Assessment of water quality suitability for agriculture in a potentially leachate-contaminated region

Dump sites pose a significant threat to groundwater resources due to the possibility of leachate leakage into the *** study investigated the impact of leachate on groundwater quality in the southwest region of Zanjan City,Iran,where groundwater is utilized for drinking,agricultural,and industrial *** analyzed 18 parameters of dump site leachate,including physicochemical,heavy metals,and bacterial properties,alongside 13 groundwater *** was conducted twice,in November 2020 and June 2021,within a five-kilometer radius of the Zanjan dump *** utilized the Leachate Pollution Index(LPI)to evaluate potential groundwater contamination by leachate leakage from nearby ***,due to the predominant agricultural activities in the study area,various indices were employed to assess groundwater quality for agricultural purposes,such as Sodium Adsorption Ratio(SAR),Soluble Sodium Index(SSI),Kelly Ratio(KR),and Permeability Index(PI).Our analysis revealed no observed contamination related to leachate in the study area according to the LPI ***,with the persistent pollution threat,implementing sanitary measures at the dump site is crucial to prevent potential impacts on groundwater ***,the assessment of groundwater quality adequacy for irrigation yielded satisfactory results for SAR,KR,and PI ***,during both the dry(November 2020)and wet seasons(June 2021),the SSP index indicated that 80%of the samples were not classified as excellent,suggesting groundwater may not be suitable for ***,our qualitative study highlights the significant impact of the dry season on groundwater quality in the study area,attributed to elevated concentration levels of the investigated parameters within groundwater sources during the dry season.

Characterization of aerodynamic performance of wind-lens turbine using high-fidelity CFD simulations

Wind-lens turbines(WLTs)exhibit the prospect of a higher output power and more suitability for urban areas in comparison to bare wind *** wind-lens typically comprises a diffuser shroud coupled with a flange appended to the exit periphery of the ***-lenses can boost the velocity of the incoming wind through the turbine rotor owing to the creation of a lowpressure zone downstream the flanged *** this paper,the aerodynamic performance of the wind-lens is computationally assessed using high-fidelity transient CFD simulations for shrouds with different profiles,aiming to assess the effect of change of some design parameters such as length,area ratio and flange height of the diffuser shroud on the power *** power coefficient(Cp)is calculated by solving the URANS equations with the aid of the SST k–ω***,comparisons with experimental data for validation are accomplished to prove that the proposed methodology could be able to precisely predict the aerodynamic behavior of the windlens *** results affirm that wind-lens with cycloidal profile yield an augmentation of about 58%increase in power coefficient compared to bare wind turbine of the same rotor *** is also emphasized that diffusers(cycloid type)of small length could achieve a twice increase in power coefficient while maintaining large flange heights.

Properties of n-type SnO_2 semiconductor prepared by spray ultrasonic technique for photovoltaic applications

Transparent conducting n-type SnO2 semiconductor films were fabricated by employing an inexpensive, simplified spray ultrasonic technique using an ultrasonic generator at deferent substrate temperatures （300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 ℃）. The structural studies reveal that the SnO2 films are polycrystalline at 350,400, 450, 500 ℃ with preferential orientation along the （200） and （101） planes, and amorphous at 300 ℃. The crystallite size of the films was found to be in the range of 20.9-72.2 nm. The optical transmittance in the visible range and the optical band gap are 80% and 3.9 eV respectively. The films thicknesses were varied between 466 and 1840 nm. The resistivity was found between 1.6 and 4 × 10^-2 Ω.cm. This simplified ultrasonic spray technique may be considered as a promising alternative to a conventional spray for the massive production of economic SnO2 films for solar cells, sensors and opto-electronic applications.

Films surface temperature calculation during growth by sputtering technique

A calculation of film surface temperature during thin films growth by sputtering technique is proposed. The calculation procedure is based on the conversion into heat of the total flux energy of species impinging the film surface during growth. The results indicate that the film＇s surface temperature depends drastically on material substrate thermal conductivity and thickness on one hand, and the plasma conditions namely the discharge power on the other. The predicted film surface temperatures were used to explain the microstructure evolution of hydro- genated amorphous silicon （a-Si：h） thin films deposited by reactive radio frequency （RF） sputtering on different substrates.

Background In this research the symptom improvement of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADhD) of children was assessed by oral vitamin D administration in Tabriz,*** In this double-blind,randomized clinical trials,96 children (2-18 years) were enrolled to placebo and vitamin D *** took vitamin D pearl (50,000 IU/week) or placebo for 6 ***,who had the change in methylphenidate dosage and received any anticonvulsants and corticosteroids were excluded from the *** symptoms were diagnosed by Conners parent rating scale (CPRS) test at baseline and after *** Conners divided into inattention (IA),hyperactivity/impulsivity (h/I) and combination type (C) *** D serum level was assessed at baseline and after 8 weeks in both *** The differences between CPRS and its subscales were not significant at baseline (P > 0.05).The Conners IA score was decreased in vitamin D group (P h age and baseline values).ADhD Conners and all subscale scores reduced remarkably after intervention in patients with insufficient level of vitamin D compared to placebo (P hD symptoms with a particular effect on inattention *** addition,symptoms related to all subscales were improved remarkably in patients with insufficient level of vitamin *** D treatment in children with ADhD could be considered due to the expand benefit of vitamin D in body.

Solution flow rate influence on ZnS thin films properties grown by ultrasonic spray for optoelectronic application

The aim of this work is to investigate the dependence of Zn S thin films structural and optical properties with the solution flow rate during the deposition using an ultrasonic spray method. The solution flow rate ranged from 10 to 50 m L/h and the substrate temperature was maintained at 450 °C. The effect of the solution flow rate on the properties of Zn S thin films was investigated by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, optical transmittance spectroscopy（UV–V） and the four-point method. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the deposited material was pure zinc sulphide, it has a cubic sphalerite structure with preferential orientation along the（111） direction. The grain size values were calculated and found to be between 38 to 82 *** analysis revealed that the deposited thin films have good adherence to the substrate surfaces, are homogeneous and have high density. The average transmission of all films is up more than 65% in the range wavelength from 200 to 1100 nm and their band gap energy values were found between 3.5–3.92 e V. The obtained film thickness varies from 390 to 1040 nm. Moreover, the electric resistivity of the deposited films increases with the increasing of the solution flow rate between 3.51 × 10^5 and 11 × 10^5 Ω·cm.

Objective:To generate life table characteristics for the dengue vector Aedes albopictus(A. albopictus) under uncontrolled conditions,incorporating both the aquatic and the adult stages. Alkyl chlorides are robust precursors to carbon radicals;however,their relative inertness has hampered their practical *** modern photochemical strategies have greatly enhanced the utility of alkyl chlorides as radical precursors,these methods often depend on strongly reducing conditions leading to unproductive side ***,we report a catalytic radical generation from 1°,2°,and 3°unactivated alkyl chlorides with zirconocene and photoredox catalysis,which enables both hydrogenation and borylation on a range of structurally complex *** mild zirconocene-catalyzed protocol shows that zirconium can render the C−Cl bond cleavage more exergonic and can lower the activation energy of the transition state,amplifying the ability of metallocenes toward halogen atom transfer.

Objective:To study the aphrodisiac potential of Polyalthia(P.)bullata in ***:In this study,testosterone,as an indicator of the aphrodisiac potential of ***,was investigated for its release from TM3 Leydig cells grown in vitro and in 4 fowls given capsules containing *** at a dose of 10 mg in each capsule twice a day,for 50 *** the latter in vivo evaluation,mating behaviours were additionally determined after the treated fowls were released to the individual hens,and their testes and liver were dissected for histological *** drawn from the fowls was assessed for any changes in diagnostic ***:In the in vitro test(TM3 Leydig cells),*** was able to increase testosterone to 0.48 nmol/L within 72 h of incubation,compared to the untreated control with only 0.18 nmol/L,i.e.,an increase of 170%.In the in vivo test,outcomes in the fowls dosed with *** showed similar positive elevations of testosterone to(9.72±1.10)nmol/L in comparison to the controls that showed a level of only(4.05±0.84)nmol/*** frequencies of mating behaviours were observed(wing flapping,body shakes,crowing and beak pecking)to be 23 counts for the test compared to only 15 for the control *** examination of the male reproductive organs provided evidence of testosterone boosting based on an observable increase in the activity at the seminiferous tubules of testis tissues without any damaging effects,compared to the *** the nine diagnostic blood parameters assessed,including alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,and gamma glutamyltransferase,none was remarkably elevated compared to the *** histological changes in the liver were not severe and mainly consisted of only localized moderate but recoverable obstructions and swellings of the vessels and ***:*** is able to boost testosterone both in vitro and in vivo,with no acute toxicities.
