The objective of this work is to model initially,the different components of a single-bed adsorption system with intermittent cold production operating with hot water coming from either biogas(from methanation of animal organic waste),or a flat ***,in a second step,to the Simulink resolution to determine the evolutions of the desorption temperatures for the two working couples(Thmax of 180°C and 220°C),of the adsorbed fraction(6 kg/s for the zeolite water and 4 kg/s for silica gel-water),COP(coefficient of refrigeration performance)of the order of 0.34 for silica gel-water and 0.4 for *** results were compared to those found in the literature for *** should be noted that the heat transfer fluid used is water,which has a cold production range between 0℃and 10℃(cooling applications)and that modeling uses the Dormand-Price OD45 method.

Introduction: Open surgery is gradually being supplanted by minimally invasive surgical techniques worldwide. Our study aimed to describe the place of minimally invasive surgery at the Hôpital Général Idrissa Pouye (HOGIP) in Dakar. Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study over a 20-years period from 1st June 2000 to 31st December 2021 in the urology department of HOGIP in Dakar. The list of all surgical procedures performed was computed. We evaluated the distribution of minimally invasive procedures (endoscopy, PCNL, laparoscopy) overall and over the years. We made calculations of proportions and statistical significance was considered for alpha = 0.05. Results: In 20 years, 14,855 surgical procedures were performed, of which 5344 (36%) were minimally invasive surgeries. The average age of men was 53.19 years (standard deviation: 21.77) vs 47.32 years (standard deviation: 18.43) for women. Minimally invasive procedures in the lower urinary tract accounted for 71.93% and involved 1033 cystoscopies (26.87%), 1020 Trans Urethral Resection of Prostate (TURP) (26.53%), 931 Direct Vision Internal Urethrotomy (DVIU) (24.21%, and 612 Trans Urethral Resection of the Bladder (TURB) (15.92%). In the upper urinary tract, 1461 (28.07%) minimally invasive procedures were performed, including PCNL in 193 cases (3.61%), laser endopyelotomy in 104 cases (1.95%), ureteroscopy in 486 cases (1.7%) and laparoscopy in 39 cases (0.46%). The proportion of minimally invasive surgery has gradually increased. Among the 5344 minimally invasive procedures, 333 (5.23%) were performed in 2000-2004 and 2332 (43.63%) in 2015-2019. Conclusion: Minimally invasive surgery represents an important part of the activity of the HOGIP urology department. Its development has improved over the years offering its advantages to the patients.

Renewable Energy Powered Membrane Process for Removal of Excess Fluoride Ions and Safe Drinking Water Supply in Rural Areas in Senegal

The analysis results made on drinking water from the rural areas of Kaolack,Diourbel and Fatick central region of Senegal showed the excess of fluoride and chloride *** on the area,the fluoride concentration in the water can reach 3.5 mg/*** values obtained are completely above of WHO(World Health Organization)*** objective of this study is to assess the performances of membrane filtration units powered by renewable energies for fluoride and salinity excess removal in remote village in *** membrane filtration units have been installed in rural areas of regions such as Kaolack,Fatick and *** membrane filtration units are equipped by the LPRO(Low Pressure Reverse Osmosis)membranes with 9 m^(2)of surface.A rejection rate of fluoride and chloride ions obtained is 99.33%and 95.25%*** conversion rates are ranged from 45%to 65%.These results clearly show that membrane processes can be used in Africa,especially in isolated rural areas,with the combination of renewable ***,more than twenty membrane filtration units are installed in Senegal and provide drinking water of very good quality for populations living in rural *** prospect is to expand it on a larger scale,which is already underway,with the construction of a desalination plant in Dakar.

Electrochromic materials are of great interest for their potential in eyewear protection and data storage devices, as they change colors in response to electrochemical switching. While many of the systems currently used are based on inorganic materials, organic materials such as triazenes have emerged as viable alternatives due to their unique properties, including optical properties. Triazenes are a class of organic compounds with three consecutive nitrogen atoms in an acyclic arrangement, and they have been used for a variety of applications in medicinal and synthetic chemistry. However, the effects of solvents on the UV-visible absorption spectrum of triazenes have not been fully investigated. The neutral molecules of 3,3-diisopropyl-1-phenyltriazene and 1-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-cyclopentyltriazene in acetonitrile, the UV-visible spectra corresponded respectively to HOMO → LUMO transitions with a large maximum absorption at 299.74 nm (4.1364 eV) and 299.57 nm (4.1387 eV) and the most intense oscillator strength (f = 0.6988) and (f = 0.7372). These results suggest that the electronic transitions of the compounds are highly influenced by the nature of the substituents on the triazene unit, as well as the solvent used in the experiment. The redox couple 0.92 and -0.44 V/Ag/AgCl is attributed to the phenyl group. Compound III showed an oxidation and reduction peak respectively -0.27 and -0.8 V/Ag/AgCl attributed to the phenyl molecule. The study concluded that all three compounds were electroactive and exhibited reversible characteristics with oxidizing/reducing couples. This study aims to contribute to research on the optical properties of triazenes compounds and the application of quantum chemical calculation methods for understanding their molecular structures. By investigating the solute-solvent interactions occurring in the solvation shell of the solutes, we aim to gain insights into the effects of solvents on the UV-visible absorption spectrum of triazenes. Introduction: Fatigue fractures are secondary to excessive, unusual, repeated mechanical stress, occurring on healthy bone. Bone scintigraphy (BS) with 99mTc-HMDP is an excellent means of diagnosis. We report a case of stress fracture of the calcaneus with scintigraphic diagnosis, in a marathon runner. Patient and Methods: He is a 40-year-old athlete in overtraining with right calcaneal pain on running, intense at first, moderate in the middle and then persistent after exercise. The interrogation found no trauma to the right foot and the x-ray of the foot was without abnormality. The so 3 phases were performed following an injection of 564 MBq of 99mTc-HMDP, with a SPECT gamma camera. Results: Bone scintigraphy found in the early phase, hyper-perfusion and hyper-fixation of the right calcaneal region compared to its left counterpart and in the bone phase persistence of focal hyperfixation opposite the right calcaneus. This scintigraphic aspect of the right calcaneus in an overtrained marathon runner, in a painful context and in front of a normal X-ray, made us evoke a fracture of fatigue. A complementary CT scan performed two days after the BS was without abnormality. Conclusion: Fatigue fractures are micro-fractures generally not noticed on radiography and CT. BS due to its high sensitivity is an excellent or the best tool for the early diagnosis of stress fractures.
