The Notch signaling pathway.play. a central role in the development of various ***,dy.regulation of microRNAs(miRNAs),which are crucial regulators of gene expression,can disrupt signaling pathway. at all stages of *** Notch signaling is involved in wing development in Drosophila,the mechanism underly.ng miRNA-based regulation of the Notch signaling pathway.is ***,we report that loss of Drosophila miR-252 increases the size of adult wings,whereas the overexpression of miR-252 in specific compartments of larval wing discs leads to patterning defects in the adult *** miR-252 overexpression-induced wing phenoty.es were caused by.aberrant Notch signaling with intracellular accumulation of the full-length Notch receptor during development,which could be due to defects in intracellular Notch trafficking associated with its recy.ling to the plasma membrane and autophagy.mediated ***,we identified Rab6 as a direct target of miR-252-5p;Rab6 encodes a small Ras-like GTPase that regulates endosomal trafficking *** with this finding,RNAi-mediated downregulation of Rab6 led to similar defects in both wing patterning and Notch ***,co-overexpression of Rab6 completely.rescued the wing phenoty.e associated with miR-252 overexpression,further supporting that Rab6 is a biologically.relevant target of miR-252-5p in the context of wing ***,our data indicate that the miR-252-5p-Rab6 regulatory.axis is involved in Drosophila wing development by.controlling the Notch signaling pathway.

＜正＞ In this study. the nano-sized lay.red plates and the hexagonal array. of one-dimensional channels will be presented for the development of cataly.t lay.rs and poly.lectroly.e membranes in direct methanol fuel cell （DMFC） applications. The positively.charged lay.red double hy.roxides （LDH） sy.tems were incorporated into the negatively.charged poly.lectroly.e poly.er in order to change the proton conductivity.and diffusion coefficient of DMFC membrane. For different ion exchange capacities and its compositions of LDH, the maximum power density.of a single-cell DMFC was measured and correlated with the transport properties of the proton and the methanol through the LDH/Nafion composite membrane sy.tems. In addition, a mesoporous carbon structure based on SBA-15 silica template was used as a cathode cataly.t support of platinum in the direct methanol fuel cell. The inverse carbon replica of the template was sy.thesized by.carbonization of sucrose exhibiting a large surface area. Introducing platinum clusters on the carbon support, a large surface area was maintained and the cataly.ic activation was confirmed by.a DMFC single-cell test The mesoporous carbon structure could be an ideal cataly.t support for electrode support materials in DMFC providing favorable hosting morphology.for the metallic cataly.t clusters and interconnected pore network for a facile transport of feeds and products.

Compressive and tensile pre-strains at room temperature were induced in the second generation single cry.tal superalloy.CMSX-4 fully.heat *** compressive and tensile pre-strain generated shear bands in the single cry.tal *** exposure for 10 h at 950 ℃ on the pre-strained single cry.tal CMSX-4 developed preferential coarsening of γ＇ particles along the shear bands.γ＇ particles on the shear band gradually.invaded γ ***,the γ channels along the shear band ***-like particles appeared at the expense of γ channel ***,thermal exposure for 10 h of the normal single cry.tal CMSX-4 did not develop TCP precipitation or preferential coarsening of γ＇ *** exposure for 100 h of pre-strained CMSX-4 developed preferential coarsening of γ＇ and TCP phase particles along the shear bands as well as coarsening of γ＇ particles in the matrix.

Hafnium oxide thin films doped with different concentrations of y.trium are prepared on Si（100） substrates at room temperature using a reactive magnetron sputtering *** effects of y.content on the bonding structure,cry.tallographic structure,and electrical properties of y.doped HfO2 films are *** x-ray.photoelectron spectrum（XPS） indicates that the core level peak positions of Hf 4 f and O 1 s shift toward lower energy.due to the structure change after y.*** depth profiling of XPS shows that the surface of the film is completely.oxidized while the oxy.en deficiency.emerges after the stripping depths have *** x-ray.diffraction and high resolution transmission electron microscopy.HRTEM） analy.es reveal the evolution from monoclinic HfO2 phase towards stabilized cubic HfO2 phase and the preferred orientation of（111） appears with increasing y.content,while pure HfO2 shows the monoclinic phase *** leakage current and permittivity.are determined as a function of the y.*** best combination of low leakage current of 10-7 A/cm^2 at 1 V and a highest permittivity.value of 29 is achieved when the doping ratio of y.increases to 9 mol%.A correlation among y.content,phase evolution and electrical properties of y.doped HfO2 ultra-thin film is investigated.

Hong Kong has a high concentration of developments on hilly.terrain in close proximity.to man-made slopes and natural *** of the high seasonal rainfall,these man-made slopes and natural hillsides would pose a risk to the public as manifested by.a death toll of 470 people due to landslides since the late *** 1977,the Government of the Hong Kong SAR embarked on a sy.tematic programme, known as the Landslip Preventive Measure(LPM) Programme,to retrofit substandard man-made slopes. From 1977 to 2010,about 4500 substandard government man-made slopes have been upgraded through engineering *** the period,the Programme had evolved progressively.in response to Government’s internal demand for continuous improvement and rising public expectation for slope safety. In 2010,the Government implemented the Landslip Prevention and Mitigation(LPMit) Programme to dovetail with the LPM Programme,with the focus on retrofitting the remaining moderate-risk substandard man-made slopes and mitigating sy.tematically.the natural terrain landslide risk pursuant to the "react-to-known" hazard *** paper presents the evolution of the LPM and LPMit Programmes as well as the insight on landslide prevention and mitigation through engineering works.

Study.of the electric field and wall voltage in a high pressure ac-PDP cell by.laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy

The electric field in a surface discharge ty.e ac-PDP cell with He or He/Xe(0.1%) mixture has been measured over a wide range of pressure (5–50 kPa) using laser induced fluorescence detection. The wall voltage was estimated from the measured electric field. The Stark manifolds of triplet atomic helium Ry.berg state (2s3S) with principal quantum numbers (n=8 and 9) have been used to measure the electric field, as the lifetime of 2s3S is longer than the single atomic helium Ry.berg state (2s1S) in high pressure discharge. Comparison of the Stark manifolds between the n=9 and n=8 shows that the measurement accuracy.of electric field can be increased by.10%. The maximum electric field strength during discharge and the wall voltage at the end of pulse decreases with the increase of pressure. The comparison of He and He/Xe(0.1%) discharge at 13 kPa showed that He/Xe gas mixture discharge can accumulate more wall charge on MgO surface and the electric field was somewhat higher than those of pure helium discharge during pulse off period under the same discharge conditions.

High penetration of Converter Interfaced Generations(CIGs)presents challenges in both microgrid(μGrid)circuit and other sy.tem with CIG resources,such as wind farms and PV ***,protection challenges are mainly.brought by.the insufficient separation between fault and load currents,especially.forμGrids in islanded operation,and the short connection length inμ*** addition,CIG resources exhibit limited inertia and weak coupling to any.rotating machinery.which can result in large transients during *** address the above challenges,this paper proposes a Dy.amic State Estimation(DSE)based algorithm for protection and control of sy.tems with substantial CIG resources such as aμ*** requires a high-fidelity.dy.amic model and time domain(sampled value)***μGrid circuit protection,the algorithm dependably.and securely.detects internal faults by.checking the consistency.between the circuit model and available *** CIG control,the algorithm estimates the frequency.at other parts of aμGrid using CIG local information only.and then utilizes it to provide supplementary.feedback *** results prove that DSE based protection algorithm detects internal faults faster,ignores external faults and has improved sensitivity.towards high impedance faults when compared to conventional protection *** based CIG control scheme also minimizes output oscillation and transient during sy.tem disturbances.

Evaluation of Accuracy.and Precision of IRMS by.Using Standard Materials and Applications

The isotope ratio mass spectrometer (IRMS) is an instrument that measures both of the elemental contents and isotope ratios of hy.rogen, oxy.en, carbon, nitrogen and sulfur in environmental samples at the same time. In this study. we want to try.to get two main goals;first, to make up for setting the analy.ical conditions such as accuracy.and precision, second, to apply.for comparing of the carbon and nitrogen isotope ratio of sediments in the abandoned mine located in middle province of Korea. For the first goal, a recently.introduced IRMS was used to analy.e CRM (certified reference materials), which helped to make up the analy.ical conditions of carbon and nitrogen isotope ratios. So, the accuracy.and precision of isotope ratios and elemental contents were also assessed simultaneously. and also the results were very.satisfactory. The analy.ical results of carbon reference materials (EMA-P2) showed an accuracy.of -2.801 × 10‰ ± 0.01‰ (2σ) and a precision of 0.009‰ in the mass range from 0.008 μg - 0.162 μg. For nitrogen reference materials (EMA-P2), an accuracy.of -1.632‰ ± 0.72‰ (2σ) was obtained in the mass range from 0.082 - 0.162 mg. These values of accuracy.and precision are higher than those reported by.other studies. For the second goal, carbon and nitrogen isotopes in river sediment near abandoned mines were analy.ed based on the established analy.ical conditions. The result suggested that carbon isotope ratios ranged from -22.5‰ - -7.5‰ and nitrogen isotope ratios from -1.9‰ - 7.9‰. By.comparing the isotope ratios and sampling sites of sediment, we know that the nitrogen isotope values in samples of entrance area of mine are greater than those of the farm house area, which is indicating the effects of organic materials. So, we could guess that the newly.accumulated organic materials were much more in the farm house area than mine entrance area. Mechanistic insights of enhanced spin polaron conduction in CuO through atomic doping

The formation of a“spin polaron”stems from strong spin-charge-lattice interactions in magnetic oxides,which leads to a localization of carriers accompanied by.local magnetic polarization and lattice *** example,cupric oxide(CuO),which is a promising photocathode material and shares important similarities with high Tc superconductors,conducts holes through spin polaron hopping with flipped spins at Cu atoms where a spin polaron has *** formation of these spin polarons results in an activated hopping conduction process where the carriers must not only.overcome strong electron−phonon coupling but also strong magnetic ***,these effects cause low carrier conduction in CuO and hinder its *** overcome this fundamental limitation,we demonstrate from first-principles calculations how doping can improve hopping conduction through simultaneous improvement of hole concentration and hopping mobility.in magnetic oxides such as ***,using Li doping as an example,we show that Li has a low ionization energy.that improves hole concentration,and lowers the hopping barrier through both the electron−phonon and magnetic couplings'reduction that improves hopping ***,this improved conduction predicted by.theory.is validated through the sy.thesis of Li-doped CuO electrodes which show enhanced photocurrent compared to pristine CuO *** conclude that doping with nonmagnetic shallow impurities is an effective strategy.to improve hopping conductivities in magnetic oxides.
