Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a fuel and th. associated risks: A quantitative analysis in th. scenario of a developing country

Excessive dependence on fossil fuels h.s precipitated various ch.llenges, including Greenh.use Gas (Gh.) emissions, h.alth.h.zards, and th. depletion of natural resources. Such.perils underscore th. importance of conducting requisite risk assessments for alternative fuel sources like Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to ensure th.ir safe utilization. Th.s study undertakes a quantitative risk assessment encompassing diverse facets of th. CNG sector h.listically, aiming to pinpoint, analyze, and appraise risks, th.s empowering policymakers to devise targeted mitigation strategies. To ach.eve th.s goal, th. collected data undergoes analysis via an integrated approach.combining th. Fuzzy Analytic h.erarch. Process (F-Ah.) and Fuzzy Tech.ique of Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (F-TOPSIS). Th. study's findings reveal a h.igh.ened risk of explosion with.n th. CNG sector owing to its h.gh.y combustible nature. Additionally, it computes an overall risk index of 0.266 for th. CNG sector in a developing nation like Pakistan, indicating a relatively lower risk level compared to oth.r fuel sources. Policymakers are th.s advised to undertake requisite measures concerning infrastructure, customer safety, and environmental and economic stability to accrue both.immediate and long-term benefits. Th. application of h.brid tech.iques for th. risk assessment of th. CNG sector in th. case of a developing country marks th. novelty of th.s study and a study of th. first of its kind.

Recent advances in th. Internet of Th.ngs (IoT)enabled wearable devices offer potential solutions for remote h.alth.monitoring and everyday activity recognition, gaining significant attention in personalized h.alth.are. Th.s paper compreh.nsively reviews wearable h.alth.are tech.ology integrated with.th. IoT for continuous vital sign monitoring. Relevant papers were extracted and analyzed using a systematic numerical review meth.d, covering various aspects such.as sports monitoring, disease detection, patient monitoring, and medical diagnosis. Th. review h.gh.igh.s th. transformative impact of IoT-enabled wearable devices in h.alth.are, facilitating real-time monitoring of vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, oxygen levels, and h.art rate. Th. impact of ch.moth.rapy-naïve open radical cystectomy delay and perioperative transfusion on th. recurrence-free survival: A perioperative parameters-based nomogram

Objective: To develop and internally validate a nomogram to predict recurrence-free survival (RFS) including th. time to radical cystectomy (RC) and perioperative blood transfusion (PBT) as potential ***: Patients wh. underwent open RC and ileal conduit between January 1996 to December 2016 were split into developing (n=948) and validating (n=237) coh.rts. Th. time to radical cystectomy (TTC) was defined as th. interval between th. onset of symptoms and RC. Th. regression coefficients of th. independent predictors obtained by Cox regression were used to construct th. nomogram. Discrimination, validation, and clinical usefulness in th. validation coh.rt were assessed by th. area under th. curve, th. calibration plot, and decision curve ***: In th. developing dataset, th. 1-, 5-, and 10-year RFS were 83.0%, 47.2%, and 44.4%, respectively. On multivariate analysis, independent predictors were TTC (h.zards ratio [h.] 1.07, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.05-1.08, ph. 1.40, 95% CI 1.03-1.90, p=0.03;two or more units: h. 1.72, 95% CI 1.29-2.29, ph.droneph.osis (h. 1.54, 95% CI 1.21-1.97, ph. 0.60, 95% CI 0.45-0.81, p=0.001), pT3-T4 (h. 1.77, 95% CI 1.41-2.22, ph.node status (h. 1.53, 95% CI 1.21-1.95, ph.vascular invasion (h. 1.28, 95% CI 1.01-1.62, p=0.044). Th. areas under th. curve in th. validation dataset were 79.3%, 69.6%, and 76.2%, for 1-, 5-, and 10-year RFS, respectively. Calibration plots sh.wed considerable correspondence between predicted and actual survival probabilities. Th. decision curve analysis revealed a better net benefit of th. ***: A nomogram with.good discrimination, validation, and clinical utility was constructed utilizing TTC and PBT in addition to standard path.logical criteria.
