Th. building cross-section sh.pe significantly affects th. flow ch.racteristics around buildings,especially th. recirculation region beh.nd th. h.gh.rise *** generic building sh.pes including square,triangle,octagon,T-sh.ped,cross-sh.ped,#-sh.ped,h.sh.ped and L-sh.ped are examined to elucidate th.ir effects on th. flow patterns,recirculation length.L and areas A using computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulations with.Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)*** sizes and positions of th. vortexes beh.nd th. buildings are found to be substantially affected by th. building sh.pes and subsequently ch.nging th. recirculation *** recirculation length.L is in th. range of 1.6b-2.6b with.an average of *** maximum L is found for L-sh.ped building(2.6b)wh.le th. sh.rtest beh.nd octagon building(1.6b).Th. vertical recirculation area Av is in th. range of 1.5b^(2)-3.2b^(2)and h.rizontal area Ah.in 0.9b^(2)-2.2b^(2).Th. L,Av and Ah.generally increase with.increasing approach.ng frontal area wh.n th. wind direction ch.nges but subject to th. dent structures of th.#-sh.ped and cross-sh.ped *** area-averaged wind velocity ratio(AVR),wh.ch.is proposed to assess th. ventilation performance,is in th. range of 0.05 and 0.14,wh.ch.is around a th.ee-fold difference among th. different building *** drag coefficient parameterized by Ah.varies significantly,suggesting th.t previous models with.ut accounting for building sh.pe effect could result in large uncertainty in th. drag *** findings provide important reference for improving pedestrian wind environment and sh.d some ligh. on refining th. urban canopy parameterization by considering th. building sh.pe effect.

Giant magnetocaloric effect(MCE)materials in th. liquid h.lium temperature region h.ve attracted a lot of attention in th. field of low-temperature magnetic refrigeration(MR).In th.s study,a series of niobium(Nb)and iron(Fe)co-substituted EuTiO_(3) perovskites with.cubic structure(space group pm3m)was successfully fabricated,and th.ir magnetic properties as well as cryogenic magnetocaloric effects were investigated in *** expected,th. introduction of Nb and Fe can significantly modulate th. magnetic ph.se transition and magnetocaloric effect of th. EuTiO_(3) *** increasing Fe concentration,two local minima corresponding to th. AFM-FM magnetic ph.se transition near 5.0 K and FM-PM transition near 10 K with.no h.steresis in th. th.rmomagnetic curves are observed,wh.ch.is attributed to an enh.ncement of FM *** th. same time,th. gradually widened-ΔSM-T curves and th. two peaks with.a broad sh.ulder lead to considerable refrigeration capacity(RC).With.th. field ch.nge ofΔh.2 T,th. calculated values of-ΔS_(M)^(max) for th. EuTi_(0.9375-x)Nb_(0.0625)Fe_(x)O_(3)(x=0.075,0.1,0.125,0.15)compounds are 24.2,17.6,14.5 and 14.0 J/(kg·K),*** corresponding RC values were calculated to be 144.6,138.3,151.2 and 159 J/kg,***,th. values of-ΔS_(M)^(max) for EuTi_(0.8625)Nb_(0.0625)Fe_(0.075)O_(3) are 8.6 and 15.1 J/(kg·K)under low field ch.nges of 0.5 and 1 T,*** giant low-field reversible magnetocaloric effect makes th.m attractive candidates for magnetic refrigeration in th. liquid h.lium temperature region.

We synth.sized a potassium gadolinium ph.sph.te K3Gd(PO_(4))_(2)with.monoclinic structure(P2_(1/m))by th. h.gh.temperature solid-state reaction *** lattice constants obtained by Rietveld refinements of XRD curve are a=0.7411 nm,b=0.5624 nm,and c=0.9433 *** and magnetocaloric properties of K_(3)Gd(PO_(4))_(2)were investigated in *** magnetic ph.se transition temperature of K3Gd(PO_(4))2 was determined by ultra-low temperature testing to be 0.58 K.K_(3)Gd(PO_(4))2 exh.bits large magnetic entropy ch.nges(-ΔSM).Th. maximum-ΔSM are 20.2 and 29.4 J/(kg·K)in th. magnetic field variation(Δh.of 1 and 2 T,respectively,wh.ch.are larger th.n th.t of th. commercial Gd_(3)Ga_(5)O_(12)(GGG).Th. maximum adiabatic temperature ch.nge(ΔT_(ad))reach.s 5.91 K under a magnetic field ch.nge(Δh.of 1 T.K_(3)Gd(PO_(4))_(2)is a potential magnetic refrigeration material for obtaining sub-Kelvin temperatures.

Designing h.gh.performance and low-cost electrocatalysts for oxygen evolu-tion reaction(OER)is critical for th. conversion and storage of sustainable energy *** by th. biomineralization process,we utilized th. ph.sph.rylation sites of collagen molecules to combine with.cobalt-based mononuclear precursors at th. molecular level and built a th.ee-dimensional(3D)porous h.erarch.cal material th.ough.a bottom-up biomimetic self-assembly strategy to obtain single-atom catalysts confined on carbonized biomimetic self-assembled carriers(Co SACs/cBSC)after subsequent h.gh.temperature *** th.s strategy,th. biomolecule improved th. anch.ring efficiency of th. metal precursor th.ough.precise functional groups;meanwh.le,th. binding-th.n-assembling strategy also effectively suppressed th. nonspecific adsorption of metal ions,ultimately preventing atomic agglomeration and ach.eving strong electronic metal-support interactions(EMSIs).Experimental ch.racterizations confirm th.t binding forms between cobalt metal and carbonized self-assembled substrate(Co–O_(4)–P).Th.oretical calculations disclose th.t th. local environment ch.nges significantly tailored th. Co d-band center,and optimized th. binding energy of oxygenated intermediates and th. energy barrier of oxygen *** a result,th. obtained Co SACs/cBSC catalyst can ach.eve remarkable OER activity and 24 h.durability in 1 M KOh.η10 at 288 mV;Tafel slope of 44 mV dec-1),better th.n oth.r transition metal-based catalysts and commercial IrO_(2).Overall,we presented a self-assembly strategy to prepare transition metal SACs with.strong EMSIs,providing a new avenue for th. preparation of efficient catalysts with.fine atomic structures.

Kaapvaal lamproites(aka orangeites)are a group of volatile-rich.h.(2)O,CO_(2)),micaceous,ultrapotassic igneous rocks th.t are unique to th. Kaapvaal craton in south.rn ***,th. composition of th. melts th.t give rise to th.se rocks remains poorly understood due to overprinting effects of contamination by mantle and crustal material,volatile exsolution,fractional crystallisation and post-magmatic ***,th.s lack of reliable data on th. initial composition of th. Kaapvaal lamproite melts h.mpers our understanding of th.ir source,petrogenesis and ascent *** is a common mineral comprising th. Kaapvaal lamproites th.t h.s both.xenocrystic(i.e.,mantle)and magmatic *** inclusions(melt/fluid)entrapped with.n olivine h.ve been consistently demonstrated as an effective tool for gaining fundamental insigh.s into th. composition and evolution of melts th.t produce both.kimberlites and lamproites,prior to processes,such.as eruption,devolatization and syn-/post-magmatic *** th.s study,multiph.se inclusions of both.secondary and pseudosecondary origin h.sted in olivine from a Kaapvaal lamproite(Silvery h.me,South.Africa)provide novel insigh.s into th. composition of th. melt(s)th.t initially transported olivine to th. surface and th.n crystallised after emplacement to form th. lamproite *** inclusions in our study contain daugh.er mineral assemblages consisting of diverse Ca-Mg carbonates,including K-,Na-,Ba-,and Sr-bearing varieties,moderate K-rich.silicates(ph.ogopite,tetraferriph.ogopite),and subordinate oxides,ph.sph.tes,sulph.des,sulph.tes,and *** on th.se daugh.er mineral assemblages,we suggest th.t th. composition of th. melt entrapped by olivine was SiO_(2)-poor,Ca-Mg carbonate-rich.and contained elevated concentrations of K,Na,Ba,Sr,P and *** mineral and reconstructed melt compositions are in stark contrast to th. mineral association of th. groundmass and th. bulk-rock composition

In perovskite EuTiO_(3),th. magnetic ch.racteristics and magnetocaloric effect(MCE) can be flexibly regulated by converting th. magnetism from antiferromagnetic to *** th. present work,a series of Eu(Ti,Nb,Mn)O_(3) compounds,abbreviated as ETNmo for convenience of description,was fabricated and th.ir crystallograph.,magnetism togeth.r with.cryogenic magnetocaloric effects were systematically *** crystallograph.c results demonstrate th. cubic perovskite structure for all th. compounds,with.th. space group of *** magnetic ph.se transitions are observed in th.se second-order ph.se transition(SOPT) *** joint substitution of elements Mn and Nb can considerably manipulate th. magnetic ph.se transition process and magnetocaloric performance of th. ETNmo *** th. Mn content increases,gradually widened-ΔS_(M)-T curves are obtained,and two peaks with.a broad sh.ulder are observed in th.-ΔS_(M)-T curves for Δμ_(0)h.0-1 *** a field ch.nge of 0-5 T,th. values of maximum magnetic entropy ch.nge(-ΔS_(M)^(max)) and refrigeration capacity(RC) are evaluated to be 34.7 J/(kg·K) and 364.9 J/kg for EuTi_(0.8625)Nb_(0.0625)Mn_(0.075)O_(3), 27.8 J/(kg·K) and367.6 J/kg for EuTi_(0.8375)Nb_(0.0625)Mn_(0.1)O_(3),23.2 J/(kg·K) and 369.2 J/kg for EuTi_(0.8125)Nb_(0.0625)Mn_(0.125)O_(3),17.1 J/(kg·K) and 357.6 J/kg for EuTi_(0.7875)Nb_(0.0625)Mn_(0.15)O_(3),*** co nsiderable MCE parameters make th. ETNmo compounds potential candidates for cryogenic magnetic refrigeration.

Th. pore structure of sph.rical alumina supports is closely related to th. dispersion of catalytically active components and th. diffusion of *** excellent pore structure under strict reaction conditions is of utmost *** th.s work,sph.ricalγ-Al_(2)O_(3)support with.a bimodal pore structure,composed of macropores and mesopores,was successfully synth.sized using dodecane as th. pore-forming agent th.ough.th. oil–ammonia column-sh.ping *** morph.logy and internal pore structure of th. alumina were found to be influenced by th. amount of surfactant added and ultrasound treatment ***,wh.n concentration of surfactant was 4‰and ultrasound voltage of 20 V was applied,th. resultingγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-4‰-20 displayed a h.gh.y concentrated distribution of macropores with.an average pore size of 100 nm,resulting in an impressive porosity of 69.21%.In contrast,th. untreated sample ofγ-Al_(2)O_(3)-0-0 only exh.bited a mesoporous distribution with.a porosity of 54.03%.moreover,after being subjected to a h.droth.rmal treatment in a h.gh.temperature(600°C)and h.gh.h.midity(water vapor)environment for 120 h.th.γ-Al_(2)O_(3)-4‰-20 sample maintained a h.gh.BET specific surface area of 170.9 m^(2)g^(−1)and mercury intrusion porosimetry specific surface area of 263.3 m^(2)g^(−1).
