Identification of precise hypocenter location is useful in order to improve the faults plane orientation and seismic zone analysis. In the study area, relocated hypocenter of earthquakes in Koyna-Warna region (KWR) from the short period recorded data from 6th January 2010 to 28th May 2010 by using Cross-Correlation waveform results in Double Difference Hypocenter method [1]. The results show the significant improvement in hypocenter location and orientation in earthquake hypocenters, which is correlated with local faults plane orientation in study region. From the observations the earthquake hypocenters are lying in the depth between 3 to 8 km. The result which identified three faults plane orientation in NNW-SSE direction and also identified new fractures in NE-SW directions between the faults plane orientation with short duration data sets the first time in India.

Nepal and Japan, both are multi-hazard prone countries having experience of devastating disasters. It is difficult, if not impossible, to stop natural hazard events at source. However, the impact can be reduced significantly by preventing them from turning into disasters. The impact of disasters can vary depending on the capacity to handle the situation;and the capacity depends on the level of preparedness and mitigation measures taken in advance. Japan has set example for the rest of the world when it comes to Disaster Risk Management (DRM). Recovery and reconstruction after disasters are not just to develop the area as it was earlier, but it has to be taken as an opportunity for developing better than earlier, which is called as “Build Back Better”. This concept was raised by Japanese Government in UN World conference, Sendai in 2015 [1]. Dynamic, evolutionary and proactive DRM policy and plans with innovation, and the use of science and technology to find solutions, and effective implementation of the policy and plans, coupled with the culture of safety among the citizens, and the spirit of never give up “Nana KarobiYa Oki” (Seven times fall down, Eight times get up), are the unique features that every country should learn from Japan’s DRM mechanism. This paper is an effort to buy-in the good practices from Japan to improve DRM system in Nepal. It is a product of three-month intensive research in the University of Tokyo under a PhD research that consisted of reviewing existing DRM documents and several interactive meetings with stakeholders in Japan.

目标确定同时使用苯二氮类药物和阿片类药物的趋势,确定这些趋势对阿片类药物过量导致的住院和急诊就诊的影响,提出修改建议。参与者:在研究期间,18~64岁的私人投保人连续参加医疗和药房福利健康计划的病人,并且至少接受过一张阿片类药物的处方。干预:同时使用苯二氮类药物/阿片类药物,定义为每种药物处方所涵盖的时间段内至少有一天重叠。主要观察结局指标:使用苯二氮类药物的阿片类药物使用者的年度百分比;每年发生的急诊就诊和阿片类药物过量住院事件。结果:阿片类药物使用者中在2001年使用苯二氮卓类药物的有9%,2013年增加到17%(相对增加80%)。这种增加主要是间断性阿片类药物使用者的增加,而非长期的阿片类药物使用者。与未使用苯二氮卓类药物的阿片类药物使用者相比,同时使用这两种药物与急诊室留观或阿片类药物过量住院相关的风险增加(校正比值比2.14,95%置信区间2.05-2.24;P<0.001)。间断性阿片类药物使用者的急诊室或住院病人阿片类药物过量的校正比值比为1.42(1.33-1.51;P<0.001),长期阿片类药物使用者为1.81(1.67-1.96;P<0.001)。如果这种关联是因果关系,那么消除同时使用两种药物的情况可以减少阿片类药物使用和阿片类药物过量住院病人因急诊就诊的风险,估计有15%(95%置信区间14-16)。结论:从2001年到2013年,在美国大量私人保险病人样本中,苯二氮类药物和阿片类药物的并用显着增加,并且导致总体人群阿片类药物过量使用的风险。

Many problems in physics like reconstruction of the radially distributed emissivity from the line-of-sight projected intensity, the 3-D image reconstruction from cone beam projections in computerized tomography, etc. lead naturally, in the case of radial symmetry, to the study of Abel’s type integral equation. Obtaining the physically relevant quantity from the measured one requires, therefore the inversion of the Abel’s integral equation. The aim of this letter is to present a user friendly algorithm to invert generalized Abel integral equation by using homotopy perturbation method. The stability of the algorithm is analysed. The validity and applicability of this powerful technique is illustrated through various particular cases which demonstrate its efficiency and simplicity in solving these types of integral equations.

可因氏越橘又名调料九里香(Murraya koenigii,芸香科,九里香属),是一种常用的药用植物,在印度阿育吠陀医学中有数百年的使用历史。这种植物的叶子、果实、根及树皮均富含咔唑生物碱。已有的很多研究报道这些生物碱具有多种药理活性如抗肿瘤、抗病毒、抗炎、止泻、利尿、抗氧化等。除了这些药理活性,该植物还具有多种多样的生物活性。可因氏越橘作为一种能够治疗多种疾病的有价值的药用植物,有关其植物化学及药理学的研究数量众多,因此有必要对其作一系统的综述。本文对有关可因氏越橘的植物化学、药理学、临床及基础研究进行了系统的整理,以期更全面地发掘其作为药用植物的价值。

The two major sources which are contributing to marine pollution are natural processes as well as anthropogenic activities. The natural process includes precipitation, erosion, weathering of crystal material whereas anthropogenic activities are urbanization, industrialization, mining and agricultural activities, etc. Mahanadi is the biggest river source of Odisha which joins the Bay of Bengal at Paradip. Paradip Township is an urbanized well-developed industrial township where various anthropogenic activities are contributing pollution to the water sources. In the present study, an attempt has been made to estimate and monitor the seasonal and spatial variation of physiochemical properties of the Mahanadi estuary, the East Coast coastal belt of India. The result revealed that there is a remarkable variation in the physiochemical parameters such as pH, salinity, TSS, DO, BOD, NO2N, NO3N, NH4N, TN, TP, SIO4 and Chl-a which are attributed to the runoff water getting discharged to the coastal water sources. It is being recommended to treat waste water and materials before discharging them to the marine water medium.

Understanding the genetic architecture of indi-vidual taxa of medical importance is the first step for designing disease preventive strategies. To understand the genetic details and evolu-tionary perspective of the model malaria vector, Anopheles gambiae and to use the information in other species of local importance, we scanned the published X-chromosome se-quence for detail characterization and obtain evolutionary status of different genes. The te-locentric X-chromosome contains 106 genes of known functions and 982 novel genes. Majori-ties of both the known and novel genes are with introns. The known genes are strictly biased towards less number of introns;about half of the total known genes have only one or two in-trons. The extreme sized (either long or short) genes were found to be most prevalent (58% short and 23% large). Statistically significant positive correlations between gene length and intron length as well as with intron number and intron length were obtained signifying the role of introns in contributing to the overall size of the known genes of X-chromosome in An. gam-biae. We compared each individual gene of An. gambiae with 33 other taxa having whole ge-nome sequence information. In general, the mosquito Aedes aegypti was found to be ge-netically closest and the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as most distant taxa to An. gambiae. Further, only about a quarter of the known genes of X-chromosome were unique to An. gambiae and majorities have orthologs in dif-ferent taxa. A phylogenetic tree was constructed based on a single gene found to be highly orthologous across all the 34 taxa. Evolutionary relationships among 13 different taxa were in-ferred which corroborate the previous and pre-sent findings on genetic relationships across various taxa.

BACKGROUND Recent data are inconclusive regarding the risk of arrhythmias among young cannabis ***,many young adults use both cannabis and tobacco,which could add a residual confounding effect on ***,we studied young men who have cannabis use disorder(CUD)excluding tobacco use disorder(TUD)to understand their independent association with atrial fibrillation(AF)and related *** To study the association of CUD with AF and related *** We used weighted discharge records from National Inpatient Sample(2019)to assess the baseline characteristics and mortality rates for AF-related hospitalizations in young(18-44 years)men in 1:1 propensity-matched CUD+vs CUD-cohorts without *** Propensity matched CUD+and CUD-cohorts consisted of 108495 young men in each *** analysis showed an increased incidence of AF in black population with *** addition,the CUD+cohort had lower rates of hyperlipidemia(6.4%vs 6.9%),hypertension(5.3%vs 6.3%),obesity(9.1%vs 10.9%),alcohol abuse(15.5%vs 16.9%),but had higher rates of anxiety(24.3%vs 18.4%)and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)(9.8%vs 9.4%)compared to *** adjustment with covariates including other substance abuse,a non-significant association was found between CUD+cohort and AF related hospitalizations(odd ratio:1.27,95%confidence interval:0.91-1.78,P=0.15).CONCLUSION Among hospitalized young men,the CUD+cohort had a higher prevalence of anxiety and COPD,and slightly higher proportion of black *** there were higher odds of AF hospitalizations in CUD+cohort without TUD,the association was statistically *** subgroup analysis showed higher rates of AF in black ***-scale prospective studies are required to evaluate long-term effects of CUD on AF risk and prognosis without TUD and concomitant substance abuse.
