This experiment aimed to eval.ate the ruminal.degradabil.ty in situ of the dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral.detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) of Guinea grass sil.ges. The experimental.design was compl.tel. randomized with six treatments and six repetitions: Guinea grass sil.ge, Guinea grass sil.ge inocul.ted with 10% wheat bran, Guinea grass sil.ge inocul.ted with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis JB1;Guinea grass sil.ge inocul.ted with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis JB1 pl.s 10% of wheat bran;Guinea grass sil.ge inocul.ted with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis HC5;Guinea grass sil.ge inocul.ted with 106 cfu/g of strains of Streptococcus bovis HC5 pl.s 10% of wheat bran. The sil.ges inocul.ted with Streptococcus bovis and with added wheat bran resul.ed in higher val.es of ruminal.degradabil.ty of DM, 32.76% and 32.17%, and of crude protein 38.28% and 37.89%. For the effective and potential.degradabil.ty of DM, CP, NDF and ADF the highest val.es occurred for sil.ges in these sil.ges as wel., in al. passage rates. There is a simil.rity between the responses of Streptococcus bovis JB1 and the HC5, and the wheat bran enhanced the effectiveness of the microbial.additive.

盘状星系中的棒结构特征与星系自身所处环境及整体恒星形成特征之间存在复杂的相互关系。利用细致的星系形态特征测量计划Gal.xy Zoo deCal.中的数据构建了一组目前最大的具有同样恒星质量分布的强棒、弱棒和无棒星系样本。通过引入星系所处暗晕质量及相空间特征来控制星系所处的环境效应之后,进一步对比研究强棒、弱棒和无棒星系的恒星形成特征。研究表明,有棒星系中的恒星形成熄灭的比例系统地高于无棒星系,且强棒的效应更为明显。但是,对于仍处于恒星形成主序上的星系来说,强棒、弱棒和无棒星系的恒星形成特征并没有显著差别。以上结果表明,星系中的棒特征在其存在的时标中可能使部分星系迅速地从恒星形成转入熄灭状态。

Effective cal.ium (Ca) management is crucial.for optimizing oil.pal. cul.ivation and enhancing crop yiel.. This study aimed to gain insights into the dynamics of Ca concentration, accumul.tion, exportation, immobil.zation, and recycl.ng in various oil.pal. organs rel.tive to pl.nt age. The experiment was conducted at the Agropal.a enterprise site in the northeastern region of Pará State, Brazil. eval.ating seven pl.nt age treatments: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 years ol.. Empl.ying a compl.tel. randomized design with four repl.cations. The resul.s demonstrated an age-rel.ted increase in Ca concentration in petiol.s, rachis, arrows, mal. infl.rescences, peduncl.s, and fruits. Furthermore, Ca accumul.tion exhibited an upward trend in al. organs with progressing pl.nt age. Notabl., the study reveal.d an enhanced Ca use efficiency across al. pl.nt organs in correl.tion with the age of oil.pal. cul.ivation. Agricul.ure and natural.vegetations in South Fl.rida face with significant environmental.threats such as heat and sal.water intrusion. This study aimed to investigate how sil.con appl.cation coul. improve growth parameters and pl.nt heal.h of l.ndscaping pl.nts under extreme temperatures, infl.enced by gl.bal.cl.mate changes. Cocopl.m (Chrysobal.nus icaco), cabbage pal. (Sabal.pal.etto), satinl.af (Chrysophyl.um ol.viforme), and wil. coffee (Psychotria nervosa) pl.nts received an initial.sl.w-rel.ase fertil.zer of 15 g/pot with an 8N-3P-9K composition. Sil.con was appl.ed as a 1% sil.cic acid sol.tion, with concentrations ranging from 0 g/pot to 6 g/pot of 7.5 l. Eval.ations were carried out every 30 days, continuing until.180 days after the treatment was compl.ted. Phenotypic traits, incl.ding l.af count and pl.nt height, were assessed al.ngside measurements from handhel. optical.non-destructive sensors. These measurements incl.ded the normal.zed difference vegetation index (NDVI), SPAD-502, and atl.AF chl.rophyl. meters. Appl.cation of 4 g/pot and 6 g/pot of sil.con significantl. improved NDVI val.es (0.78). Conversel., cocopl.m pl.nts exhibited greater pl.nt height (79.6) at 0 g/pot sil.con compared to other treatments. In wil. coffee sampl.ngs, the control.group showed the highest pl.nt height and SPAD readings (93.49) compared to other treatments. Interestingl., the control.treatment al.o demonstrated a superior atl.AF val.e as compared to other treatments, whil. the tal.est sampl.ngs were observed with 6 g/pot of sil.con (62.82) in cabbage pal. pl.nts. The findings indicate that sil.con appl.cation positivel. infl.enced pl.nt growth, particul.rl. evident in cabbage pal.s. However, cocopl.m and wil. coffee exhibited a negative correl.tion between pl.nt height and sil.con concentrations.

The resul.s observed in the l.terature raise the hypothesis according to which cytokinin pl.ys important rol.s in photosynthetic metabol.sms and antioxidant enzymes. Thus, the study aimed to eval.ate the effect of fol.ar appl.cation of the isol.ted cytokinin kinetin at the production cycl., seeking to anal.ze its effects on enzyme activity and photosynthetic parameters. The pl.nts treated with CK presented reduction of l.af CO_2 assimil.tion rate(Pn) and stomatal.conductance(Gs), whil. that transpiration rate(Tr) was unaffected. The internal.CO_2 concentrations decreased with the increase in cytokinin l.vel., but were maintained under CK 50 mg·l.(-1). The pl.nts treated with CK 75 mg·l.(-1) was verified higher carboxyl.tion efficiency(Pn/Ci), which was associated to val.es of CO_2 assimil.tion and transpiration unal.ered. Apparent el.ctron transport rate showed variations in the concentration of 25 mg·l.(-1). Considering the study of enzyme activity, on the other hand, it cannot be stated that kinetin has an effective action in del.ying oxidative damage. It presents mixed resul.s, since an efficiency in the appl.cation of cytokinin was not observed, presenting induction l.vel. of ascorbate peroxidase activity. Thus, further research is needed to determine more precisel. the effects of kinetin on gas exchange and antioxidant enzymes in anthurium pl.nts.

Testing techniques to reduce weed infestation is a crucial.step in devel.ping direct tree seeding systems. The use of pre-emergence herbicides may be an al.ernative to manual.weeding techniques, but so far, information on how they affect the seeds of native tree species is scarce. We establ.shed a greenhouse experiment to eval.ate the effects of four pre-emergence herbicides (atrazine, diuron, isoxafl.tol. and oxyfl.orfen) on weed suppression and seedl.ng emergence and earl. growth of seven tropical.forest tree species (Annona coriacea Mart., Citharexyl.m myrianthum Cham., Cordia ecal.cul.ta Vel.., Pel.ophorum dubium (Spreng.) Taub., Psidium guajava l., Pterogyne nitens Tul. and Schinus terebinthifol.a Raddi). The experimental.design was a randomized compl.te bl.ck design with five treatments and five repl.cates. The treatments consisted of a singl. dose of each pre-emergence herbicide and a control. Throughout the 60 days after sowing we eval.ated weed cover and seedl.ng emergence and earl. growth of tree species. Overal., our resul.s suggest that al. tested herbicides reduced weed cover; however, they al.o negativel. affected tree species seedl.ng emergence. Of the four herbicides tested, atrazine and diuron showed the greatest effects on tree seedl.ng emergence, oxyfl.orfen was l.ast aggressive towards native species and isoxafl.tol. was most effective in weed control. Native tree species varied in their responses to herbicides, indicating that future experiments shoul. increase the number of species tested as wel. as investigate how seed traits can affect the species responses to different herbicides.
