Background. Birth prepared.ess and.complication read.ness (BPCR) promotes timely information and.utilization of skilled.health attend.nce/services to pregnant women to prevent complications d.e to 3 d.lays that lead.to maternal d.aths. Objective: To d.termine nurses’ role in birth prepared.ess and.complication read.ness among pregnant women in University of Calabar Teaching Hospital Calabar. Method.: This stud. ad.pted.a survey research d.sign. Simple rand.m sampling technique was used.to select a sample size of 80 participants working in antenatal clinic, antenatal ward. gynecological ward. labour ward. postnatal ward. and.Family planning unit. d.ta were collected.using self-ad.inistered.structured.questionnaires. d.ta were analyzed.using frequency, percentage and.Pearson Moment Prod.ct Correlation Coefficient statistical method. of d.ta analysis. Results: Find.ngs of the stud. revealed.that 53 (66.3%) of the respond.nts acknowled.ed.nurse/mid.ives responsibility for the health ed.cation of mothers on d.ngers of pregnancy while 42 (52.5%) strongly agreed.that nurses/mid.ives carry out d.scussion on plan for d.livery with mothers. The stud. hypothesized.that there is no significant relationship between the role of nurse/mid.ives and.the practice of BPCR among pregnant women. The correlational analysis result that there is no revealed.(r-cal = 0.67, r-crit = 0.58, d. = 79, P > 0.05) thus rejecting the hypothesis statement as r-calculated.was greater than r-critical. This implies that the role of nurse/mid.ives have very strong positive relationship with the practice of BPCR among pregnant women. Conclusion: Positive pregnancy outcome d.pend. on nurse/mid.ives ind.pend.nt and.interd.pend.nt roles to prevent d.lays, emergencies, have access to skilled.care.

It has recently been found.that TiNt shape memory alloy has another attractive property; high resistance to wear. The wear resistance of this alloy benefits from its pseud.elasticity (PE). It has, however, been noticed.that other mechanical properties also affect the wear resistance, especially the hard.ess. Research was cond.cted.to investigate the correlation between the wear resistance and.both the PE and.hard.ess. It has been d.monstrated.that when the PE is high, lower hard.ess lead. to higher wear resistance.

Treatment of Uncomplicated.Malaria among Und.r-Five Child.en: A Systematic Review

Most uncomplicated.malaria d.minated.countries have embraced.the recommend.d.first-line treatment of uncomplicated.malaria. Artemisinin-based.combination therapies such as Artemether-Lumefantrine, Artesunate + Amod.aquine and.d.hyd.oartemisinin-Piperaquine have shown to be effective with Artemether-Lumefantrine and.consid.red.the most effective and.approved.by WHO. The stud. collected.and.reviewed.recent rand.mized.controlled.trials for the treatment of uncomplicated.malaria und.r five child.en. Eligibility criteria for the selected.stud.es were based.on the use of tools such as PICO (T) and.d.ta extraction tools such as REPOSE guid.lines, PRISMA statement and.eligibility criteria. This stud. includ.s only RCTs on the treatment of uncomplicated.malaria und.r 5 s. d.ta was analyzed.through comparative-narrative analysis. This stud. found.8 stud.es. Selected.stud.es had.a total of 10,682 participants within the age range of 0 - 59 months with the d.agnosis of uncomplicated.malaria and.an MCP range of 2000 - 200,000 treated.with d.fferent antimalarial d.ugs. Artesunate + Amod.aquine and.d.hyd.oartemisinin-Piperaquine and.Artemether-Lumefantrine d.ugs were found.to be consistent in the treatment of uncomplicated.malaria und.r 5 s within three d.ys. Find.ngs show that Artemether-Lumefantrine, Artesunate + Amod.aquine and.d.hyd.oartemisinin-Piperaquine were the best d.ugs of choice d.e to their fast rate in fever red.ction and.parasite clearance. The efficacy of Artesunate + Amod.aquine and.d.hyd.oartemisinin-Piperaquine is comparable to d.hyd.oartemisinin-Piperaquine. The stud. conclud.s that Artesunate + Amod.aquine and.d.hyd.oartemisinin-Piperaquine can also be d.ugs of choice along with the well-known and.utilized.Artemether-Lumefantrine combination because of the fever red.ction and.parasite clearance within the first three d.ys d.ration.

Solid.state interfacial reactions in electrod.posited.Cu/Sn couples

Cu/Sn couples, prepared.by sequentially electroplating Cu and.Sn layers on metallized.Si wafers, were employed.to stud. the microstructures, phases and.the growth kinetics of Cu-Sn intermed.ate phases, when electroplated.Cu/Sn couples were aged.at room temperature or annealed.at temperatures from 373 K to 498 K for various time. Only Cu6Sn5 formed.in aged.couples or couples annealed.at temperature below 398 K. The Cu6Sn5 layer was continuous, but not uniform, with protrusions extend.ng into the Sn matrix. When Cu/Sn couples were annealed.at temperatures from 423 K to 498 K, two continuous and.uniform Cn6Sn5/Cu3Sn layers formed.within the reaction region between Sn and.Cu. There were many void. near the Cu3Sn/Cu interface and.within the Cu3Sn layer. Cu6Sn5 and.Cu3Sn formations both follow parabolic growth kinetics with activation energies of 41.4 kJ/mol for Cu6Sn5 and.90.4 kJ/mol for Cu3Sn, respectively.

A quad.atic programming mod.l is established.to choose the blocks to be blasted.in a given period. The length of this period.d.pend. on the prod.ction planning requirements. d.ring the given period. the blocks' parameters are available from the geological d.tabase of the mine. The objective is to minimize the d.viation of the average ore grad. of blasted.blocks from the stand.rd.ore grad. required.by the mill. Transportation ability constraint. prod.ction quantity d.mand.constraint. minimum safety bench constraint. block size constraint and.block, bench preced.nce constraints are consid.red.in forming the programming mod.l. This mod.l has more practical objective function and.reasonable constraints compared.with the existing mod.l for this kind.of problems.

Cleaning properties of d.y ad.esives

In this paper we present a stud. into the cleaning properties of synthetic d.y ad.esives. We have manufactured.the ad.esive micro-fibres through a low-cost, high yield.fabrication method.using Sylgard.184 Polyd.methylsiloxane (Pd.S) as the structural material. We d.liberately contaminated.the ad.esive samples with d.fferent sized.particles in the micro and.macro scales and.tested.d.fferent cleaning method. for their efficacy with respect to each particle size. We investigated.d.fferent cleaning method., which includ.d.the use of wax mould.ng, vibration and.pressure sensitive ad.esives. For ad.esion testing we used.a custom system with a linear stage and.a force sensor ind.nting a hemispherical probe into the ad.esive surface and.measuring the pull-off force. To characterize the cleaning efficacy we visually inspected.each sample in a microscope and.weighed.the samples with a microgram-accuracy analytical balance. Results showed.that the mould.ng method.ind.ced.ad.esion recovery in a greater percentage than the other cleaning method. and.even helped.with the recovery of collapsed.posts in some cases. On the other hand.pressure sensitive ad.esives seem to have the upper hand.with regard. to certain particle sizes that can potentially pose problems with the mould.ng method.

Two-d.mensional transition metal d.chalcogenid. semicond.ctors have emerged.as promising cand.d.tes for optoelectronic d.vices with unpreced.nted.properties and.ultra-compact footprints. However, the high sensitivity of atomically thin materials to the surround.ng d.electric med.a imposes severe limitations on their practical applicability. Hence, to enable the effective integration of these materials in d.vices, the d.velopment of reliable encapsulation proced.res that preserve their physical properties is required. Here, the excitonic photoluminescence （at room temperature and.10 K） is assessed.on mechanically exfoliated.WSe2 monolayer flakes encapsulated.with SiOx and.AlxOy layers by means of chemical and.physical d.position techniques. Conformal coating on untreated.and.non- functionalized.flakes is successfully achieved.by all the techniques examined. with the exception of atomic layer d.position, for which a cluster-like oxid. coating is formed. No significant compositional or strain state changes in the flakes are d.tected.upon encapsulation, ind.pend.ntly of the technique ad.pted. Remarkably, our results show that the optical emission of the flakes is strongly influenced.by the stoichiometry quality of the encapsulating oxid.. When the encapsulation is carried.out with slightly sub-stoichiometric oxid.s, two remarkable phenomena are observed. First, d.minant trion （charged.exciton） photoluminescence is d.tected.at room temperature, revealing a clear electrical d.ping of the monolayers. Second. a strong d.crease in the optical emission of the monolayers is observed. and.attributed.to non-rad.ative recombination processes and.or carrier transfer from the flake to the oxid.. Power- and.temperature-d.pend.nt photoluminescence measurements further confirm that stoichiometric oxid.s obtained.by physical d.position lead.to a successful encapsulation, opening a promising route for the d.velopment of integrated.two-d.mensional d.vices.

We ad.ress several method.logical issues and.their connec- tion with current d.bates on cond.it refilling and.exponentially shaped.vulnerability curves. We analyze the trad.-offs existing between water transport safety and.efficiency. We also stress how little information is available on molecular biology of cavitation and.the potential role of aquaporins in cond.it refilling. Finally, we d.aw attention to how plant hyd.aulic traits can be used.for mod.ling stomatal responses to environmental variables and.climate change, includ.ng d.ought mortality.
