Comparison of QT Correction Methods in the Pediatric Population of a Community Hospital: A Retrospective Study

Background:There are substantial regional differences in drinking alcohol in Russia,both at the population and individual ***,the causes of these differences have not been studied ***:The goal of our study was to examine the effect of regional living conditions on individual alcohol consumption by the population of ***:For the analysis,we used data from a cross-sectional epidemiological study conducted in *** final analytical sample included 18,130 people aged 25-64 *** conducted the interviews face to face,based on which any drinking in the last year,as well as alcohol abuse,were considered as a *** abuse was recorded when the respondent consumed 5.75 or more grams of pure ethanol per day(75th percentile of average daily alcohol consumption among alcohol drinkers).The assessment of the regional living conditions was accomplished via integral indexing,which was previously performed based on publicly available data for *** were assessed using generalized scoring equations with unchanging standard *** associations were expressed by odds ratios(OR)and 95%confidence intervals(C).Results:Deterioration of social conditions and increase in demographic depression in the region of residence increased the odds of any drinking(OR 1.51,95%CI:1.33 to 1.72,P<0.001 and OR 1.22,95%CI:1.05 to 1.41,P=***9,respectively).The odds of alcohol abuse increased with the deterioration of social living conditions and the growth of the industrial development in the region:OR 1.35,95%CI:1.14 to 1.59,P<0.001 and OR 1.16,95%CI:1.05 to 1.28,P=0.002,***:Our analysis allowed assessing the impact of the regional living conditions on individual drinking alcohol in the population of Russia.

Efficacy of Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray in Delayed Antibiotic Prescriptions for Acute Rhinosinusitis: A Multicenter, Randomized, Open-Label, Comparative, Prospective, Parallel Group Study

While their clinical presentation is similar, post-viral rhinosinusitis does not indicate the possible development of bacterial rhinosinusitis which occurs in only 0.5% to 5% of all cases of ARS. However, unreasonable antibacterial therapy is prescribed in 54% to 77% of cases. The perspective is to use delayed antibacterial therapy management. The purpose of the study was to investigate the efficacy of mometasone furoate nasal spray within the delayed prescription approach. Methods : A multicenter, randomized, open-label, comparative, prospective, parallel group study enrolled a total of 156 patients with ARS aged 18 to 60 years, of them 155 patients completed the study. The patients were randomized into the main group of Mometasone Furoate (Flix) Nasal Spray or into the control group of amoxicillin clavulanate tablets while both groups were administered a standard ARS therapy. Findings : The use of MF nasal spray within the delayed antibiotics prescription approach has a significantly higher efficacy compared to the immediate antibiotics prescription in the first days of treatment (p < 0.05). Antibacterial therapy was prescribed to 42.3% of patients in the main group compared to 100.0% of patients in the control group (p < 0.05). It was shown that there were statistically significant differences in the dynamics of changes in the total symptom score between the patients administered antibiotics and the antibiotic-naive patients. Conclusion: The use of MF within the delayed antibiotics prescription approach reliably improves the pattern of symptoms over time at the disease onset and significantly reduces the need for NSAIDs administration and antibiotics prescription frequency.

The characteristics, performance and application of membrane sensors based on ion-pair Brilliant Green mefenamate are described. The sensor＇s response to the mefenamate ion has the sensitivity of （86.0 ± 2.0） mV/pC over the range of 9 × 10 s-I × 10 2 mol/L and the detection limit of 4.5 ×10 s mol/L at pH 8.5-12. The sensor is easily assembled at a relatively low cost and has fast response time （5-10 s）. The proposed sensor displayed good selectivity for mefenamate ion in the presence of different substances. It was used to determine mefenamic acid in pharmaceuticals.

A comparative study of the structure and mechanical behavior of an Al-5 Mg-0.18 Mn-0.2 Sc-0.08 Zr-0.01 Fe-0.01 Si(wt.%)alloy ingot subjected to multidirectional isothermal forging(MIF)to a strain of 12 or equal-channel angular pressing(ECAP)to a strain of 10 at 325℃,and subsequent warm and cold rolling(WR and CR)at 325 and 20℃,was *** results showed that the MIF process of ultrafine-grained structure with a(sub)grain size dUFG=2μm resulted in enhanced room-temperature ductility and superplastic elongation up to 2800%.Further grain refinement under WR as well as development of a heavily-deformed microstructure with high dislocation density by subsequent CR resulted in a yield/ultimate tensile strength increase from 235/360 MPa after MIF to 315/460 and 400/515 MPa after WR and CR,***,WR led to improved superplastic elongation up to 4000%,while after CR the elongation remained sufficiently high(up to 1500%).Compared with MIF,ECAP resulted in more profound grain refinement(dUFG=1μm),which promoted higher strength and superplastic ***,this effect smoothed down upon WR,ensuring equal properties of the processed *** of the ECAPed alloy,in contrast,led to higher strengthening and slightly better superplastic behavior than those after CR following MIF.
