Plant-herbivore interactions are among the most important factors shaping plant community dynamics and ecosystem functioning. The latitudinal herbivory hypothesis proposed that insect herbivory rates decline with increasing latitudes owing to benign environmental conditions in the tropics, but studies have produced contradictory conclusions[1–3].

DNA barcoding is a tool to provide rapid and accurate taxonomic identification using a standard DNA region.A two-marker combination of matK+rbcL was formally proposed as the core barcode for land plants by the consortium for the Barcode of Life Plant Working ***,there are currently no barcoding primers for matK showing high universality in *** used 57 gymnosperm species representing 40 genera,11 families and four subclasses to evaluate the universality of nine candidate matK primers and one rbcL primer in this ***(1F/724R) of rbcL is proposed here as a universal primer for gymnosperms due to high *** of the nine candidate matK primers(GymF1A/GymR1A) is proposed as the best "universal" matK primer for gymnosperms because of high polymerase chain reaction success and routine generation of high quality bidirectional sequences.A specific matK primer for Ephedra was newly designed in this study,which performed well on the sampled *** primers proposed here for rbcL and matK can be easily and successfully amplified for most gymnosperms.

ZE20(Mg-2Zn-0.2ce)^2 is a new wrought magnesium alloy with improved extrudability and mechanical properties[1].To understand the constitutive behavior and workability of this new alloy,Gleeble thermomechanical testing has been carried out in this *** flow stress behavior of ZE20 was investigated between 250℃–450℃ and 10^–3 s^–1–1.0 s^–1 in isothermal *** descriptions of the flow stress are provided.A new general approach at application of the extended Ludwik equation is demonstrated and was found to be more accurate than the hyperbolic sine Arrhenius model while having a similar number of model *** maps were developed based on the experimental results and are verified with microstructural investigation.A region of safe processing with non-basal texture and high activity of dynamic recrystallization(DRX)was found between 375℃ and 450℃,from 10^–1 s^–1 to 10^–2.5 s^–1.A region of potentially safe processing with annealing that is associated with shear band nucleation of non-basal grains was identified for temperatures as low as 300℃ and rates as high as 10^–1 s^–1.

Molecules can enter the nucleus by passive diffusion or active transport mechanisms, depending on their size. Small molecules up to size of 50-60 kDa or less than 10 nm in diameter can diffuse passively through the nuclear pore complex （NPc）, while most proteins are transported by energy driven transport mechanisms Active transport of viral proteins is mediated by nuclear localization signals （NLS）, which were first identified in Simian Virus 40 large T antigen and had subsequently been identified in a large number of viral they contain short stretches of lysine or arginine residues. These signals are recognized proteins. Usually by the importin super-family （importin α and β） proteins that mediate the transport across the nuclear envelope through Ran-GTP In contrast, only one class of the leucine-rich nuclear export signal （NES） on viral proteins is known at present. chromosome region maintenance 1 （cRM1） protein mediates nuclear export of hundreds of viral proteins through the recognition of the leucine-rich NES.

Inflammatory bowel disease affects a substantial number of women in their reproductive years. Pregnancy presents a number of challenges for clinicians and patients; the health of the baby needs to be balanced with the need to maintain remission in the mother. Historically, treatments for crohn’s disease (cD) were often discontinued during the pregnancy, or nursing period, due to concerns about teratogenicity. Fortunately, observational data has reported the relative safety of many agents used to treat cD, including 5-aminosalicylic acid, thiopurines, and tumor necrosis factor. Data on the long-term development outcomes of children exposed to these therapies in utero are still limited. It is most important that physicians educate the patient regarding the optimal time to conceive, discuss the possible risks, and together decide on the best management strategy.

AIM To investigate the effect of disease activity or thiopurine use on low birth weight and small for gestational age in women with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).METHODS Selection criteria included all relevant articles on the effect of disease activity or thiopurine use on the risk of low birth weight(LBW) or small for gestational age(SGA) among pregnant women with IBD. Sixtynine abstracts were identified,35 papers were full text reviewed and,only 14 of them met inclusion criteria. Raw data were extracted to generate the relative risk of LBW or SGA. Quality was assessed using the Newcastle Ottawa *** This meta-analysis is reported according to PRISMA guidelines. Fourteen studies met inclusion criteria,and nine reported raw data suitable for meta-analysis. We found an increased risk ratio of both SGA and LBW in women with active IBD,when compared with women in remission: 1.3 for SGA(4 studies,95%cI: 1.0-1.6,P = 0.04) and 2.0 for LBW(4 studies,95%cI: 1.5-2.7,P cy had a higher risk of LBW(RR 1.4,95%cI: 1.1-1.9,P = 0.007) compared with non-treated women,but when adjusted for disease activity there was no significant effect on LBW(RR 1.2,95%cI: 0.6-2.2,P = 0.6). No differences were observed regarding SGA(2 studies; RR 0.9,95%cI: 0.7-1.2,P = 0.5). cONcLUSION Women with active IBD during pregnancy have a higher risk of LBW and SGA in their neonates. This should be considered in treatment decisions during pregnancy.

History and conservation of wild and cultivated plant diversity in Uganda： forest species and banana varieties as case studies

The history of wild and cultivated plant diversity in Uganda is reviewed,taking forest species and bananas as examples. Palynological research into past human influences on forests is reassessed. The evidence suggests that crops were first introduced into the country at about 1,000 BcE,farming communities practicing slash and burn agriculture started to significantly influence the floristic composition of forests during the 1st millennium BcE and there was a major episode of forest reduction at about 1,000 cE related to socio-economic change. Bananas were probably introduced in the early centuries cE. The colonial era from 1894 saw the introduction of new concepts of land ownership and the establishment of forest reserves and agricultural stations. Forests and banana diversity are currently under threat,Uganda having a very high rate of deforestation and endemic banana varieties proving susceptible to introduced pests and diseases. It is suggested that,under these circumstances,conservationists take an opportunistic approach to field engagement,making use of favourable local conditions as they arise. Partnerships should be sought with elements of society concerned with sustainable use,provision of ecosystem services and cultural survival to widen the social base of plant conservation. International organisations involved in conservation of plant genetic resources and wild plant species should collaborate with one another to develop the conceptual basis of plant conservation,to make it more relevant to countries like Uganda.
