The survey＇s results showed a significant percentage of women and especially men having an above normal cholesterol. In order to help reduce excessive rate of blood cholesterol, we used a local strain of Spirulina （Tamanrasset, in south of Algeria） associated with probiotic bacteria （Bf adolescentis）. Experiments in vitro showed a significant degradation of total cholesterol by the combination of Spirulina and Bf adolescentis （74.5%） after 72 hours incubation at 37 ~C. A cholesterol is added to the standard diet mice in order to increase the total cholesterol for three lots. However, the rates of total cholesterol in mice receiving lower fermented milk with Bf adolescentis enriched by dry Spirulina. This shows that the decrease of cholesterol rate is closely related to the presence of Bf adolescentis and Spirulina. In vitro and in vivo results show, however, that it is possible to obtain a natural product （Spirulina） and a pseudo-strain lactic （Bf adolescentis） and to participate in the prevention of cardiovascular disease risk factor whose hand is cholesterol.

Genista numidica Spach ssp numidica （Spach） Batt. is a northeast Algerian endemic plant; the aim of this work is about the phytochemical screening, the microscopic analysis and the antimicrobial activity of the aerial parts of this species （stems, flowers, seeds and pods）; there is a wealth in polyphenolic compounds： flavonoids （method of Charaux, Paris, 1964） and saponins （method of Braune et al, 1969）, tannins, terpenes, sterols and fatty acids. The microscopic analysis doesn＇t allow a differential identification of the species. The results of aromatogram by the incorporation method of Muller-Hinton on solid medium, showed a significant antimicrobial activity （method Duraffourd,1987） of the extracts, infusion, and the active substances towards bacterial strains, essentially those recognized as antibiotic resistant （Staphylococcus, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Enterobacter, Citrobacter）; the results obtained indicate that the most efficient antibacterial activity was obtained with the pod infusion, the seed extract and the flavonoids. The raw extract has an important antifungal activity on Candida albicans. This could open opportunities for using this species in the treatment of urinary, respiratory, intestinals and cutaneous infections, and as a disinfecting additive on nosocomial area.

Many nitrophenols tend to persist in the environment and they may become public health hazards. Among nitrophenols, p-nitrophenol （PNP） is a priority pollutant that has been widely used as pesticide. PNP is a toxic compound that enters the environment during manufacturing and processing of a variety of industrial products. This situation generalized its presence in multiple natural ecosystems： rivers, wastewaters, subterranean waters, soil treated by pesticides and urban atmosphere. This study aims to test the ability of wastewater microflora to degrade high concentration of PNP （500 rag/L） aerobically. An identification of the dominant microorganisms involved in the biodegradation is also carried. The cultures are performed using a minimum medium, where PNP is the sole source of carbon, energy and nitrogen. The kinetic of biodegradation is followed for more than 30 days of incubation at 30 ~C on a shaker （150 tours/min）. The obtained results show that more than 90% of PNP initial concentration is decomposed at the end of incubation. The isolation of microorganisms degrading PNP gave two bacterial colonies with different macroscopic aspects. Sequence analysis of 16S ribosomal DNA indicated that the PNP degrading isolates were closely related to members of the species： Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Bacillus cereus.

Milk fat contains a variety of nutritive and health-promoting compounds that guard against some disease. In the current system of global competition, when the quality of milk and milk products is not an option but rather a requirement, therefore, determining the purity of milk fat is critical. This study aims to validate analytical methods for detecting palm oil in a mixture of milk fat and palm oil. Methods of this study was involved detection of non-milk fat in fat blinders by determining the saponification value, iodine number, refractive index, butyro refractometer reading, Gas chromatography, Reverse Phase High-performance liquid chromatography, and Fourier transforms Infrared. The results of this study revealed that the saponification value, Iodine number, refractive index, and Butyro Reading could be used to detect the addition of palm oil by a level of 10% - 20% or more to the milk. The level of some fatty acids in the milk as determined by GC, such as myristic acid (C14:0), palmitic acid (C16:0), and stearic acid (C18:0), is correlated well with the level of adding palm oil to milk fat. The determination of cholesterol and β-sito-sterol content by RP-HPLC could be used for the detection of the addition of palm oil to milk fat. The spectrum behavior produced by FTIR spectroscopy in this adulterated sample is almost the same, so this technique could not be used to detect the palm oil in milk fat.

Sintering and Mechanical Properties of Magnesium and Fluorine Co-Substituted Hydroxyapatites

Biological apatites contain several elements as traces. In this work, Magnesium and fluorine co-substituted hydroxyapatites with the general formula Ca9Mg(PO4)6(OH)2-yFy, where y = 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 were synthesized by the hydrothermal method. After calcination at 500℃, the samples were pressureless sintered between 950℃ and 1250℃. The substitution of F- for OH- had a strong influence on the densification behavior and mechanical properties of the materials. Below 1200℃, the density steeply decreased for y = 0.5 sample. XRD analysis revealed that compared to hydroxylfluorapatite containing no magnesium, the substituted hydroxyfluorapatites decomposed, and the nature of the decomposition products is tightly dependent on the fluorine content. The hardness, elastic modulus and fracture toughness of these materials were investigated by Vickers’s hardness testing. The highest values were 622 ± 4 GPa, 181 ± 1 GPa and 1.85 ± 0.06 MPa.m1/2, respectively.

In computer vision,emotion recognition using facial expression images is considered an important research *** learning advances in recent years have aided in attaining improved results in this *** to recent studies,multiple facial expressions may be included in facial photographs representing a particular type of *** is feasible and useful to convert face photos into collections of visual words and carry out global expression *** main contribution of this paper is to propose a facial expression recognitionmodel(FERM)depending on an optimized Support Vector Machine(SVM).To test the performance of the proposed model(FERM),AffectNet is *** uses 1250 emotion-related keywords in six different languages to search three major search engines and get over 1,000,000 facial photos *** FERM is composed of three main phases:(i)the Data preparation phase,(ii)Applying grid search for optimization,and(iii)the categorization *** discriminant analysis(LDA)is used to categorize the data into eight labels(neutral,happy,sad,surprised,fear,disgust,angry,and contempt).Due to using LDA,the performance of categorization via SVM has been obviously *** search is used to find the optimal values for hyperparameters of SVM(C and gamma).The proposed optimized SVM algorithm has achieved an accuracy of 99%and a 98%F1 score.

Assessment of Persistence Symptoms in Recovered COVID-19 Patients by Yorkshire Rehabilitation Scale (C19‐YRS): A Cross-Sectional Study from Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia

Background: Earlier back at the beginning of COVID-19, the acute phase of infection was variable from one patient to another causing different symptoms. However, many patients are still suffering from Post COVID-19 Syndrome. Hence, this study aimed to assess the persistence of symptoms in patients who recovered from COVID-19 in the Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study of 413 confirmed PCR test-positive covid-19 patients enrolled in this study from the Ministry of Health Electronic Surveillance System (HESN). The Yorkshire Rehabilitation Scale (C19-YRS) checklist was used to record patients’ symptoms, functioning, and disability. Data were analyzed by the SPSS program. Functional and patient-reported outcome measures were correlated with certain items from C19-YRS, the severity of symptoms. Its distribution-based methods were used for responsiveness over time. The scaling and targeting assumptions were satisfied, and internal consistency was high (Cronbach’s α = 0.843). Results: After 4 weeks of infection, 50% of patients reported persistent symptoms such as laryngeal complications, 43.8% Swallowing changes, 31.3% fatigue, 18.8% pain, 18.8% loss of appetite, 12.5% breathlessness, and 6.3% depression, Moreover, 18.8% of patients experienced reduced mobility. At the beginning of the COVID-19 infection, fever was the most common complaint 332 (80.4%), followed by 267 (64.6%) fatigue, and loss of smell 230 (55.7%). The severity of the breathlessness symptoms was exaggerated during the patients’ walking or climbing stairs. Patients who were admitted to an intensive care unit (n = 5) were significantly elderly (P Conclusion: The study examined the severity of post covid syndrome by patients’ responsiveness to the scale items in C19-YRS. The majority of COVID-19 symptoms were still present but significantly reduced after 4 weeks of infection. Background: Dietary fatty acids have important homeostatic functions in regulating the immune response and may exert beneficial effects on immune alterations during obesity. Objective: To assess the in vitro effects of oil fatty acids, different oils (olive, linseed, Nigel, sunflower) were tested on T-lymphocyte proliferation, Th1- and Th2-type cytokine production, and intracellular oxidant/antioxidant status in obese patients. Methods: Peripheral blood lymphocytes were isolated using Histopaque and were in vitro cultured and stimulated by Con A in the presence or absence of the oils. Cell proliferation, interleukin-2, interleukin-4 and interferon-γ (INFγ) secretions and intracellular oxidative status (glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), carbonyl protein levels, catalase activity and micronuclei frequency) were investigated. Results: Abnormalities in lymphocyte function and intracellular oxidative stress were observed in obesity. Linseed oil induced a reduction in T-lymphocyte proliferation and IL-2 production while Nigel oil increased them in both obese and control groups. In addition, Nigel oil enhanced IFNγ and IL-4 secretion. Olive and sunflower oils had no effect on lymphocyte proliferation and cytokine secretion in both groups. Linseed and Nigel oils induced an increase in T cell GSH concentrations and catalase activity with a concomitant decrease in MDA, carbonyl protein contents and micronuclei frequency especially in obese patients. Conclusion: Linseed and Nigel oils had beneficial effects on lymphocyte proliferation, cytokines secretions and redox status, while olive and sunflower oils had no effects on immune cell function in obesity.

Authentication of the digital image has much attention for the digital *** image authentication can be verified with image watermarking and image encryption *** schemes are widely used to protect images against forgery attacks,and they are useful for protecting copyright and rightful *** on the desirable applications,several image encryption and watermarking schemes have been proposed to moderate this *** framework presents a new scheme that combines a Walsh Hadamard Transform(WHT)-based image watermarking scheme with an image encryption scheme based on Double Random Phase Encoding(DRPE).First,on the sender side,the secret medical image is encrypted using *** the encrypted image is watermarking based on *** combination between watermarking and encryption increases the security and robustness of transmitting an *** performance evaluation of the proposed scheme is obtained by testing Structural Similarity Index(SSIM),Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Normalized cross-correlation(NC),and Feature Similarity Index(FSIM).
