Preliminary Investigation of Copper Joints Soldered with Sn58Bi

In recent years,intensive studies have been carried out to find an alternative for Tin(Sn)⁃Lead(Pb)solder alloys with increasing demand over lower temperature solder alloys in current electronic packaging *** temperature operational solder alloys seem to produce drawback to other components on the printed circuit board(PCB).Low melting temperature Sn58Bi substrate as a potential replacement was investigated in this paper based on the melting properties,wettability,and shear *** Sn58Bi was soldered at a temperature below 200℃on the Cu substrate,and the shear strength and contact angle were calculated.A peak temperature(melting temperature,T_(M))of 144.83℃was *** lap joint method was performed at a strain rate of 0.1 mm/min and an average shear strength of 23.4 MPa was found from three *** contact angle(wettability)was calculated to study the solder joint behaviour at reflow temperature of 170℃.The contact angle of the Sn58Bi was found to be 32.4°and considered to be desired value since the angle is less than 50°.The low temperature soldering provides a preliminary result to allow further application on the real PCB.

Production of Citric Acid from Corncobs with Its Biological Evaluation

Corncobs could serve as a substrate for citric acid production using solid state fermentation technique. The culture optimization concerning substrate concentration, culture duration, pH, temperature and substrate hydrolysis was carried out for maximum productivity of citric acid. Under the optimized conditions, 48.4 g of citric acid was produced from 1 kg dry corncobs. Biological evaluation was carried out for citric acid such as melanin synthesis inhibitory, anti-allergy, anti-bacterial, and hyaluronic acid production activities. The results showed that citric acid has potent melanin inhibitory activity, good inhibition for β-hexosaminidase release and potent stimulatory effect for the production of hyaluronic acid. These activities (melanin synthesis inhibitory, anti-allergy and hyaluronic acid productive activities) of citric acid have been reported for the first time.

Melanin Biosynthesis Inhibitory Activity of Compounds Isolated from Unused Parts of <i>Ammi visinaga</i>

Ten compounds have been isolated from the unused parts of Ammi visinaga. The isolated compounds were identified as tetracosanoic acid (1), β-sitosterol (2), visnadine (3), khellin (4), β-sitosterol glucoside (5), norkhellol (6), khellol (7), rhamnazin (8), cimifugin (9), and cis-khellactone-3’-β-glucopyranoside (10). The chemical structures of these compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic data (NMR, UV, MS and IR spectra). This is the first report on the identification of tetracosanoic acid (1), norkhellol (6) and cimifugin (9) in the Ammi genus. The melanin biosynthesis inhibitory activities of khellin (4), khellol (7), visnadine (3), cimifugin (9), β-sitosterol (2) and β-sitosterol glucoside (5) were evaluated. Khellin (4) exhibited a potent melanin inhibitory effect compared to arbutin with less toxicity.

Characterization of a Watermelon mosaic virus Isolate Inducing a Severe Disease in Watermelon in Saudi Arabia

In one of the field visits to cucurbits-growing areas in vicinity of Riyadh city during 2013-2015,severe virus disease-like symptoms were observed on watermelon in Al-Ammariyah *** inoculation of the different plant species used in the host range study,from the collected symptomatic watermelon samples,produced mosaic symptoms on Citrullus lanatus,Cucumis sativus,Cucurbita pepo,***,*** *** and Nicotiana benthamiana,but chlorotic local lesions on Chenopodium *** symptoms were observed on the rest of the other inoculated plant *** virus was transmitted by Aphis gossypii and *** in a non-persistent *** electron microscopic examination of watermelon samples using the leaf dip method revealed only microscopic filamentous shaped virus particles measuring 750 nm in length and 12 nm in diameter in *** revealed positive results only to Watermelon mosaic virus(WMV)and negative to Zucchini yellow mosaic virus(ZYMV),Papaya ringspot virus(PRSV),Cucumber mosaic virus(CMV)and Squash mosaic virus(SqMV).Specific bands of approximately 825 bp were formed on agarose gel following electrophoresis of the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)products of each of the naturally infected ***,and artificially infected ***,***,***,and *** homology tree that was constructed from multiple sequence alignments of the detected Saudi Arabian isolate of WMV(WMV-SA)with 18 other isolates of WMV from nine different countries indicated close relationships between *** isolates from Spain and two other isolates from Iran were more closely related to the WMV-SA whereas the isolate from Poland was the least.
