Effect of high shear homogenization on quality characteristics of bael fruit pulp

Response surface methodology was used to investigate the influence of high shear homogenization speed(A:3000-12000 r/min)and processing time(B:30-120 min)on bael fruit pulp quality *** experimental results were best fitted in the suggested quadratic model to delineate and envision the responses in terms of color(values of L^(*),meaning brightness to blackness,1oo-0;a^(*),meaning green-a^(*)to red+a^(*);and b^(*),meaning blue-b^(*)to yellow+b),total soluble solids,ascorbic acid,viscosity,andβ-carotene content with the highest coefficients of determination(R2)ranging from 0.80 to ***(Pvalue,total soluble solids,ascorbic acid,andβ-carotene content was found with change in homogenization *** interaction effect of homogenization showed a significant difference in a^(*)value and total soluble solid content of the *** best homogenization conditions were determined via multiple response optimization as 10682 r/min speed and 43.18 min process *** quality parameters of the pulp at optimized conditions were observed as L^(*)15.35,a^(*)4.51,b^(*)10.25,ascorbic acid 18.64 mg/100 g,viscosity 5349 cP,andβ-carotene 4.14μg/100 *** addition,total phenolic content,flavonoid content,and antioxidant content of homogenized bael fruit pulp was found to significantly(Pvalent(GAE)/100 mL,(147.39±0.69)to(156.10±1.11)mg quercetin equivalent(QE)/100 mL,and(41.77%±0.60%)to(66.53%±0.41%),***,this strategy could be used in fruit processing industries to process highly fibrous fruits and nonuniform-textured fruit pulptoavoid sedimentation whileretaining functionality.

Analysis on Critical Success Factors for Agile Manufacturing Evaluation in Original Equipment Manufacturing Industry-An AHP Approach

Manufacturing industries are facing challenges in the implementation of agile manufacturing in their products and processes. Agility is widely accepted as a new competitive concept in the manufacturing sector in fulfilling varying customer demand. Thus, evaluation of agile manufacturing in industries has become a necessity. The success of an organisation depends on its ability to manage finding the critical success factors and give them special and continued attention in order to bring about high performance. This paper proposes a set of critical success factors （CSFs） for evaluating agile manufacturing considered appropriate for the manufacturing sector. The analytical hierarchy process （AHP） method is applied for prioritizing the success factors, by summarizing the opinions of experts. It is believed that the proposed CSFs enable and assist manufacturing industries to achieve a higher performance in agile manufacturing so as to increase competitiveness.

Calcitonin receptor-like receptor(CRLR)is a human protein,that produces a calcitonin gene-related peptide receptor(CGRP)when associates with human receptor activity-modifying protein-1(HRAMP1).CGRP is believed to be involved in triggering of *** strategies were employed to design antimigraine drug using various CGRP antagonist/ligands but most of them have failed due to their inability to reach the target“CGRP receptor”as they get metabolized before conferring their pharmacological action and exhibit toxic effect to the *** present study,evaluated the binding of 13 phyto-chemical compounds of“Abrus precatorius”identified through GCMS analysis against the protein CGRP using“Discovery Studio software”.The molecular docking study and ADME/T properties prediction were performed with the compounds using C-DOCKER *** results showed that five lead compounds of *** may act as good inhibitors for migraine headache and the compounds can be re-designed and synthesized for better antimigraine activity.

Surface ozone scenario and air quality in the north-central part of India

Tropospheric pollutants including surface ozone（O3）, nitrogen dioxide（NO2）, carbon monoxide（CO） and meteorological parameters were measured at a traffic junction（78°2′ E and 27°11′ N） in Agra, India from January 2012 to December 2012. Temporal analysis of pollutants suggests that annual average mixing ratios of tropospheric pollutants were： O3— 22.97 ± 23.36 ppbv,NO2— 19.84 ± 16.71 ppb v and CO — 0.91 ± 0.86 ppm v, with seasonal variations of O3 having maximum mixing ratio during summer season（32.41 ± 19.31 ppbv）, whereas lowest was found in post-monsoon season（8.74 ± 3.8 ppbv）. O3 precursors： NO2 and CO, showed inverse relationship with O3. Seasonal variation and high O3 episodes during summer are associated with meteorological parameters such as high solar radiation, atmospheric temperature and transboundary transport. The interdependence of these variables showed a link between the daytime mixing ratios of O3 with the nighttime level of NO2. The mixing ratios of CO and NO2 showed tight correlations, which confirms the influence of vehicular emissions combined with other anthropogenic activities due to office/working hours, shallowing, and widening of boundary layer. FLEXTRA backward trajectories for the O3 episode days clearly indicate the transport from the NW and W to S/SE and SW direction at Agra in different seasons.

Anthrax: A disease of biowarfare and public health importance

Bioterrorism has received a lot of attention in the first decade of this century. Biological agents are considered attractive weapons for bioterrorism as these are easy to obtain, comparatively inexpensive to produce and exhibit widespread fear and panic than the actual potential of physical damage. Bacillus anthracis(B. anthracis), the etiologic agent of anthrax is a Gram positive, spore forming, non-motile bacterium. This is supposed to be one of the most potent BW agents because its spores are extremely resistant to natural conditions and can survive for several decades in the environment. *** spores enter the body through skin lesion(cutaneous anthrax), lungs(pulmonary anthrax), or gastrointestinal route(gastrointestinal anthrax) and germinate, giving rise to the vegetative form. Anthrax is a concern of public health also in many countries where agriculture is the main source of income including India. Anthrax has been associated with human history for a very long time and regained its popularity after Sept 2001 incidence in United States. The present review article describes the history, biology, life cycle, pathogenicity, virulence, epidemiology and potential of B. anthracis as biological weapon.

Comprehensive studies on dielectric properties of p-methoxy benzylidene p-decyl aniline with function of temperature and frequency in planar geometry: A potential nematic liquid crystal for display devices

The dielectric properties of the nematic mesophase, p-methoxy benzylidene p-decyl aniline(MBDA), measured in planar geometry with a function of frequency and temperature are investigated in detail. The complex dielectric permittivity(ε' and ε'') is also studied at a bias voltage of 10 v for planar aligned sample cell of nematic mesophase. The dielectric permittivity with bias voltage attains a higher(> 2 times) value than that without bias voltage at a temperature of 56℃,which is due to the fact that the linking group of nematic molecules is internally interacted with an applied bias *** is supported by observing an enhanced dielectric permittivity of nematic liquid crystal(LC) in the presence of bias voltage, which can be fully explained as the increasing of the corresponding dipole moment. The dielectric relaxation behaviors of nematic LC are also demonstrated for planar aligned sample cell. The remarkable results are observed that the relaxation frequency shifts into low frequency region with the increase of the bias voltage applied to the planar aligned sample cells. The dielectric relaxation spectra are fitted by Cole–Cole nonlinear curve fitting for nematic mesophase in order to determine the dielectric strength.

Nanostructured porous polyaniline(PANI)coated carbon cloth(CC)as electrodes for flexible supercapacitor device

Nanostructured porous polyaniline(PANI)has been synthesized and coated simultaneously on a highly flexible and conductive carbon cloth(CC)substrate using a simple in-situ chemical oxidative polymerization *** coated CC(PANI-CC)based flexible electrodes were further used for the fabrication of flexible supercapacitor *** the comparison purpose,pure PANI has also been synthesized and tested for its electrochemical *** energy storage capacity of PANI and PANI–CC composite was investigated using electrochemical techniques like Cv,GCD,and EIS in a potential range from 0 to 0.8 v in 1 M H_(2)SO_(4)***-CC flexible electrodes exhibited the highest specific capacitance of 691 F/g;whereas,pure PANI could only achieve 575 F/g of specific capacitance at 1 A/*** also exhibited outstanding cyclic stability by recollecting 94%of its initial capacitance after 2000 GCD *** actual implementation,a flexible supercapacitor device has been fabricated using stainless steel sheets and PANI-CC flexile *** energy storage performance of the PANI-CC flexible supercapacitor device was tested at several bending angles,which resulted in 72%of capacitance retention at a maximum bending angle of 140°compared to the capacitance obtained at an angle 0°(flat state).PANI-CC exhibited improved electrochemical performance than pure PANI due to the synergistic effect between PANI and ***,CC helped in enhancing the conductivity and stability;whereas,PANI boosted the capacitance owing to its excellent porosity and fast pseudocapacitive charge storage response.
