It has recently been demonstrated experimentally that a turbulent plasma created by the collision of two inhomogeneous,asymmetric,weakly magnetized,laser-produced plasma jets can generate strong stochastic magnetic fields via the small-scale turbulent dynamo mechanism,provided the magnetic Reynolds number of the plasma is sufficiently *** this paper,we compare such a plasma with one arising from two pre-magnetized plasma jets whose creation is identical save for the addition of a strong external magnetic field imposed by a pulsed magnetic field *** investigate the differences between the two turbulent systems using a Thomson-scattering diagnostic,x-ray selfemission imaging,and proton *** Thomson-scattering spectra and x-ray images suggest that the external magnetic field has a limited effect on the plasma dynamics in the *** the external magnetic field induces collimation of the flows in the colliding plasma jets and although the initial strengths of the magnetic fields arising from the interaction between the colliding jets are significantly larger as a result of the external field,the energies and morphologies of the stochastic magnetic fields post-amplification are *** conclude that,for turbulent laser-plasmas with supercritical magnetic Reynolds numbers,the dynamo-amplified magnetic fields are determined by the turbulent dynamics rather than the seed fields or modest changes in the initial flow dynamics of the plasma,a finding consistent with theoretical expectations and simulations of turbulent dynamos.

In this work,we have reported the synthesis and spectroscopic characterization of captopril(Cap)coordination compounds:Cu(Cap)·2H 2O,Cr(Cap)·H 2O,Zn(Cap)·3H 2O and mg(Cap)***,it is worthily mentioned that the fTIR spectroscopic technique was employed to recognized the nature of coordination between captopril ligand and copper,chromium,zinc and magnesium(Ⅱ)metal *** view of the infrared spectroscopic tool,the copper(Ⅱ)metal ion coordinated toward captopril drug ligand through sulfur atom of sH group dependent on the absent of stretching vibration band of—*** on this result,the stretching motion ofνa(COO)shifts clearly indicates that Cu 2+,Cr 2+,Zn 2+and mg 2+the carboxylic group is employed as coordinative site for all compounds as a metal-ligand coordinative *** a general behavior,it is verified that the coordination compound thermal stability(considering the release of captopril molecules,not the release of water molecules)is affected by the metal cation radius:minor radius is associated with higher thermal stability,probably due to a higher metal-captopril bond dissociation enthalpy.

multi-model Approach for Assessing the Influence of Calibration Criteria on the Water Balance in Ouémé Basin

Hydrological models are very useful tools for evaluating water resources, and the hydroclimatic hazards associated with the water cycle. However, their calibration and validation require the use of performance criteria which choice is not straightforward. This paper aims to evaluate the influence of the performance criteria on water balance components and water extremes using two global rainfall-runoff models (HBV and GR4J) over the Ouémé watershed at the Bonou and savè outlets. Three (3) Efficacy criteria (Nash, coefficient of determination, and KGE) were considered for calibration and validation. The results show that the Nash criterion provides a good assessment of the simulation of the different parts of the hydrograph. KGE is better for simulating peak flows and water balance elements than other efficiency criteria. This study could serve as a basis for the choice of performance criteria in hydrological modelling.

The combination of urbanization and global warming leads to urban overheating and compounds the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events due to climate ***,the risk of urban overheating can be mitigated by urban green-blue-grey infrastructure(GBGI),such as parks,wetlands,and engineered greening,which have the potential to effectively reduce summer air *** many reviews,the evidence bases on quantified GBGI cooling benefits remains partial and the practical recommendations for implementation are *** systematic literature review synthesizes the evidence base for heat mitigation and related co-benefits,identifies knowledge gaps,and proposes recommendations for their implementation to maximize their *** screening 27,486 papers,202 were reviewed,based on 51 GBGI types categorized under 10 main *** GBGI(green walls,parks,street trees)have been well researched for their urban cooling ***,several other GBGI have received negligible(zoological garden,golf course,estuary)or minimal(private garden,allotment)*** most efficient air cooling was observed in botanical gardens(5.0±3.5℃),wetlands(4.9±3.2℃),green walls(4.1±4.2℃),street trees(3.8±3.1℃),and vegetated balconies(3.8±2.7℃).Under changing climate conditions(2070–2100)with consideration of RCP8.5,there is a shift in climate subtypes,either within the same climate zone(e.g.,dfa to dfb and Cfb to Cfa)or across other climate zones(e.g.,dfb[continental warm-summer humid]to Bsk[dry,cold semi-arid]and Cwa[temperate]to Am[tropical]).These shifts may result in lower efficiency for the current GBGI in the *** the importance of multiple services,it is crucial to balance their functionality,cooling performance,and other related co-benefits when planning for the future *** global GBGI heat mitigation inventory can assist policymakers and urban planners in prioritizing effective interventions to reduce the risk of urban overheating,fi

Numerical simulation of Vortex Engine flow field:One Phase and Two Phases

Aiming at improving efficiency in combustion systems, the study on droplet behavior and its trajectory is of crucialimportance. Vortex engine is a kind of internal combustion engine which uses swirl flow to achieve highercombustion efficiency. One of the important advantages of designing vortex engine is to reduce the temperatureof walls by confining the combustion products in the inner vortex. The scopes of this investigation are to studyvortex engine flow field as well as effective parameters on fuel droplet behavior such as droplet diameter, dropletinitial velocity and inlet velocity of the flow field. The flow field is simulated using Reynolds stress Transportmodel (Rsm). The Eulerian-Lagrangian method and the one-way coupling approach are employed to simulatetwo phase flow and dispersed phase in the chamber, respectively. A new method, based on computing pressureforce exerted on the droplet surface, is introduced to determine the distinction between using one-way andtwo-way coupling approaches. The results showed that the droplets with smaller diameter are more likely to followthe flow stream lines than bigger droplets, thus evaporate completely in the chamber. moreover, droplets withgreater initial velocity have higher evaporation rate, yielding the existence of evaporation and combustion in theinner vortex. Additionally, the higher inlet velocity of continuous phase results in higher centrifugal force, leadsdroplets in question to deviate towards the wall faster.

Prognostic factors for diabetic foot at CNHU-HKm

Introduction: Predictions on the prevalence of diabetes mellitus, according to the International diabetes federation, indicated 9.3% in 2019 and nearly 10.9% of the general population in 2045. In Benin, the increase in this prevalence, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is constantly increasing. diabetic foot is one of its most common complications. The aim of this work was to study the prognostic factors of diabetic foot in the department of Endocrinology, metabolism and Nutrition of the CNHU-HKm of Cotonou. Patients and method: This is a descriptive and analytical retrospective study of the prognostic factors of diabetic foot over a period of 3 years from January 2019 to december 2021 in patients who have been hospitalized or followed on an outpatient basis for diabetic foot in the Endocrinology, metabolism and Nutrition department of the CNHU-HKm of Cotonou. Results: A total of 112 patients were included in this study. The average age of the patients was 59.70 ± 2.10 years. A male predominance was noted with a sex ratio (m/f) of 1.7. mixed gangrene and phlegmons were the most common lesions. According to the classification of diabetic feet according to the University of Texas, 59.1% of patients had a 100% risk of amputation. Ten patients died from sepsis (8.9%). The average blood glucose on admission was 2.74 ± 0.23 g/l, reflecting the glycemic imbalance in these patients. There is a statistically significant association between the duration of progression of diabetes, the type of lesion and amputation. Patients whose diabetes has lasted more than 30 years and patients who are not monitored have a greater risk of death. Conclusion: diabetic patients most often consulted at a late stage, compromising conservative treatment. The duration of diabetes and the type of lesion on admission were the main factors leading to amputation, thus compromising the functional prognosis. As for death, it was mainly linked to irregular monitoring of diabetes and the
