Near-infrared leaf reflectance modeling of Annona emarginata seedlings for early detection of variations in nitrogen concentration

Nitrogen(N)monitoring is essential in nurseries to ensure the production of high-quality *** spectroscopy(NIRS)is an instantaneous,nondestructive method to monitor *** data such as NIRS can also provide the basis for developing a new vegetation spectral index(VSI).Here,we evaluated whether NIRS combined with statistical modeling can accurately detect early variations in N concentration in leaves of young plants of Annona emargiaata and developed a new VSI for this *** were grown in a hydroponics system with 0,2.75,5.5or 11 mM N for 45 *** we measured gas exchange,chlorophylla fluorescence,and pigments in leaves;analyzed complete leaf nutrients,and recorded spectral data for leaves at 966 to 1685 nm using *** a statistical learning approach,the dimensionality of the spectral data was reduced,then models were generated using two classes(N deficiency,N)or four classes(0,2.75,5.5,11 mM N).The best combination of techniques for dimensionality reduction and classification,respectively,was stepwise regression(PROC STEPDISC)and linear discriminant *** was possible to detect N deficiency in seedlings leaves with 100%precision,and the four N concentrations with93.55%accuracy before photosynthetic damage to the plant ***,NIRS combined with statistical modeling of multidimensional data is effective for detecting N variations in seedlings leaves of ***.

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis,has a not yet completely defined aetiology and is characterized by a progressive chronic inflammation that involves nitroxidative stress and *** manifestations can occur and affect several organs,including the liver and bile ducts,joints,skin,eyes,and less frequently,the heart,brain,and kidneys,increasing the risk of morbidity and *** repercussions may be associated with the activity or severity of *** present review proposes to report and analyse the participation of dysbiosis and nitroxidative stress in the genesis of extraintestinal manifestations,aiming to contribute to a better understanding of the disease and to focus on the development of individualized preventive and therapeutic strategies.

Bedrock control on the Assu Incised Valley morphology and sedimentation in the Brazilian Equatorial Shelf

The Assu Incised Valley(AIV) is a new example of an incised-valley system located on the Brazilian Equatorial continental *** valley extends over 40 km from the present-day shoreline to the shelf break,in a passive margin setting,on a shallow(70 m),narrow(43 km) and flat(?1) shelf,with mixed carbonate-siliciclastic sedimentation and a low terrigenous sediment *** investigate the morphology of the incised valley and the surrounding shelf area,we analyzed LandSat images and bathymetric,shallow seismic and sedimentological *** results indicate that the AIV is a coastal-plain incised *** incision was mainly forced by the magnitude of the last fall in sea level,which created the specific geometry of valley,atypically widening landward due to lithological and structural *** AIV is a broad N-S-trending valley with a negative relief of approximately 12 m below the mean shelf topography and low-angle valley walls(3°),surrounded by a highly planar *** valley is asymmetric in cross-section and subdivided into three segments along the shelf:the landward segment is wide(up to 8 km),shallow(marine canyon(3 km).The three valleysegments are bounded by transfer faults of W-E *** addition,the accommodation-space response to the last deglacial sea-level rise provided a 30 m thick sedimentary fill above a Pleistocene/Holocene regional unconformity and a morphologically controlled stratigraphic *** antecedent valley topography controls the sedimentation and hydrodynamics of the modern ***,the morphology of the AIV is a key example of the control of the bedrock on valley incision and infill respon

Assessment of LLLT systemic effects on thyroid hormones function after dental titanium implant installation:An experimental rabbit model

This study aimed to assess the systemic effect of LLLT on thyroid gland functioning and consequently on calcium regulation through Triiodothyronine (T3) and Thyroxine (T4) measurements in rabbits’ serum. A total of thirty two New Zealand male rabbits were randomly distributed in four groups with eight animals each: control group C (nonirradiated animals), group EI (5 J/cm2 per session), group EII (10 J/cm2 per session) and group EIII (20 J/cm2 per session). All animals underwent lower left incisor extraction followed by immediate insertion of an osseintegrated implant, providing an equality of initial clinical condition between the groups. The experimental groups were irradiated with aluminium gallium arsenide diode laser (GaAlAs, λ = 830 nm, 50 mW, CW), during 13 days at each 48 hours, totalizing 7 sessions. Laboratorial T3 and T4 measurements were done in four distinct moments (before surgical procedure, immediately after surgical procedure, after the first LLLT session and after the last LLLT session) in all animals. The results obtained showed statistically significant differences in Triiodothyronine values between the groups throughout the experiment. It was concluded that the LLLT, in the protocol of irradiation used in this study, promoted a significantly alteration on rabbits’ serum hormonal levels.

Among the several types of inorganic nanoparticles available,silica nanoparticles(SNP)have earned their relevance in biological applications namely,as bioimaging *** fact,uorescent SNP(FSNP)have been explored in this-eld as protective nanocarriers,overcoming some limitations presented by conventional organic dyes such as high photobleaching rates.A crucial aspect on the use of uorescent SNP relates to their surface properties,since it determines the extent of interaction between nanoparticles and biological systems,namely in terms of colloidal stability in water,cellular recognition and internalization,tracking,biodistribution and speci-city,among ***,it is imperative to understand the mechanisms underlying the interaction between biosystems and the SNP surfaces,making surface functionalization a relevant step in order to take full advantage of particle *** versatility of the surface chemistry on silica platforms,together with the intrinsic hydrophilicity and biocompatibility,make these systems suitable for bioimaging applications,such as those mentioned in this review.

Study of Factors That Influence the Sustainability of Agricultural Development in the Bobonaro Municipality, Timor-Leste

The aim of the study is to assess the factors that influence the sustainability of agricultural development. The study was carried out in the municipality of Bobonaro for about four months, from July to October 2021. Slovin’s method was used to determine the sample size, with a desired percentage of 10% of the total population. Thus, 154 producers were interviewed as respondents and key persons in the area of agriculture. The variables interviewed are the main factors of agricultural productivity and the factors that affect sustainable agricultural development. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis of the data showed that about 94.87% of the respondents’ productive area is in operation, with an average of 1.84 ha per respondent and the abandoned area around 0.11 ha per respondent. The average value of rice production is 2.38 ton per ha and corn 1.07 ton per ha. About 87% of producers raised the main types of animals such as cattle, pigs, goats with an average density of 2 to 5 animals per establishment. About 61% of producers have access to the market at a normal price for agricultural products. The factors that hinder less successful agricultural development, such as: those of nature with the greatest impact are climate changes, which influence changes in cultivation sessions and in the characteristics of productive soils, availability of water for irrigation and animal feed. On the socioeconomic side, it includes the willingness or interest of young people who want to work as farmers, less investment and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is concluded that natural and socioeconomic impacts can reduce agricultural productivity, so that this will be a major challenge for the development of the agricultural sector in the future.

We use the excellent sediment recovery of International Ocean Discovery Program(IODP)Exp.363,in the Western Pacific Warm Pool(WPWP)to assess down-core variations in the abundance of warm versus cool benthic foraminiferal species through a warm benthic foraminifers(WBF)*** total percentage of the“warm”shallower species group(Laticarinina pauperata,Cibicidoides kullenbergi,***,Cibicidoides sp.,Hoeglundina elegans,and Bulimina aculeata)and of the“cool”species group from deep waters(Pyrgo murrhina,Planulina wuellerstorfi,Uvigerina peregrina,and Globobulimina hoeglundi,Hopkinsina pacifica)at all sites is used to assess paleo temporal and spatial variations in preservation and marine *** study sites span water depths ranging from 875 m to 3421 m and our results indicate that well-preserved living and fossil foraminifera characterize mudline and core sediments at all water depths attesting the wide environmental tolerance of these species to temperature and *** magneto-and biostratigraphy datum,these sediments are of Oligocene *** low-resolution study showed that with the exception of core 1486B which the linear tendency of warmer species is toward cool sediments in old times,all of them show that older sediments indicate warmer periods than today,which is expected from Miocene to *** results provide evidence for the preservation potential of deeply buried sediments,which has implications on climate reconstructions based on the population dynamics of calcareous benthic foraminifera.

The Meconial Aspiration Syndrome (MAS) is a complication caused by the presence of meconium amniotic fluid with consequent aspiration, being responsible for important rates of perinatal morbidity and mortality. This study aims to analyze the bibliographical production on newborn care with meconium elimination in the delivery room. It was a literature integrative review electronically based. Most of the studies referred to tracheal intubation and exogenous surfactant ministration as main care methods. The Meconium Aspiration Syndrome is presented as main theme. It is understood that health care professionals must develop knowledge, skills and actions, showing conduct based on scientific, critical and reflexive knowledge with purposeful interventions directed to the patient’s needs.

目的:研究频域光学相干断层成像(spectral domain optical coherence tomography,SD-OCT)定量和定性检测指标在接受玻璃体腔内注射贝伐单抗的年龄相关性黄斑变性(agerelated macular degeneration,AMD)患者人群中的变化,以评估这些指标是否可以用于预测治疗后视力情况。方法:回顾性分析66眼61例未进行过AMD相关治疗的患者接受至少3mo玻璃体腔内注射贝伐单抗治疗的情况。治疗前后SD-OCT定量检测指标[中央视网膜厚度(central foveal thickness,CFT),外界膜(external limiting membrane,ELM)和椭圆区(ellipsoid zone,EZ)长度]和定性检测指标进行分析和比较。同时,分析这些指标和治疗前后的视力的相关性。结果:平均视力(Log mar)、CFT、ELM和EZ长度治疗前为0.62±0.41、419.3±110.0μm、378.2±377.2μm和156.4±253.7μm,治疗后为0.53±0.44、325.8±117.9μm、547.1±421.5μm和173.1±207.1μm。治疗前视力和CFT(rs=0.27)、ELM长度(rs=-0.30)及ELM断裂(rs=0.43)有相关性。治疗后视力同样和治疗后ELM长度相关(rs=-0.40)。治疗后视力和治疗前视力(rs=0.66)、ELM长度(rs=-0.35)和ELM断裂(rs=0.46)相关。结论:研究显示:治疗前视力、ELM长度和ELM断裂可以用于预测治疗后视力。

Objective: To analyze the evidence in the evolution of scientific production on the factors associated with curative practices of the umbilical stump. Materials and Methods: The study data collection took place in April 2017. The electronic databases used to search the articles were: PubMed (National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health) and VHL (Virtual Health Library). We used the keywords “perinatal care”, “umbilical cord”, “patient care team”, “neonatology”, “newborn”, in the Portuguese, English and Spanish languages, accompanied by the expression AND and selected through DeCS (Descriptors in Health Sciences). Results: A final sample of 9 articles was obtained from the PubMed and VHL databases, which met the inclusions criteria. It has been found that traditional umbilical stump care practices are still present in many communities, however, have been replaced by appropriate practices, the most recommended being: chlorhexidine 4% sanitation, soap and water and alcohol antisepsis 70%. Conclusions: There is a need for multi-professional involvement, approaching these women since pregnancy, with detailed information and accessible language about proper care with the newborn and the umbilical stump.
