Inhibition of nitrification in soil by metal diethyldithiocarbamates

Nitrification acts as a key process in determining fertilizer use efficiency by crops as well as nitrogen losses from soils. Metal dithiocarbamates in addition to their pesticidal properties can also inhibit biological oxidation of ammonium(nitrification) in soil. Metal [M=V(Ⅲ), Cr(Ⅲ), Mn(Ⅱ), Fe(Ⅲ), Ni(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ) and Co(Ⅱ)] diethyldithiocarbamates (DEDTC) were synthesized by the reaction of sodium diethyldithiocarbamate with metal chloride in dichloromethane/water mixture. These metal diethyldithiocarbamates were screened for their ability to inhibit nitrification at different concentrations(10 μg/g soil, 50 μg/g soil and 100 μg/g soil). With increasing concentration of the complex, capacity to retard nitrification increased but the extent of increase varied for different metals. At 100 μg/g soil, different complexes showed nitrification inhibition from 22 36% to 46 45%. Among the diethyldithiocarbamates tested, Zn(DEDTC) 2 proved to be the most effective nitrification inhibitor at 100 μg/g soil. Manganese, iron and chromium diethyldithiocarbamates also proved to be effective nitrification inhibitors than the others at 100 μg/g soil. The order of percent nitrification inhibition in soil by metal diethyldithiocarbamates was: Zn(Ⅱ) > Mn(Ⅱ) > Fe(Ⅲ) > Cr(Ⅲ) >V(Ⅲ) > Co(Ⅱ) > Ni(Ⅱ) > Cu(Ⅱ).

Purpose: Glenoid bone defect and the defect on the posterior-superior surface of the humerus “Hill- Sachs lesion” are the commonly seen bony lesions in patients with recurrent dislocation shoulder. Computed tomography (CT) scan is considered as the best option in assessing the bony defects in the recurrent dislocation shoulder. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical and radiological corelation in the patients with recurrent dislocation shoulder. Methods: Forty-four patients of recurrent dislocation shoulder who were evaluated between January 2015 and December 2017 at a tertiary care center, clinically and radiologically using CT scan and meeting the inclusion criteria, were included. The correlation between the clinical history of the number of dislocations and the bone loss using CT scan was evaluated. Two sided statistical tests were performed at a significance level of α=0.05. The analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS STATISTICS (version 22.0). Results: All the patients were male with mean age of 25.95 (SD ± 4.2) years were evaluated. Twenty-four patients sustained injury in sporting activities while 20 patients sustained injury in training. There were an average of 4.68 (SD ± 3.1, range 2e15, median 3) episodes of dislocation. Forty-one patients had the glenoid bone loss while 40 had the Hill-Sachs lesions. The mean glenoid width defect was 10.80%(range 0e27%) while the mean Hill-Sachs defect was 14.27 mm (range 0e26.6 mm). The mean area of bone loss of the glenoid surface was 10.81%(range 0e22.4%). The lesions were on track in 34 patients and off track in 10 patients. Conclusions: CT scan of the shoulder joint is an effective method for assessing the amount of bone loss. The number of dislocations are correlated significantly with off-track lesions and the amount of bone loss on the glenoid and Hill-Sachs lesion. Environment monitoring has become a necessity because of global warming and climate change. All across the globe researchers are trying to monitor the environmental parameters of temperature, humidity and pollutants gases mere precisely in real time. Sensing system using sensor arrays has been developed to monitor indoor environment, however, these systems are costly and have not gained wide acceptance. Precise monitoring of building environment has a huge potential in terms of energy savings. In this paper, an effort has been made to develop a 4-channel energy efficient and low cost data logger for indoor environment. The Data logger is proposed to be developed with the use of PIC 18F4458. Real Time Clock and EEPROM are interfaced for sampled data with the instance of sampling time and month/date/year;these sampled data will be stored in the EEPROM to the note pad tabular form with the help of graphical user interface (GUI).

The purpose of this paper is to give a refinement of the Atiyah-Singer families index theorem at the level of differential characters. Also a Riemann-Roch-Grothendieck theorem for the direct image of flat vector bundles by proper submersions is proved,with Chern classes with coefficients in C/Q. These results are much related to prior work of Gillet-Soule, Bismut-Lott and Lott.

A class of metric, compact, and totally disconllected spaces, called self-similar Cantor setsis illtroduced. A self-similar structure is defined to be a graph with weighted edges. Theintroduction of ultrametrics and quasi-isometries gives versatility to this construction. Thermodynamical functions as free energy and elltropy are associated with self-similar *** analysis, based on a 'Large Deviations' inequality and Gibbs measures, leads toa fairly general Hausdoffi dimension theorem.

The soil pH of tea garden was acidic (4.6 - 5.3) with organic contents ranging between 0.91% - 1.09%. Available po- tassium concentration was predominantly found in the range of 167 - 208 mg/kg followed by the nitrogen (150 - 189 mg/ha) and phosphorus (42 - 169 mg/kg). The Fe content was the one of the predominant heavy metal in soil (5494 - 5627 mg/kg) followed by Mn (245 - 435 mg/kg), Zn (30 - 111 mg/kg) and Cu (22 - 51 mg/kg). The concentration of toxic heavy metals Pb, Ni, and Cd in tea leaves, made tea and its infusions were too low. The level of most abundant essential heavy metals in tea infusion was Zn ranging from 0.09 - 0.52 mg/kg followed by Mn 0.10 - 0.42 mg/kg. The level of Fe and Cu was ranging from 0.068 - 0.073 mg/kg and 0.007 - 0.04 mg/kg in tea infusion respectively. The levels of all es- sential and the toxic metals were thus obtained were compared well with the other parts of the world.

于1981～1984年,对已经投产的'新堡’(New Castle)杏树布置了田间试验,设8个施氮水平(200、400和600克/树)和四种施用方法(单独土壤施用和附加1～3次尿素喷雾,每树每次喷5升1%的尿素水溶液)。400克氮加两次叶面喷施尿素(第一次喷施在4月的第二周进行,此时叶片已完全张开,第二次在两周后喷施)的处理获得最适营养生长、较大果实和较高产量,并改善了树体氮素状况。
