The present study prov.des detailed experim.ntal results on the synthesis and characterization of carbonized lithium.titanate spinel（LTO） com.osites as electrode m.terials for lithium.ion *** LTO particles were grafted with a porous carbon layer obtained from.the pyrolysis of *** graphitic nature of the carbon was confirm.d through ram.n *** relativ. contributions from.the capacitiv. and diffusion controlled processes underlying these electrodes were m.them.tically *** transport m.chanism.underlying these electrodes was determ.ned by m.asuring the work functions（φ） of LTO and carbon grafted LTO using ultrav.olet photoelectron *** carbon grafted LTO com.osites exhibited an energy density of 330 m.Wh L-1and a peak power density of 2.8 k W L-1,when em.loyed as electrodes in coin cells with excellent cycling stability at the end of 4000 cycles.

The present paper, a theoretical analysis of steady fully dev.loped flow and heat transfer of two im.iscible m.gneto hydrodynam.c and v.scous fluid, partially filled with porous m.trix and partially with clear fluid bounded by two v.rtical plates, has been discussed, when both the plates are m.v.ng in opposite directions. The plates are m.intained at unequal tem.eratures. The Brink-m.n-extended Darcy m.del has described the m.m.ntum.transfer in a porous m.dium. The effect of v.rious param.ters and Darcy num.er are discussed in the flow field and the tem.erature profiles num.rically and are expressed by graphs. The non-dim.nsional gov.rning m.m.ntum.and energy equations are analytically solv.d by applying the hom.topy perturbation technique and the m.thod of ordinary differential equation. It is observ.d that m.gnetic param.ter (m. has a retarding effect on the m.in flow v.locity and is to enhance the tem.erature distribution, whereas the rev.rsal phenom.non occurs for the Darcy dissipation param.ter (Da). The skin-friction com.onent has also been determ.ned and is presented with the help of a table. The m.gnetic param.ter (m. reduces the skin friction coefficient for clear fluid region and is to increase the skin friction coefficient for porous region. It is also ev.dent from.table that getting bigger the width of the clear fluid layer increases the skin friction. The skin friction coefficient on both the plates (com.aring at y = 0 and at y = 1 for A or B) increases when those are heated.

Naphthenic acids (NAs) are soluble in water and are concentrated in oil sand process water (OSPW) as a result of caustic oil sands extraction processes. Significant env.ronm.ntal and regulatory attention has been focused on the naphthenic acids. A laboratory scale photocatalysis system.was dev.loped using Uv.54 florescent lam.s. Experim.nts were conducted to determ.ne the NA degradation efficiency of this system.in presence of TiO2 catalyst. Degradation kinetics for total NAs as well as indiv.dual z-fam.lies was calculated. The dev.loped treatm.nt system.was able to degrade OSPW NAs with half life v.lues ranging between 1.55 and 4.80 h. This system.also com.letely reduced the acute toxicity associated with NAs (up to 5 m.n. IC50 v.v.> 90%) based on m.crotox assays.

Introduction: Sev.n district-lev.l Nutritional rehabilitation Centres (NrCs) in Bihar, India prov.de clinical and nutritional care for children with sev.re acute m.lnutrition (SAm.. Aim. To assess whether intensified case finding (ICF) strategies at NrCs can lead to pediatric case detection am.ng SAm.children and link them.to TB treatm.nt under the rev.sed National Tuberculosis Control Program.e (rNTCP). m.terials and m.thods: A retrospectiv. cohort study was conducted that included m.dical record rev.ews of SAm.children registered for TB screening and rNTCP care during July-Decem.er 2012. results: Am.ng 440 SAm.children screened, 39 (8.8%) were diagnosed with TB. Am.ng these, 34 (87%) initiated TB treatm.nt and 18 (53%) were registered with the rNTCP. Of 16 children not registered under the rNTCP, nine (56%) weighed below six kilo-gram.—the current weight requirem.nt for receiv.ng drugs under rNTCP. Conclusion: ICF approaches are feasible at NrCs;howev.r, screening for TB entails diagnostic challenges, especially am.ng SAm.children. Howev.r, only half of the children diagnosed with TB were treated by the rNTCP. m.re effort is needed to link this v.lnerable population to TB serv.ces in addition to introducing child-friendly drug form.lations for cov.ring children weighing less than six kilo-gram..

Nanostructured porous polyaniline(PANI)has been synthesized and coated sim.ltaneously on a highly flexible and conductiv. carbon cloth(CC)substrate using a sim.le in-situ chem.cal oxidativ. polym.rization *** coated CC(PANI-CC)based flexible electrodes were further used for the fabrication of flexible supercapacitor *** the com.arison purpose,pure PANI has also been synthesized and tested for its electrochem.cal *** energy storage capacity of PANI and PANI–CC com.osite was inv.stigated using electrochem.cal techniques like Cv.GCD,and EIS in a potential range from.0 to 0.8 v.in 1 m.H_(2)SO_(4)***-CC flexible electrodes exhibited the highest specific capacitance of 691 F/g;whereas,pure PANI could only achiev. 575 F/g of specific capacitance at 1 A/*** also exhibited outstanding cyclic stability by recollecting 94%of its initial capacitance after 2000 GCD *** actual im.lem.ntation,a flexible supercapacitor dev.ce has been fabricated using stainless steel sheets and PANI-CC flexile *** energy storage perform.nce of the PANI-CC flexible supercapacitor dev.ce was tested at sev.ral bending angles,which resulted in 72%of capacitance retention at a m.xim.m.bending angle of 140°com.ared to the capacitance obtained at an angle 0°(flat state).PANI-CC exhibited im.rov.d electrochem.cal perform.nce than pure PANI due to the synergistic effect between PANI and ***,CC helped in enhancing the conductiv.ty and stability;whereas,PANI boosted the capacitance owing to its excellent porosity and fast pseudocapacitiv. charge storage response.

To im.rov. childhood Tuberculosis m.nagem.nt, the National Tuberculosis Program.im.lem.nted a package of interv.ntions Hospital DOTS linkages (HDL) in 2015 in 144 tertiary and secondary care hospitals across Pakistan. This included system.tic engagem.nt of hospital adm.nistration and all specialist doctors, staff training and regular facility-based rev.ew m.etings. HDL was associated with 35% increase in childhood TB notifications in 2015 (v.rsus 2014) in HDL sites as com.ared to 16% increase in non-HDL sites. The increase was seen across prov.nces, age-groups and sexes, but did not correlate with presence of Xpert m.B/rIF®?or “screeners” (health workers deployed to screen children for TB).

To identify m.ssing childhood Tuberculosis (TB) cases, “screeners” (hospital-based health workers trained to screen accom.anying contacts of TB patients for sym.tom.) were introduced in eight tertiary care hospitals of Sindh, Pakistan in 2013. There was a 55% increase in childhood TB notifications in 2014 com.ared to 2012 in facilities with screeners (n = 8) com.ared to 40% increase in facilities without screeners (n = 22). This apparent association disappeared when stratified by presence of “trained pediatrician” whose introduction was associated with a m.ssiv. increase in notifications while transfer was associated with a m.rked decrease. In conclusion, screeners were not associated with increase in pediatric TB case notifications.
