Objective:To explore and ide.tify the most potent antihyperglycemic fraction from the ethanol extract of Rhodode.dron arboreum(***)***:Normal and streptozotocin induced diabetic rats were treated with all four fractions of *** flowers for short term and with fraction 3 for long term *** completion of the treatment,a range of indicators were tested including fasting blood glucose,plasma protein,haemoglobin A1C,insulin secretion,body weight,blood lipid profile and carbohydrate metabolism regulating enzymes of ***:In short term study,the fraction 3(Active fraction)produced a significant(Pvel at a dose of 200 mg/kg after the treatment in the diabetic *** of active fraction(200 and 400 mg/kg)once daily for 30 d in streptozotocin diabetic rats resulted in a significant(Pvel,hemoglobin A1C,serum urea and creatinine with significant but a increase in insulin level similar to standard drug ***,the active fraction showed antihyperlipide.ic activity as evide.ced by significant(Pde.reases in serum serum total cholesterol,triglyceride.,low de.sity lipoprotein cholesterol and very low de.sity cholesterol levels coupled together with elevation of high de.sity lipoprotein cholesterol in the diabetic ***:The active fraction of *** flowers de.reases streptozotocin induced hyperglycemia by promoting insulin secretion and glycolysis and by de.reasing gluconeogenesis.

Bioethics falls within the controversial ethical issues from the new advances and emerging technology in pre-clinical and clinical settings which inspired medical policy and practice. The purpose of this paper is to present an overview of ethical issues in stem cell-based therapies and to provide.substantial argument for the need of a Bioethics Research Consortium that will be tasked with convening a disciplined board of experts that will apply their principles to biomedical research, and emerging technology to further stipulate the socioeconomic influence of such entities and their therapeutic impact to society. Not too long ago, the successful therapeutic studies in Parkinson’s disease and stroke were the highlights of bioethical issues. The precede.t for study selection was based on public feedback, government reception, and scientific analyses de.eloped by these spearhead studies. From all the negative publicity that researchers have been getting before, the whiplash from de.ade. of fear and misunde.standing has hinde.ed the progress of scientific study. There is a huge figurative tug of war between what is making profit and what is neede. to improve the health of afflicted patients worldwide. Poor management of education and funding may have actually hinde.ed potential life changing cures and treatments from coming to fruition. We propose the creation of a Bioethics Research Consortium that would de.ermine how ethical matters are handled with careful conside.ation to public need. The goal is to restructure drug de.elopment policy, and improve upon the ways in which research methods and funds are handled today.

The concept of de.eloping a biosealant in concrete remediation is based on unique microbial metabolic processes.A common soil microorganism,Sporosarcina pasteurii,can induce CaCO_(3) precipitation in the surroundings in response to environmental cues such as high pH and available nutrients and minerals.A new biomolecule,microbial calcite is introduced as a smart nanomaterial for self-healing concrete-its effects on concrete performance were evaluated with regard to surface crack remediation and durability *** crack remediation,*** cells immobilized on porous glass beads,Siran^(TM),were applied to cracks and tested for stiffness and compressive *** durability tests,cement mortar beams prepared with bacteria were subjected to freeze-thaw cycles and examined for mean expansions and weight *** performance of the concrete was significantly enhanced by treatment with microbial calcite in simulated concrete cracks and cement mortar beams.

The system of rice intensification （SRI） is reported to have advantages like lower seed requirement,less pest attack,shorter crop duration,higher water use efficiency and the ability to withstand higher de.ree of moisture stress than traditional method of rice *** this background,SRI was compared with traditional transplanting technique at Indian Agricultural Research Institute,New de.hi,India during two wet seasons （2009-2011）.In the experiment laid out in a factorial randomized block de.ign,two methods of rice cultivation [conventional transplanting （CT） and SRI] and two rice varieties （Pusa Basmati 1 and Pusa 44） were used unde. seven crop nutrition treatments,viz.T 1,120 kg/hm2 N,26.2 kg/hm2 P and 33 kg/hm2 K;T 2,20 t/hm2 farmyard manure （FYM）;T 3,10 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 N;T 4,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 90 kg/hm2 N;T 5,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 N＋ 1.5 kg/hm2 blue green algae （BGA）;T 6,5 t/hm2 FYM＋ 60 kg/hm2 N＋ 1.0 t/hm2 Azolla,and T 7,N 0 P 0 K 0 （control,no NPK application） to study the effect on seed quality,yield and water *** SRI,soil was kept at saturated moisture condition throughout vegetative phase and thin layer of water （2-3 cm） was maintained during the reproductive phase of rice,however,in CT,standing water was maintained in crop growing *** revealed that CT and SRI gave statistically at par grain yield but straw yield was significantly higher in CT as compared to *** quality was superior in SRI as compared to *** nutrient management （INM） resulted in higher plant height with longer leaves than chemical fertilizer alone in both the rice *** yield attributes such as number of effective tillers per hill,panicle length and panicle weight of rice in both the varieties were significantly higher in INM as compared to chemical fertilizer *** yields of both the varieties were the highest in INM followed by the recommende. doses of chemical *** grain yield and its attributes of Pusa 44 were significantly

Two types of uranium mineralization in Gulcheru quartzite:Fracture-controlled in Ambakapalle area and litho-controlled in Tummalapalle area,Cuddapah Basin,Andhra Prade.h,India

The Cuddapah Basin in southern India has a potential for uranium mineralization due to some favorable factors such as its temporal, stratigraphic and tectonic settings. Systematic exploration program conducted by the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research (AMD) within the Cuddapah Basin resulting in the recognition of distinct types of uranium mineralization, viz., strata bound type, fracture/shear-controlled type and tabular type. The Gulcheru Formation which is the lowermost unit of the Cuddapah Basin is dominantly arenitic in nature. During the exploration works, a number of uranium anomalies were ide.tified with dimensions ranging from 1 m to 1.5 km. Gulcheru quartzite hosted uranium mineralization is intermittent and inconsistent in nature. The anomalous outcrops are distributed over a strike length of ca. 60 km between Gandi in the SE and Ambakapallein the NW. Presently, two different types of uranium mineralization are characterized on the basis of field observations, mapping and structural interpretation, petro-mineralogy and geochemistry. Although the host rock is same for both types, the mechanism of uranium enrichment is totally different. The Ambakapalle uranium mineralization is controlled by fault zone and associated hydrothermal activity. Whereas, the Tummalapalle uranium mineralization is litho-controlled in nature influenced by suitable four ‘P’ factors, i.e., provenance, porositypermeability, precipitation and preservation. The geochemical characterization of Gulcheru quartzite suggest a passive margin type of provenance setting. Petro-mineralogically the quartz arenite suggests enough textural as well as mineralogical maturity. Ambakapalle quartzite is slightly strained and de.ormed due to faulting. Analysis of selected samples recorde. 0.01% to 0.048% U3O8 and vation revealed that the anomalies were appeared due to secondary uranium minerals occurring as surficial encrustations, fracture filling an

研究了在施肥总量和NPK比例相同的条件下,不同时期施肥对水稻后期功能叶光合速率以及产量、粒重、结实率、籽粒灌浆速率的影响.结果表明,氮钾分次施肥对水稻产量有明显的影响,施用粒肥能显著地提高杂交水稻的产量,其中以粒肥中配以锌硼肥和BR的处理对产量的提高作用最为显著,比仅施基肥和分蘖肥的处理产量提高达30%.粒肥能延缓功能叶的衰老,使其在水稻生长后期仍维持较高的光合速率、灌浆速率和较长的灌浆时间,提高千粒重和结实率.加强后期的养分管理对杂交稻的影响比常规稻更显著.表明杂交水稻的粒重和结实率不仅受遗传控制,也受养分管理的影响.可以通过加强生育后期的养分管理提高杂交水稻的产量.加强水稻生长发育后期的养分管理还能显著改善稻米品质,如包括Asp、Lys、Ala、Gln等的氨基酸含量,在子实肥中加入锌能够显著地提高稻米中锌含量.

Electrochemical Evaluation of Aminoguanidine Hydrazone de.ivative with Potential Anticancer Activity:Studies of Glassy Carbon/CNT and Gold Electrode. Both Modified with PAMAM

Aminoguanidine hydrazones (AGHs) are a class of compounds that have interesting pharmacological activities. They are de.ived from the same chemical group as aminoguanidine, so it has mixed properties (receptor and donor) in the formation of hydrogen bonds. Its anticancer agent properties were recently highlighted, but the molecules of this class have solubility in aqueous solutions that can be conside.ed low. The ide.tification of this class, by a simple, sensitive and low-cost technique, such as electrochemistry, which also allows the evaluation of its solubilization process through agents such as PAMAM de.drimer is the main objective of the work de.cribed here. The electrochemical response of the LQM10 (AGH de.ivative) was evaluated, as well as its behavior in different electrochemical sensors. Electrochemical experiments were performed in buffered (phosphate at pH 7.02 and acetate at 4.5). LQM10 has a reversible oxidation peak with a potential of +0.22 v. It was efficiently de.ected in different electrode. tested (glass carbon/CNT, glass carbon/CNT/PAMAM), which proves the viability of the electrode. for various analyses and has the de.ermination of the apparent constant association, indicating its interaction with the analysis that is higher in the presence of the PAMAM encapsulating agent. This was corroborated by the results for the modified gold electrode.with MUA and PAMAM. The sum of the results shows the possibility of electrochemically evaluating the Aminoguanidine hydrazone de.ivative, the viability of electrode. employed and the greater solubilization of LQM10 in the presence of the PAMAM de.drimer.
