CO2adsorption on the surface of hydrotalcite-derived mixed oxide catalysts was investigated under low pressure glow discharge plasma in operando conditions via FT-Ir *** catalysts were promoted with various transition metal species(Ce, Fe, La, Zr) to influence their physico-chemical *** and Zr species were successfully incorporated into hydrotalcite brucite *** calcination formed a single phase with Ni(Mg, Al)O mixed oxide, while La and Ce species formed separate *** had a consequence in the distribution of surface basic sites as well as in the affinity to CO produced upon CO2dissociation in *** treatment activated the surface of prepared materials and changed their properties via the generation of strong basic sites associated with low coordinated surface oxygen ***, the CO2adsorption capacity of prepared materials increased after plasma treatment.

To elucidate the dynamics of aluminium(Al),an element potentially toxic and strongly aff ected by acidifi cation processes,in soils,we selected two regions that were similar in relief,soil types,and vegetation cover but diff ered markedly in their history of acid precipitation:the JizerskéMountains(anthropogenically acidifi ed)and the NovohradskéMountains(naturally acidifi ed)in the Czech *** levels of Al forms(exchangeable and organically bound)associated with diff erent environmental impacts were measured and univalent,divalent and trivalent Al species were quantifi ed using HPLC/*** and organically bound Al concentrations were higher in the anthropogenically acidifi ed *** the concentrations of the leastdangerous species,the univalent,in organic soil horizons were similar for both *** concentrations of exchangeable Al forms were correlated with Ca concentrations and with pH in the organic *** known relationship of Al with soil pH was stronger in the mineral *** of exchangeable Al forms concentrations with sulphur concentrations or even more with the sulphur calcium molar ratio were found only in the JizerskéMountains,not in the Novohradské.Generally,the obtained results support the hypothesis that mechanisms diff ered between natural and anthropogenic acidifi cation.

AIM:To detect retinal microvascular variations in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome ***:This prospective,observational case-control study included healthy controls and patients with mild,moderate,and severe obstructive sleep apnea *** parameters,foveal avascular area,and flow areas in macula-centered,6.00×6.00 mm2 scan size optical coherence tomography angiography images were ***:The control group had the highest whole image,parafoveal,and perifoveal vessel density among the groups in both superficial and the deep capillary plexus(all Prapid eye movement sleep apnoea-hypopnoea index was reversely correlated with whole(rho=-0.195,P=0.034),parafoveal(rho=-0.242,P=0.008),perifoveal(rho=-0.187,P=0.045)vessel density in the superficial capillary plexus,and whole(rho=-0.186,P=0.046),parafoveal(rho=-0.260,P=0.004),perifoveal(rho=-0.189,P=0.043)vessel density in the deep capillary plexus,though the mean and non-rapid eye movement sleep apnoeahypopnoea index related with only parafoveal vessel density in the superficial capillary plexus(rho=-0.213,P=0.020;rho=-0.191,P=0.038)and the deep capillary plexus(rho=-0.254,P=0.005;rho=-0.194,P=0.035).CONCLUSION:This study shows decreased vessel density and its reverse correlation with the apnoea-hypopnoea index in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

Combined Chemical and Mineralogical Evidence for Heavy Metal Binding in Mining- and Smelting-Affected Alluvial Soils

The binding of metallic contaminants （Pb, Cd, and Zn） and As on soil constituents was studied on four highly contaxninated alluvial soil profiles from the mining/smelting district of Pribram （Czech republic） using a combination of mineralogical and chemical methods. Sequential extraction analysis （SEA） was supplemented by mineralogical investigation of both bulk samples and heavy mineral fractions using X-ray diffraction analysis （XrD） and scanning electron microscopy with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer （SEM/EDS）. The mineralogy of Fe and Mn oxides was studied by voltammetry of microparticles （VMP） and diffuse reflectance spectrometry （DrS）. Zinc and Pb were predominantly bound in the reducible fraction attributed to Fe oxides and Mn oxides （mainly birnessite, Na4Mn14O27.9H2O）, which were detected in soils by XrD and SEM/EDS. In contrast, Cd was the most mobile contaminant and was predominantly present in the exchangeable fraction. Arsenic was bound to the residual and reducible fractions （corresponding to Fe oxides or to unidentified Fe-Pb arsenates）. SEM/EDS observations indicate the predominant affinity of Pb for Mn oxides, and to a lesser extent, for Fe oxides. Thus, a more suitable SEA procedure should be used for these mining-affected soils to distinguish between the contaminant fraction bound to Mn oxides and Fe oxides.

AIM To investigate the prognostic effect of a delayed interval between neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy(CrT) and surgery in locally advanced rectal *** We evaluated 87 patients with locally advanced mid-or distal rectal cancer undergoing total mesorectal excision following an interval period after neoadjuvant CrT at ?i?li Hamidiye Etfal Training and research Hospital,Istanbul between January 2009 and January *** were divided into two groups according to the intervalbefore surgery: roup Ⅰ) and ≥ 8 wk(group Ⅱ).Data related to patients,cancer characteristics and pathological examination were collected and *** When the distribution of timing between group Ⅰ(n = 45) and group Ⅱ(n = 42) was viewed,comparison of interval periods(median ± SD) of groups showed a significant difference of as 5 ± 1.28 wk in group Ⅰ and 10.1 ± 2.2 wk in group Ⅱ(P riod for all patients was 34.5(9.9-81) *** Ⅱ had significantly higher rates of pathological complete response(p Cr) than group Ⅰ had(19% vs 8.9%,P = 0.002).rate of tumor regression grade(TrG) poor response was 44.4% in group Ⅰ and 9.5% in group Ⅱ(P r pathological response was associated with worse disease-free survival(P = 0.009).The interval time did not show any association with local recurrence(P = 0.79).CONCLUSION Delaying the neoadjuvant CrT-surgery interval may provide nodal down-staging,improve p Cr rate,and decrease the rate of TrG poor response.

基于内蒙古乌达下二叠统太原组火山凝灰岩中保存的标本对窄楔叶Sphenophyllum angustifolium(Germar)Goeppert的形态特征和生态习性进行探讨。标本异叶性明显,不同等级的茎上保存钩状线形叶、二裂叶、三裂叶和四裂叶。孢子叶穗着生于分枝顶端,每轮大约12片孢子叶,每片孢子叶近轴面上直接着生1个孢子囊,未发现孢囊柄的结构。本文对该植物的气生部分进行初步复原。根据本文材料以及已报道的楔叶属化石材料的形态学、解剖学特征和埋藏学的分析,认为该属植物可能是一种可以直立生长的草本植物,生活在三角洲平原、泛滥盆地或岸后湖泊、成煤沼泽及其边缘,适应轻度干旱至淹水环境。根据***(Germar)Goeppert深裂的叶型和表皮细胞特征,推测其可能生活在较长期淹水环境,属于湿性中生植物至湿性植物。

Patient-Controlled Sedation and Analgesia with Propofol and Alfentanil:A Preliminary Safety Evaluation Prior to Use of Non-Anaesthesiology Doctors

Background: The aim was to evaluate safety aspects of patient-controlled sedation and analgesia (PCS) for extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) and PCS to be handled by non-anaesthesiology doctors. Methods: Thirty-four ASA I-III patients used PCS with propofol and alfentanil for ESWL in this interventional study. Strict safety limits were defined regarding respiratory rate (rr), heart rate (Hr), mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), oxygen saturation from pulse oximetry (SpO2), and transcutaneous partial pressures of oxygen (PtcO2) and carbon dioxide (PtcCO2). The patients' levels of consciousness was graded on a five-point scale and monitored with Bispectral Index (BIS). A nurse anaesthetist was supervising the procedure but was instructed to intervene only if safety limits were breached. No supplementary oxygen was given. results: All patients responded to verbal stimuli during treatment. Cardiovascular stability was maintained, but respiratory variables were affected. Two patients with SpO2 2 ≥ 6.5 kPa). In 18 patients hypoxaemia was indicated as PtcO2 ≤ 8.0 kPa. All these 18 patients were given supplementary oxygen. There was no correlation between dose of drugs, age, weight or any vital variable. The 34 patients would use PCS again in the case of future treatment. Conclusions: During ESWL treatment PCS can be used with good patients’ satisfaction, and maintained cardiovascular stability, but PCS had an indisputable effect on pulmonary function with hypoxemia (resulting in need for supplementary oxygen) or hypercarbia. The person in charge of PCS must therefore be trained to perform according to the guidelines for sedation and/or analgesia by non-anaesthesiology doctors.

The lower reaches of the Zarafshan river are one of the most important watersheds in western Uzbekistan. Based on the research conducted in the lower reaches of the Zarafshan river and the lower Zarafshan watersheds, as well as the analysis of the literature on ichthyofauna of the region, it was determined that currently there are 6 species and 31 species of fish belonging to 12 families.
