Al-Cu alloy was deformed through equal channel angular pressing(ECAP) by routes A,Ba,Bc and C up to 5 *** was done using a 90° die for three different conditions,namely 1) as received,2) solutionised at 768 K for 1 h and 3) solutionised at 768 K for 1 h + aged at 468 K for 5 *** microstructure,microhardness and tensile strength were studied for all the three conditions and four *** improvement in hardness(HV 184 after five passes) and strength(602 MPa after three passes) was observed in solutionised and aged 2014 Al alloy deformed through route *** evolution was reasonably equiaxed in route Bc with aspect ratio of *** and aged 2014 Al alloy deformed through route Bc was identified to have better microstructure and mechanical property than the other processing routes and conditions.

We investigated the compositional and structural differences in sequences derived from different fractions of wheat genomic DNA obtained using methylation filtration and Cot fractionation. Comparative analysis of these sequences revealed large compositional and structural variations in terms of GC content, different structural elements including repeat sequences （e.g., transposable elements and simple sequence repeats）, protein coding genes, and non-coding RNA genes. A correlation between methylation status [determined on the basis of selective inclusion/ exclusion in methylation-filtered （MF） library] of different repeat elements and expression level was observed. The expression levels were determined by comparing MF sequences with expressed sequence tags （ESTs） available in the public domain. Only a limited overlap among ME high Cot （HC）, and ESTs was observed, suggesting that these sequences may largely either represent the low-copy non-transcribed sequences or include genes with low expression levels. Thus, these results indicated a need to study MF and HC sequences along with ESTs to fully appreciate complexity of wheat gene space.

In order to understand the tribological behavior of red mud composite coatings, the red mud and composite materials like fly ash, carbon and aluminum are being plasma sprayed. The coatings are investigated to know their morphological behavior and erosion wear characteristics. Plasma spraying is done at different plasma arc current like 200, 250, 300 and 400 amperes. Torch input powers maintained as 6, 9, 12 and 16 KW. The substrates chose are rectangular in shape having a dimension of 50 mm × 25 mm × 2 mm. commercially available aluminum, copper, mild steel and stainless steel being used as substrate. Room temperature solid particle erosion trials are carried out using a compressed air blasting type rig under impact angles of 30o, 60o and 90o. The present investigation uses an erosion apparatus of Sand Blast type. The test is conducted as per ASTMG-76 standards. It is analyzed that initially the cumulative coating mass loss increases rapidly and later on becomes almost stagnant. A transient regime in the erosion process exists, during which the incremental erosion rate decreases monotonically down to a steady state erosion rate.

Quantitative glacial chronologies of past glaciations are sparse in the Himalaya, and mostly absent in the Kashmir Himalaya. We used cosmogenicBe exposure dating, and geomorphological mapping to reconstruct glacial advances of the Thajwas Glacier(TG) in the Great Himalayan Range of the Kashmir Himalaya. FromBe exposure dating of ten moraine boulders, four glacial stages with ages ~20.77 ±2.28 ka, ~11.46 ± 1.69 ka, ~9.12 ± 1.39 ka and ~4.19 ± 0.78 ka, were identified. The reconstructed cosmogenic radionuclide ages confirmed the global Last Glacial Maximum(g LGM), Younger Dryas, Early Holocene, and Neoglaciation episodes. As per area and volume change analyses, the TG has lost 51.1 km~2 of its area and a volume of 2.64 km~3 during the last 20.77 ± 2.28 ka. Overall, the results suggested that the TG has lost 64% of area and 73% of volume from the Last glacial maximum to Neoglaciation and about 85.74% and 87.67% of area and volume, respectively, from Neoglaciation to the present day. The equilibrium line altitude of the TG fluctuated from 4238 m a.s.l present to3365 m a.s.l during the g LGM(20.77 ± 2.28 ka). The significant cooling induced by a drop in mean ambient temperature resulted in a positive mass balance of the TG during the g LGM. Subsequently the melting accelerated due to the continuing rise of the global ambient temperature. Paleo-glacial history reconstruction of the Kashmir Himalaya, with its specific geomorphic and climatic setting, would help close the information gap about the chronology of past regional glacial episodes.

A new impurity was detected during high performance liquid chromatographic （HPLC） analysis of eslicarbazepine acetate active pharmaceutical ingredient. The structure of unknown impurity was postulated based on liquid chromatography mass spectrometry using electrospray ionization and ion trap analyzer （LC/ESI-IT/MS） analysis. Proposed structure of impurity was unambiguously confirmed by synthesis followed by characterization using 1H, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry （NMR）, 1H-1H correlation spectro-scopy （COSY） and infrared spectroscopy （IR）. Based on the spectroscopic and spectrometric data, unknown impurity was characterized as 5-carbamoyl-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[b,f]azepin-10-yl propionate.

The present investigation is focused on the influence of the nanocrystalline structure of pure iron metal on the ultrasonic properties in the temperature range 100 - 300 K. The ultrasonic attenuation due to phonon- phonon interaction and thermoelastic relaxation phenomena has been evaluated for longitudinal and shear waves along , and crystallographic directions. The second-and third-order elastic constants, ultrasonic velocities, thermal relaxation, anisotropy and acoustic coupling constants were also com- puted for the evaluation of ultrasonic attenuation in this temperature scale. The direction is most ap- propriate to study longitudinal sound waves, while , direction are best to propagate shear waves due to lowest values of attenuation in these directions. Other physical properties correlated with obtained results have been discussed.

Objective:To assess acute otitis media with facial nerve paralysis,its prognosis,and ***:It is a retrospective *** patients of acute otitis media associated with facial nerve paralysis attended the outpatient department of otorhinolaryngology between May 2017 and April *** patients were clinically assessed with appropriate investigations,prognosis,and ***:Out of 13 patients,2 were identified with complete facial paralysis and the remaining 11 patients presented with incomplete *** treatment including antibiotics and corticosteroids failed,while myringotomy and facial nerve decompression were done with a favorable *** patients recovered to grade-Ⅰ (House-Brackmann) and 2 cases to grade-Ⅱ (House-Brackmann).Conclusion:Peripheral facial nerve paralysis in acute otitis media is *** and steroids yield good outcome as conservative *** case of failure by conservative treatment,facial nerve decompression yields a favorable outcome.

土丁桂属草药是作用于中枢神经系统的印度传统药物,特别是对促进记忆和改善智力有较好疗效。从印度传统医学和梵语文献中提取的大量信息提示,冠以土丁桂属草药名称的植物类别共4种:旋花科田旋花、旋花科土丁桂、蝶形花科蝴蝶花豆和龙胆科穿心草。这些草药名称均在古代文献中有所记载,可单独使用或与其他药材组合成各种草药处方。本文就现有的科学信息,如土丁桂属不同植物来源物种的生药学特征、化学成分、药理作用、临床前及临床应用等方面进行述评,以期为科学地应用土丁桂提供依据。此外,还可根据不同植物来源土丁桂属草药的不同功效进行鉴别应用。
