The redshift distribution of BL Lacs and FSRQs

Flat spectrum radio quasars(FSRQs) and BL Lacertae objects(BL Lacs) are powerful jet producing active galactic nuclei associated with supermassive black holes accreting at high and low Eddington rates, respectively. Based on the Millennium Simulation, Gardner & Done have predicted their redshift distribution by appealing to ideas from the spin paradigm in a way that exposes a need for a deeper discussion on three interrelated issues:(1) an overprediction of BL Lacs compared to FSRQs;(2) a difference in FSRQ and BL Lac distributions;(3) a need for powerful but different jets at separated cosmic times. Beginning with Gardner & Done's determination of Fermi observable FSRQs based on the distribution of thermal accretion across cosmic time from the Millennium Simulation, we connect FSRQs to BL Lacs by way of the gap paradigm for black hole accretion and jet formation to address the above issues in a unified way. We identify a physical constraint in the paradigm for the numbers of BL Lacs that naturally leads to separate peaks in time for different albeit powerful jets. In addition, we both identify as puzzling and ascribe physical significance to a tail end in the BL Lac curve versus redshift that is unseen in the redshift distribution for FSRQs.

AIM: To investigate the prevalence, risk factors, and selection of the study population for cholecystolithiasis in an urban population in Germany, in relation to our own findings and to the results in the international ***: A total of 2 147 persons (1 111 females,age 42.8±12.7 years; 1 036 males, age 42.3±13.1 years)participating in an investigation on the prevalence of Echinococcus multilocularis were studied for risk factors and prevalence of gallbladder stone *** factors were assessed by means of a standardized interview and calculation of body mass index (BMI). A diagnostic ultrasound examination of the gallbladder was performed. Data were analyzed by multiple logistic regression, using the SAS statistical software ***: Gallbladder stones were detected in 171study participants (8.0%, n = 2 147). Risk factors for the development of gallbladder stone disease included age, sex, BMI, and positive family history. In a separate analysis of female study participants, pregnancy (yes/no)and number of pregnancies did not exert any ***: Findings of the present study confirm that age, female sex, BMI, and positive family history are risk factors for the development of gallbladder stone disease. Pregnancy and the number of pregnancies,however, could not be shown to be risk factors. There seem to be no differences in the respective prevalence for gallbladder stone disease in urban and rural populations.

Traumatic brain injury(TBI),which leads to disability,dysfunction,and even death,is a prominent health problem worldwide with no effective treatment.A brain-permeable flavonoid named(-)-epicatechin(EC)modulates redox/oxidative stress and has been shown to be beneficial for vascular and cognitive function in humans and for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke in *** we examined whether EC is able to protect the brain against TBI-induced brain injury in mice and if so,whether it exerts neuroprotection by modulating the NF-E2-related factor(Nrf2)*** used the controlled cortical impact model to mimic *** was administered orally at 3 h after TBI and then every 24 h for either 3 or 7 *** evaluated lesion volume,brain edema,white matter injury,neurologic deficits,cognitive performance and emotion-like behaviors,neutrophil infiltration,reactive oxygen species(RoS),and a variety of injury-related ***2 knockout mice were used to determine the role of the Nrf2 signaling pathway after EC *** wild-type mice,EC significantly reduced lesion volume,edema,and cell death and improved neurologic function on days 3 and 28;cognitive performance and depression-like behaviors were also improved with EC *** addition,EC reduced white matter injury,heme oxygenase-l expression,and ferric iron deposition after *** changes were accompanied by attenuation of neutrophil infiltration and oxidative insults,reduced activity of matrix metalloproteinase 9,decreased Keap 1 expression,increased Nrf2 nuclear accumulation,and increased expression of superoxide dismutase 1 and quinone ***,EC did not significantly reduce lesion volume or improve neurologic deficits in Nrf2 knockout mice after *** results show that EC protects the TBI brain by activating the Nrf2 pathway,inhibiting heme oxygenase-1 protein expression,and reducing iron *** latter two effects could represent an Nrf2-independent mechanism in this model of TBI.

目的建立基于证据的新生儿经外周中心静脉导管(PICC)维护流程,提高PICC规范化维护操作的依从性,降低导管相关性血流感染的发生。方法采用JBI(Joanna Briggs Institute)临床证据系统,根据9项最佳实践建议对新生儿PICC临床维护操作进行基线审查,实施有针对性的策略并进行后期观察。比较2017年8月-2018年7月项目实施前及2018年8月-2019年7月项目实施后导管相关性血流感染的发生率。结果策略实施后依从性较实施前有了显著提升,差异有统计学意义(P<0.01)。血流感染发生率,实施后为0.085%,较实施前0.268%有了显著下降,差异有统计学意义(P<0.01)。结论最佳实践的应用提高了护理人员导管相关性血流感染的预防知识和PICC规范化操作的依从性,降低了导管相关性血流感染的发生率。

目的将与维持性血液透析患者液体摄入依从性管理有关的最佳证据应用于临床护理实践，提高血液透析患者液体摄入控制依从性。方法将JBI临床证据实践应用系统和临床转化系统作为审查工具，基于现有的血液透析患者液体摄入依从性管理的最佳证据，制定5条审查标准。对20名护士、30例患者实施基线审查和证据应用后第2轮审查。结果基线审查时4条标准执行率较差（0～55．0％），第2轮审查时，第3条审查标准（患者自我监测液体摄入）执行率73．3％，其余4条审查标准执行率均100％。护士液体摄入管理知识和技能得分从12．70提高到14．60（P〈0．01）；血液透析患者液体摄入知识和技能得分从11．13分提高到13．47分（P〈0．01），其液体摄入控制不依从率从53．33％降低至23．33％（P〈0．05）。结论基于循证的质量审查改善维持性血液透析患者液体摄入依从性管理的临床护理实践，可提高患者液体摄入控制依从性。
