Background: Niger is one of the countries that have the highest fertility rate in the world, with 7, 6 children per woman. Zinder is the most populated region of Niger with 5 million inhabitants that is 1/5 of Niger population. The demographic impact that has affected Niger the last 10 years: unemployment poverty and drug use, spawned violence of all kinds in Zinder region (physical and sexual violence). sexual abuse is a major risk for poor psychiatric and physical outcomes. As sexual violence has serious consequences on the life and future of women and the community and it concerns our field of intervention, we initiated this study whose objective was to determine the socio-epidemiological and lesional aspects, the consequences and appropriate solutions of sexual violence in the Zinder. Methodology: This.was a retrospective collection study of all cases of alleged sexual violence received over a 12-year period from 1 January 2009 to 30 June 2021 in Zinder’s referral maternity wards. Results: During the study period, 441 cases of sexual violence were collected;an annual average of 36 cases (441/12). The frequency is 1.29% on the 34,186 consultations. The mean age was 12.31 years.with age extremes of 3 to 43 years. students accounted for 25.39%. street vendors.were found in 224 cases or 50.79%. The predominant reason for admission is rape in 64.63%. The defloration was 52.15%. Pregnancy was found in 118 cases or 26.75%. HIV serology was positive in 1 victim. school dropout was 26.75%. Conclusion: The victims of sexual violence were minors, mostly street vendors and school children. The lack of means of repression at the time allowed the expansion of this violence. The consequences of sexual violence were severe. Advocacy has improved the phenomen on of sexual violence in Zinder.

Cabbage is today an economically important crop grown in more than 90 countries around the world. Production is constantly threatened by pests including the cabbage webworm, Hellula undalis (F.) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) which just one or two larvae can cause severe damage by infesting the growing points or shoots of young plants. Hellula undalis is difficult to control by the use of chemical insecticides. The establishment of effective biological control is needed. The parasitoid species Pristomerus pallidus (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Cremastinae) was recorded for the first time in senegal on larvae of Hellula undalis from cabbage fields infested with H. undalis. Laboratory observed parasitism was 7.4%. This is the first record of Pristomerus pallidus parasitizing Hellula undalis from senegal. Furthermore, studies on the potential regulation of Hellula undalis under controlled and field conditions need to be evaluated for utilizing this parasitoid as a biocontrol agent against the cabbage webworm. .

Disparities in Dental Caries among students in senegalese Koranic school: Epidemiological study in Daara of Koki

Background: school is a space where children are exposed to the social and psychosocial environment that can affect their health. In senegal, the prevalence of dental caries is high in classic schools according to fragmented data, and unknown in the koranic school (Daaras). Objective: The objective is to describe the disparity of dental caries in the schoolchildren (talibes) of Daara of Koki. Method: A cross-sectional study was carried out on 400 talibes aged 7 to 12 years. Dental caries and socio-demographic data were, respectively, collected by clinical examination and questionnaire. Results: The sex ratio was 9, the mean age of 9.9 ± 1.5 years and the mean length of stay in the Daara was 2.3 ± 1.1 years. The prevalence of dental caries.was 47.4%. The average mixed DFMT index was 1.1 ± 1.5. The prevalence was 51.2% among boys, 60% among eight-year-old children and 37.4% among twelve-year-old children. By length of stay, the prevalence was 52.9% at the start and 22.2% at the end with a significant downward trend (p Conclusion: The study showed an unequally distributed of caries among talibes of Koki’s Daara. she suggests that oral health promotion policies are needed in Koranic schools and must rely on koranic teachers.

strong>Background:strong> This study aimed to determine the level of continuing medical education (CME) of medical imaging technicians in French-speaking west Africa. strong>Materials and methods:strong> This opinion survey was administered to radiology technicians in French-speaking west Africa from 1sup>stsup> June to 31sup>stsup> October 2020, i.e. over a period of 5 months concerning their level of CME and their need for CME. strong>Results:strong> Out of 100 technicians, 69% were men. The mean age was 40 years, with extremes ranging from age 23 to age 57. The majority of technicians (64%) worked in the public sector and 78% had work experience of less than 11 years. Most technicians.were holders of a Bachelor’s degree (73%). The types of CMEs they knew were congresses, seminars, and modular training in 46% of the cases. The most available CMEs.were seminars (63%). All technicians agreed on the need for CME and 96% said it had an impact on the delivery of radiology services. Technicians.who had received CME at least once represented 61%. For 90% of technicians, the specific CME sought was management in radiology (33.33%) and radiation protection (25.81%). strong>Conclusion:strong> The need for CME is increasingly indisputable to radiology technicians in French-speaking west Africa;however, it remains a luxury for them, due to its scarcity and its high cost.

Contribution of <sup>99m</sup>Tc-DPD scintigraphy in the Diagnosis of Cardiac Amyloidosis in Black Africans

Cardiac amyloidosis presents a picture of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. It is largely underdiagnosed, especially in black Africans, and therefore falls under the category of heart disease classified as idiopathic. Light chain amyloidosis (AL) is mainly found in Caucasian subjects and the mutant variant of transthyretin (TTRm) in negroid subjects. Numerous studies have shown that ATTRm was found predominantly in black American and black British patients. In African countries the entity of idiopathic heart failure is quite important because of lack of diagnosis, ETT, MRI and immuno-histochemistry are expensive or not available. we can probably assume that the proportion of cardiac amyloidosis is quite important in black Africans. The question is if sup>99msup>Tc-DPD really easy to perform, can probably help to investigate in the nuclear medicine department in Africa. No large-scale study has been able to demonstrate the prevalence or not of cardiac amyloidosis in black-African subjects and by extension reduce this nosological entity of idiopathic heart disease. The sup>99msup>Tc-DPD scintigraphy using Perrugini’s visual sore allows localization and classification of amyloid damage. The mechanism of binding of sup>99msup>Tc-DPD to amyloid fibril deposits is not well known, its binding to TTR-type (mutated or wild type) amyloidosis is greater than the AL variant. In the diagnostic algorithm, endomyocardial biopsy is the gold standard but remains invasive, ETT with the strain allows a presumptive diagnosis and remains an operative examination dependent and is not reproducible. Cardiac MRI allows some localization of amyloid deposits but still remains less sensitive than scintigraphy. In addition, performing the whole-body MRI is very restrictive (time, antenna change and cost). This research studies the capability of the weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with the Chemistry/Aerosol module(wRF-Chem)with and without parametrization to reproduce a dust storm,which was held on 27th June 2018 over sahara *** authors use satellite observations and ground-based measurements to evaluate the wRF-Chem *** sensitivities of wRF-Chem Model are tested on the replication of haboob features.with a tuned GOCART aerosol *** of simulations.with satellite and ground-based observations show that wRF-Chem is able to reproduce the Aerosol Optical Depth(AOD)distribution and associated changes of haboob in the meteorological fields.with temperature drops of about 9℃and wind gust 20 m·s–*** wRF-Chem Convec-tion-permitting model(CPM)shows strong 10-meter winds induced a large dust emission along the leading edge of a convective cold pool(LECCP).The CPM indicates heavy dust transported over the west African coast(16°w-10°w;6°N-21°N)which has a potential for long-distance travel on 27th June between 1100 UTC and 1500 *** daily precipitation is improved in the CPM with a spatial distribution similar to the GPM-IMERG precipitation and maxi-mum rainfall located at the right *** well as raising a large amount of dust,the haboob caused considerable dam-age along its route.

study of the Activation Process of a 2 m3 Pilot Biodigester on a Microfarm site

A domestic balloon-type digester with 1200 liters of substrate and a 700-litre gas reserve was installed at the Université Gaston Berger pilot farm, which has 4 cows. After an initial load of 1000 L of water, 90 L of bovine rumen and 145 L of cow dung, the functional parameters of the reaction medium, i.e., temperature, pH, salinity and conductimetry, were regularly monitored at a rate of 3 tests per day until the thirtieth day, corresponding to the flame test and the start of analysis and daily loading of the biodigester. The analysis of the biogas obtained after the flame test showed us the considerable contribution of bovine hindquarters to the CH4 fraction, which reached 72.2% from the start of the production phase. As anaerobic digestion is both a complex and multiparametric process, microbiological analysis revealed the presence of several strains of bacteria in the substrate used. Among the most abundant were Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp, non-fermentative Gram-negative bacilli and Enterococcus sp. However, the bacterial strain that interests us most in anaerobic digestion is the non-fermentative Gram-negative family. we see the identification and temporal monitoring of these families of bacteria as a major step forward in the control of anaerobic fermentation processes in the sahelian context and in senegal in particular.

This study aims to examine the atmospheric conditions characterising fog phenomena on the senegalese coast focusing on two specific instances that occurred on April 3 and April 30,*** events.were detected by the LIDAR Ceilometer installed at LPAOsF/EsP/UCAD and confirmed on the METARs of the meteorological stations at Dakar and Diass *** LIDAR’s backscatter signal showed that the fog of April 3 started around midnight with a vertical extension at 100 m altitude and dissipated around 10 *** April 30 event characterized by a good vertical extension from the surface up to 300 m above sea level,was triggered just after 2 *** lasted around 3 *** results showed that a decrease in temperature,accompanied by an increase in humidity and light wind,is favorable for the triggering and persistence of *** Level Pressure(sLP)anomaly fields show two distinct *** April 3 event was characterized by a zonal dipole of sLP anomalies between the sahara and the northern senegalese coast,while the April 30 event was characterized by a meridional dipole between the sahara and the Gulf of Guinea area as far as the equatorial Atlantic.A weakening of the pressure around the study area was observed in both cases,allowing moisture advection to favor the onset of *** hovmoller diagrams of relative humidity and wind show that a good vertical extension of humidity associated with a westerly wind in the lower layers plays an important role in the formation and persistence of *** presence of dry air associated with a weak easterly wind in the middle layers could explain the low vertical extension of the fog on April 3.A strong wind in the lower layers.would be responsible for the premature dissipation of the April 30 fog.

Associated Factors.with the Child’s Fully Immunized in the Tambacounda Health District (senegal)

To improve vaccination coverage among children under one year of age in the Tambacounda health district, a household survey was carried out among mothers or babysitters. The objective was to study the factors related to child’s fully immunized in children aged 12 to 23 months. The cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical survey was carried out during the month of April 2019. A multistage cluster survey selected a sample of 657 mothers and babysitters. The data was collected using a questionnaire made from the world Health Organization reference guide. Data entry and analysis.were done with Epi Info software and R. Among the women surveyed, biological mothers.were the most representative (96.9%). In the series, 74.1% had a good knowledge of the age for initiating vaccination, 78.2% knew the number of contacts. The vaccination record of the children was available in 92.2%, and 71.0% of them had presented an adverse event. The proportion of children fully immunized was 41.0%. Complete childhood vaccination was positively associated with income-generating activity in women (0R = 2.4) and the short distance (ween home and place of vaccination (OR = 1.5). It was also improved by having a qualified health worker as a vaccinator (OR = 1.4) satisfaction in relation to visit (OR = 2.0), the advice given by the vaccinator (OR = 1.7) and the fixing of the date of the next vaccination appointment (OR = 2.5). The implementation of a good strategy for improving the quality of immunization services is an important element for strengthening immunization coverage in the Tambacounda health district.

Assessment of Poultry Feed Contamination Level by Aflatoxin B1: Quantification by Two Chromatographic Analysis Methods

Aflatoxin B1 is a mycotoxin that can contaminate a wide feedstuffs variety. Ingestion of contaminated feed by poultry can lead to impaired health and zootechnical performances but also a human diet safety problem related to residues presence in animal origin products. Aflatoxin B1 contamination of poultry feed samples marketed in Dakar city and in peri-urban areas (Gorom, sangalkam) was studied. A total of 15 samples.were collected from Dakar city markets as.well as from poultry farms in Gorom and sangalkam areas. Aflatoxin B1 quantification was performed by high performance liquid chromatography and thin-layer chromatography. HPLC results showed that all samples.were contaminated with levels ranging from 0.15 to 22 ppb, 0.099 to 2.05 ppb and 0.099 to 4.95 ppb respectively for Gorom, sangalkam and Dakar. Only the finishing feed from Gorom had an aflatoxin B1 level above the maximum limit set by regulations. TLC is a suitable method for aflatoxins detection. However, it was associated with overestimation for aflatoxin B1 quantification. Results suggest that poultry feed represents a real source of human diet contamination. In addition, HPLC remains the most reliable quantification technique for quality control.
