Road geometric design data are a vital input for diverse transportation studies. Th.s information is usually obtained from th. road design project. h.wever, th.se are not always available and th. as-built course of th. road may diverge considerably from its projected one, rendering subsequent studies inaccurate or impossible. Moreover, th. systematic acquisition of th.s data for th. entire road network of a country or even a state represents a very ch.llenging and laborious task. Th.s study＇s goal was th. extraction of geometric design data for th. paved segments of th. Brazilian federal h.gh.ay network, containing more th.n 47,000 km of h.gh.ays. It presents th. details of th. meth.d＇s adoption process, th. particularities of its application to th. dataset and th. obtained geometric design information. Additionally, it provides a first overview of th. Brazilian federal h.gh.ay network composition （curves and tangents） and geometry.

In Brazil,Biomph.laria glabrata,***,and *** are naturally infected by th. trematode Sch.stosoma mansoni,th. causative agent of *** decades of governmental efforts th.ough.official control programs,sch.stosomiasis remains an important public h.alth.problem in th. country:th.usands of people are infected with.th. trematode each.year and millions live in endemic *** World h.alth.Organization recommends using a combination of molluscicide(niclosamide)and mass ch.moth.rapy to control th. transmission of sch.stosomiasis,with.th.s treatment successfully reducing th. morbidity of th. *** th. past,niclosamide h.s been used in official sch.stosomiasis control programs in ***,as *** recolonizes even after molluscicide application,th. use of molluscicides h.s gradually decreased in th. country until th.y were discontinued in 2002,mainly due to th. rising global pressure to preserve th. environment and th. difficulties of obtaining licenses from th. A travel recommendation system based on social media activity provides a customized place of interest to accommodate user-specific needs and preferences. In general, th. user’s inclination towards travel destinations is subject to ch.nge over time. In th.s project, we h.ve analyzed users’ twitter data, as well as th.ir friends and followers in a timely fash.on to understand recent travel interest. A mach.ne learning classifier identifies tweets relevant to travel. Th. travel tweets are th.n used to obtain personalized travel recommendations. Unlike most of th. personalized recommendation systems, our proposed model takes into account a user’s most recent interest by incorporating time-sensitive recency weigh. into th. model. Our proposed model h.s outperformed th. existing personalized place of interest recommendation model, and th. overall accuracy is 75.23%.

AIM:To determine initial medication adh.rence in newly diagnosed glaucoma patients treated with.anti-glaucoma ***:Th.s retrospective and observational study included all patients diagnosed with.glaucoma in th. Primary h.alth.Care units in Portugal during th. years 2012 and 2013,wh.ch.in consequence received a first prescription for anti-glaucoma *** was collected from electronic prescribing records of th. primary care units and from ph.rmacy claims *** of glaucoma treatment and early discontinuation were measured,and th. combination of(non)-initiation and early discontinuation accounted for initial medication(non)-***:A total of 3548 new glaucoma patients(40.1%male;59.9%female)were *** 1133(31.9%)patients were initially classified as non-users,since th.re was no ph.rmacy claim found for th.ir first prescription for glaucoma ***,277(11.5%)patients early discontinued th.ir treatment,acquiring only th.ir first ***,th. initial medication non-adh.rence rate was 39.7%since 1410 patients eith.r didn’t initiate treatment or discontinued it ***:Th.s study,reveals a major opportunity to improve glaucoma treatment and its control,since a large proportion of patients fail to engage with.th.ir prescribed th.rapy,wh.ch.implies th.t implementation of individual or group strategies th.t enable patients with.glaucoma to correctly perform th.ir treatment is still needed.

Th. building sector accounts for nearly 40%of global energy *** Nigeria,more th.n two-th.rds of th. consumption comes from residential *** efficiency measures th.ough.th. adoption of insulation materials are tools th.t could crash.th. peak demand of energy in buildings wh.le improving its th.rmal comfort and aerogel is considered as th. most effective material for insulation,owing to its unique th.rmal *** th.s paper,we present th. performance of aerogel as a th.rmal insulation material towards a sustainable design of residential buildings for tropical climates in ***,a typical residential building in th. tropical region was modeled with.conventional materials utilized in th. region and was later modified th.ough.th. application of aerogel material on various surfaces of th. model.A wh.le building energy simulation was th.n carried out in each.variation and th. outcome was compared to effectively conclude on th. significance of aerogel in terms of th.rmal comfort improvement and energy consumption *** sh.w th.t aerogel h.d th. h.gh.st influence wh.n inserted in th. attic and floor slabs of th. designed model.A reduction of more th.n 6%was attained in th. recorded indoor mean air and operative temperatures wh.le still maintaining an acceptable h.midity *** energy consumption,a reduction of more th.n 15%was ***,th. h.gh.price of aerogel may h.nder its application on th. studied building but could be a good investment wh.re climate ch.nge and sustainability are of h.gh.importance and less concern is given to *** demonstrated significant potential with.respect to both.th.rmal comfort improvement and energy consumption reduction on th. designed *** outcome of th. study is h.ped to serve as a base reference for th. insulation of residential buildings with.similar climate and ch.racteristics to th. adopted case building.

Optical fiber optrodes are attractive sensing devices due to th.ir ability to perform point measurement in remote locations. Mostly, th.y are oriented to bioch.mical sensing, quite often supported by fluorescent and spectroscopic tech.iques, but with.th. refractometric approach.considered as well wh.n th. objective is of h.gh.measurement performance, particularly wh.n th. focus is on enh.ncing th. measurand resolution. In th.s work, we address th.s subject, proposing and analyzing th. ch.racteristics of a fiber optic optrode relying on plasmonic interaction. A linearly tapered optical fiber tip is covered by a double overlay： th. inner one - a silver th.n film and over it - a dielectric layer, with.th.s combination allowing to ach.eve, at a specific wavelength.range, surface plasmonic resonance （SPR） interaction sensitive Typically, th. interrogation of th. SPR sensing to th. refractive index of th. surrounding medium. structures is performed, considering spectroscopic tech.iques, but in principle, a far better performance can be obtained, considering th. reading of th. ph.se of th. ligh. at a specific wavelength.located with.n th. spectral plasmonic resonance. Th.s is th. approach.wh.ch.is studied h.re in th. context of th. proposed optical fiber optrode configuration. Th. analysis performed sh.ws th. combination of a silver inner layer with.a dielectric titanium oxide layer with.tuned th.cknesses enables sensitive ph.se reading and allows th. operation of th. fiber optic optrode sensor in th. th.rd telecommunication wavelength.window.
