硫化铜纳米晶的化学计量比和形貌。当前驱体石墨烯含量在中等水平下,获得了具有更多供S2_(-x)离子还原的活性位的优化的硫化铜/还原氧化石墨烯纳米复合材料。以此优化的纳米复合材料为对电极制备的量子点太阳能电池在100 mW/cm2的光照强度下具有高的、稳定的和可重复的_(2.)36%的能量转化效率,高于用Cu2 S/Cu为对电极的能量转化效率。此性能的提升归因于硫化铜纳米晶和导电的还原氧化石墨烯之间的协同作用,还原氧化石墨烯充当共催化剂和导电促进剂,降低对电极的内阻并加快多硫化物的还原。

这项研究工作提出了一个完全基于机器学习算法的高效,可靠和强大的LPR系统。我们引入了一种新的分割中国车牌的方法,使用强大的深度学习技术而不是传统的数字图像处理技术。首先,利用传统的数字图像处理技术对输入的车牌图像进行预处理:将输入图像转换为灰度图,然后进行倾斜检测和校正。其次,使用训练好的卷积神经网络(CNN)对车牌进行分割并分离字符,使得每个字符得到一张图像。这些字符可以使用任何字符识别模块进行识别和分类。所提出的车牌分割方法简单直观,复杂度低,可以认为是一些传统数字图像处理车牌分割方法的较好选择。此外,所提出的分割方法的主要思想具有良好的可扩展性,使其可以容易地扩展到任何种类和格式的车牌。除车牌分割外,字符识别和分类被认为是当前LPR系统最重要的部分之一。由于传统字符识别技术的识别质量低和鲁棒性差,这些技术逐渐被强大的深度学习模块(如卷积神经网络)所取代。卷积神经网络在字符识别方面表现出令人满意的能力,并且胜过大多数其他可用的模型。由于中文牌照包含中文和字母数字字符,因此需要可靠,强大且高效的CNN来有效完成字符识别任务。在这项研究工作中,我们提出了一种基于Darknet架构的高效CNN模型来进行字符识别。通过卷积层和最大池化层,提取输入字符图像的特征,然后送到softmax层进行分类。为了避免训练过程中的过度拟合问题,采用了 dropout正则化技术。我们使用了 12000个字符图像的数据集来训练和测试整个LPR模型。实验结果表现出令人满意的性能,最终达到97.45%的测试精度。

Objective: To investigate the protective effect of purslane with carbamazepine ***: Male albino rats were modulated by pilocarpine to be *** the normal and epileptic rats were treated with carbamazepine, purslane or carbamazepine plus purslane, with separate non-treated control groups for both normal and epileptic ***: The data from the current study showed amelioration in amino acids and electrolytes in the epileptic rats treated with purslane and carbamazepine, with this amelioration occurring without decreasing the fertility hormones(testosterone,dehydroepiandrosterone, luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone).Purslane treatments also prevented the increase in *** decreased epileptic hyperexcitability with purslane was evidenced by decreased glial fibrillary acidic protein and lipid ***: Natural products like purslane could be used with the highly repetitive drugs like carbamazepine to reduce or prevent its side-effects.

Herbal extracts counteract cisplatin-mediated cell death in rat testis

Aim： To evaluate the protective effects of ginger （Gin） and roselle （Ros） against testicular damage and oxidative stress in a cisplatin （CIS）-induced rodent model. Their protective effects against CIS-induced apoptosis in testicular and epididymal sperms is also investigated. Methods： Ethanol extracts of Gin or Ros （1 g/***） were given orally to male albino rats for 26 days. This period began 21 days before a single CIS intraperitoneal injection （10 mg/kg body weight）. Results： Gin or Ros given orally significantly restored reproductive function. Both tested extracts notably reduced the CIS-induced reproductive toxicity, as evidenced by restoring the testis normal morphology. In Gin and Ros, the attenuation of CIS-induced damage was associated with less apoptotic cell death both in the testicular tissue and in the sperms. CIS-induced alterations of testicular lipid peroxidation were markedly improved by these plant extracts. Conclusion： The present results provide further insights into the mechanisms of protection against CIS-induced reproductive toxicity and confirm the essential anti-oxidant potential of both examined extracts. （Asian J Androl 2008 Mar; 10： 291-297）
