目的：评估血浆凝集素样氧化型低密度脂蛋白受体-1和脂联素在冠心病合并代谢综合征患者中的水平。方法：收集2009年8月-2010年6月间我院心内科住院的冠心病患者为研究对象,其中平均年龄为66岁的冠心病者30例（CAD组,男13,女7）;平均年龄为6 1岁的冠心病合并代谢综合征者30例（CAD+MS组,13男,17女）;平均年龄为53岁的代谢综合征者30例（MS组,23男,7女）;平均年龄为51岁的来我院体检中心的正常健康对照组30例（22男,8女）。对所有的研究对象进行问卷获取一般资料,并收集外周肘静脉血检测生化指标,采用ELISA法检测LOX-1和脂联素的浓度。结果：血压和BMI在CAD+MS组（142±9mmHg/82±7 mmHg、27.2±1Kg/m2）、MS组（136±6 mmHg/74±7mmHg、25.6±1 Kg/m2）合CAD组（129±10mmHg/77±7mmHg、23.7±1.3 Kg/m2）均高于正常对照组（124±8 mmHg/72±5mmHg、21.1±1.5 Kg/m2）,且差异有统计学意义（均P＜0.05）;血浆甘油三酯、空腹血糖、谷草转氨酶、谷丙转氨酶、肌酐、尿酸和高敏C反应蛋白在CAD+MS组（2.1±1.4mmol/L、6.2±0. mmol/L、23.5±4.8 U/L、21.2±4 U/L、89.3±16 mg/L、314.7±55.1 mmol/L、12.0±8.5 mg/L）均高于正常对照组（0.84±0.3mmol/L、4.5±0.3 mmol/L、11.2±3.6U/L、14.5±4.5U/L、71.0±9.8 mg/L、251.9±42mmol/L、0.7±0.8mg/L）,且差异有统计学意义（均P＜0.05）。尿素氮在CAD组（5.5±0.9mmol/L）均高于CAD+MS组（5.3±1mmol/L）、MS组（4.8±1.4mmol/L）和正常对照组（3.9±0.6mmol/L）、且差异有统计学意义（均P＜0.05）。血浆LOX-1在CAD+MS组（435.9±105.9pg/ml）水平最高,其次是CAD组（196.2±40.4pg/ml）、MS组（140.9±15pg/ml）、正常对照组（87.1±8.5 pg/ml）,且各组间差异有统计学意义（均P＜0.05）。相反,脂联素在CAD+MS组（263.6±26.6μg/L）水平最低,其次是CAD组（369.9±20.7μg/L）、MS组（450.8±25μg/L）、正常对照组（510.9±29.3μtg/L）,且四组间差异有统计学意义（均P＜0.05）。进一步分析发现,血浆LOX-1和脂联素水平不受年龄和性别的影响,且二者的变化呈显著负相关。结论：冠心病患者血浆LOX-1的水平增高,以CAD+MS组增高最为显著;相反,冠心病患者血浆脂联素的水平降低,以CAD+MS组降低最为显著。

Morphological and Genetical Variability among Rhizoctonia solani Isolates Causing Sheath Blight Disease of Rice

Eighteen isolates of Rhizoctonia solani collected from infected rice plants in four different locations of Bangladesh were studied by using morphological characters and molecular markers. Anastomosis study with a reference isolate confirmed that all the isolates belonged to R. solani. Significant variation was observed in sclerotial size, shape and distribution. Un-weighted pair group method with arithmetic mean dendrogram constructed based on the Gower＇s general similarity coefficient showed that these isolates were grouped into four clusters at the 0.68 similarity coefficent according to morphological characters. Cluster I was a major cluster consisting of 13 isolates, while clusters Ⅱ to Ⅳ consisted of 1 or 2 isolates. Analyses by variable number of tandem repeat and amplified fragment length polymorphism markers showed that the isolates were grouped into five and three clusters at a similarity coefficient of 0.64 and 0.69, respectively. Although most of the variability was found between isolates from different regions as expected, significant variation was observed within the isolates collected from similar agro-ecological regions. Our results suggest the presence of different races of R. solani within the same local geographic regions.

In this paper,an improvement has been made to the approximation technique of a complex domain through the stair-step approach to have a considerable accuracy,minimize computational cost,and avoid the hardship of manual work.A novel stair-step representation algorithm is used in this regard,where the entire procedure is carried out through our developed MATLAB *** C-grid is used in our approximation with(1/120)°grid *** a test case,the method is applied to approximate the domain covering the area between 15°-23°N latitudes and 85°-95°E longitudes in the Bay of *** with the approximation of the land-sea interface,coastal stations are also *** land-sea interfaces and coastal stations are found to be in good agreement with the actual ones based on the similarity index,overlap fraction,and extra fraction *** method can be used for approximating an irregular geometric domain to employ the finite difference method in solving problems related to long *** a test case,shallow water equations in Cartesian coordinates are solved on the domain of interest for simulating water levels due to the nonlinear tide-surge interaction associated with the storms April 1991 and AILA,2009 along the coast of *** same input except for the discretized domain and bathymetry as that of Paul et al.(2016)is used in our *** results are found to be in reasonable agreement with the observed data procured from Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority.

Objectives: We aimed to explore the diagnostic value of circulating miRNAs(miR-149, miR-208 b, miR-378, miR-424, miR-499 and miR-765) in AMI patients, and protective role of miR-208 b or miR-378 or metoprolol during H/R injury in H9c2 cell with their underlying mechanisms. Methods: 205 AMI patients and 85 healthy subjects, twelve week-old C57BL/6 mice AMI and H9c2 cells were included in this study. Total RNA was isolated from plasma and cardiac cell with TRIzol reagent. Circulating miRNAs levels were measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results: We found that miR-208 b, miR-499 and miR-765 levels were significantly up-regulated by 9.6 fold, 5.2 fold, and 5.1 fold in AMI patients compared with healthy subjects(p<0.001). Plasma miR-149, miR-378 and miR-424 levels were markedly downregulated by 5.5 fold, 4.9 fold and 5 fold in AMI patients compared with controls(p<0.001). Plasma levels of these miRNAs were returned towards normal at 96 h after PCI(p<0.001). We also found that plasma miR-208 b, miR-499 and miR-765 levels were significantly elevated by 11.5 fold, 3.9 fold, and 4.7 fold, while miR-149, miR-378 and miR-424 levels were noticeably decreased by 3.7 fold, 4.1 fold and 3.8 fold in Mice AMI compared with controls(p<0.001). The ROC curves of plasma miR-208 b, miR-499, miR-765, miR-149, miR-378 and miR-424 represented a strong discrimination between AMI patients and healthy subjects, with an area under curve(AUC) of 0.974, 0.971, 0.965, 0.963 0.969 and 0.973, respectively. Conclusions: Our findings suggested that miR-208 b, miR-499, miR-765, miR-149, miR-378, miR-424 may be used as a novel and sensitive diagnostic biomarker for AMI patients. Inhibition of miR-208 b and overexpression of miR-378 were effectively protected cardiomyocyte damage during H/R injury through their potential targets NLK and TRAF6, represents a new therapeutic approach for ischemic heart disease. The speed of increasing threats to the riverine water resources makes it more critical to protect the health of Old Brahmaputra River *** current study was done to investigate the concentrations,distributions,sources,and ecological risk of heavy metals in surface sediment from the Old Brahmaputra River,*** were collected from seven sites and analyzed with an inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer(ICP-MS).The results showed that mean concentrations(mg/kg) of heavy metals were in the order of nickel(Ni)(44.69)> chromium(Cr)(30.16)> lead(Pb)(19.31)>copper(Cu)(17.84)> cadmium(Cd)(3.94)> arsenic(As)(2.73).The contamination factor(CF),pollution load index(PLI),enrichment factor(EF),and geo-accumulation index(Igeo) indicated low to moderate *** unit analysis revealed that the studied metals from all stations posed low *** sediment of the study river was uncontaminated to moderately contaminated,posing a minimal ecological ***,Cr,Ni,and Pb originated from anthropogenic sources rather than geogenic sources,and caused the severity of *** this regard,pollutant-based intensive monitoring of heavy metals and holistic ecological risk assessments are required to maintain a sound and healthy aquatic environment in the river.

Comparative Study on Semen Quality and Fertility of Red Chittagong Cattle, BCB1 and Munshiganj Bulls of Bangladesh

The present study was conducted to analyze the fresh and post-thaw semen quality and fertility from native bulls of Red Chittagong Cattle (RCC), BLRI Cattle Breed 1 (BCB1), and Munshiganj Cattle of Bangladesh. One hundred and seventy-two ejaculates were collected by artificial vagina set and semen analysis was performed using Computer Assisted Sperm Analyzer (CASA) at Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute. Commercial extender (AndroMed) was used to dilute the fresh semen. After equilibration (4°C for 4 hr), freezing was done using a programmable bio-freezer. Post-thawed semen was evaluated for sperm motility and kinematics. Cryopreserved semen straws were used for artificial insemination (AI) and determined the bull fertility based on 60 days non-return rate. Motility of the sperm differs significantly (p 0.05) among the bulls but the highest concentration was found in Munshiganj bull (1669.60 ± 192.07 million/ml) followed by RCC (1648.70 ± 91.07 million/ml) and BCB1 bull (1481.60 ± 167.35 million/ml). Moreover, the highest bent tail (5.89 ± 0.75%), coiled tail (1.01% ± 0.22%) and distal mid-piece reflex (2.26% ± 0.28%) were observed in BCB1 followed by Munshiganj and RCC. Amplitude of lateral head displacement (ALH) was recorded higher in post-thaw than in fresh semen. Kinematics parameters of post-thaw semen decreased than fresh semen irrespective of genotypes. More number of doses/ejaculates can be produced from Munshiganj bull (394.34 ± 127.95) followed by RCC (349.01 ± 120.91) and BCB 1 bulls (331 ± 98.99). Fertility rate does not differ among the bulls (p > 0.05) but the highest value was found for RCC (62.06% ± 1.94%) bulls. Therefore, it can be concise that, the quality of Red Chittagong Cattle semen is better than BCB 1 and Munshigang bull.

A study on the detection of probable radionuclides and their activity concentrations in the raw material (phosphate rock), final product (fertilizer) and waste samples collected from all the phosphate fertilizer factories (total two factories—A Diammonium Phosphate, DAP and a Triple Super Phosphate, TSP factory) in Bangladesh were carried out. A total of seven types of samples (grossly divided into solid and liquid types);liquid waste, waste-mixed river water, normal river water, phosphate rock, phosphate fertilizer, solid waste and normal soil;were analyzed under this study. Raw material samples were collected only from the TSP fertilizer factory. Fertilizer, solid and liquid waste samples were collected from both the factories under study. Moreover, normal soil and natural surface water samples from the suitable areas adjacent to the factories were also collected for the comparison purpose. The samples were analyzed by gamma ray spectrometry technique using a Hyper-Pure Germanium (HPGe) detector of 40% relative efficiency. The analysis of the samples showed that only natural radionuclides such as 226Ra, 232Th and 40K were present in the samples and no traces of artificial radioactivity were found in any of the samples. 40K was found below the detection limit in some samples. The analysis of the samples in the case of TSP fertilizer factory showed that the average activity concentrations of 226Ra and 232Th and 40K in raw materials were 851.27 ± 7.10, 19.63 ± 6.57 and 54.06 ± 5.93 Bq/kg, respectively, in final product 211.90 ± 4.74, 42.48 ± 10.56 Bq/kg and ND (Not Detected), respectively, in solid waste 187.49 ± 4.88, 70.06 ± 11.76 and 289.27 ± 40.24 Bq/kg, respectively and in liquid waste 6.26 ± 0.63, 10.01 ± 1.39 Bq/L and ND, respectively. The measured results in the case of samples collected from DAP fertilizer factory showed that the average activity concentrations of 226Ra and 232Th and 40K in the final product were 17.31 ± 3.92, 69.74 ± 9.88 and 48.46 ± 17.22

Pavement management systems(PMS)are used by transportation government agencies to promote sustainable development and to keep road pavement conditions above the minimum performance levels at a reasonable *** accomplish this objective,the pavement condition is monitored to predict deterioration and determine the need for maintenance or rehabilitation at the appropriate *** pavement condition index(PCI)is a commonly usedmetric to evaluate the pavement's *** research aims to create and evaluate prediction models for PCI values using multiple linear regression(MLR),artificial neural networks(ANN),and fuzzy logic inference(FIS)models for flexible pavement *** authors collected field data spans for 2018 and *** pavement distress factors were considered inputs for predicting PCI values,such as rutting,fatigue cracking,block cracking,longitudinal cracking,transverse cracking,patching,potholes,and *** study evaluates the performance of the three techniques based on the coefficient of determination,root mean squared error(RMSE),and mean absolute error(MAE).The results show that the R2 values of the ANN models increased by 51.32%,2.02%,36.55%,and 3.02%compared toMLR and FIS(2018 and 2021).The error in the PCI values predicted by the ANNmodel was significantly lower than the errors in the prediction by the FIS and MLR models.
