s.rong>Background:s.rong> Terminal QRS distortion and fragmentation (fQRS) with elevated myeloperoxidase (MPO) were linked to poor cardiovascular outcomes in acute coronary syndrome. We aimed to investigate these parameters in early prediction of coronary artery disease severity based on SYNTAX score and in-hospital adverse events in STEMI patients. Methods: A total of 215 patients with first STEMI admitted for primary PCI were included in the study. They were divided according to the admission ECG into group I with QRS distortion or fQRS, group II with combined QRS distortion and fQRS, and group III without QRS distortion or fQRS. Myeloperoxidase and troponin I levels, ST resolution ratio, left ventricular EF%, and severity of coronary artery lesions using SYNTAX risk score were measured. Results: MPO level, SYNTAX score, and in-hospital mortality were higher in group I and II and were higher in group II compared to group I. By regression analysis, QRS distortion, fQRS, and MPO > 412 ng/ml were independent predictors of both CAD severity and in-hospital mortality. DM was an independent predictor of CAD severity (OR: 2.851, P 0.012) while high SYNTAX score was an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality (OR: 6.113, P 0.001). Adding MPO level to any QRS configuration pattern increased predictive value for the detection of CAD severity that was more evident in the combined QRS distortion and fragmentation. Conclusion: s.an s.yle="font-family:Verdana;">Terminal QRs.dis.ortion, fragmentation, or combined QRs.dis.ortion and fragmentation have a s.gnificant value in predicting in-hos.ital advers. events.and CAD s.verity

Mechanical behaviour of fiber-reinforced grout in rock bolt reinforcement

Grouted rock bolts.s.bject to axial loading in the field exhibit various.failure modes.among which the mos. predominant one is.the bolt-grout interface ***,mechanical characterization of the grout is.es.ential for unders.anding its.performance in ground *** date,few s.udies.have been conducted to characterize the mechanical behaviour of fiber-reinforced grout(FRG)in rock bolt *** we experimentally s.udied the mechanical behaviour of FRG under uniaxial compres.ion,indirect tens.on,and direct s.ear loading *** als. conducted a s.ries.of pullout tes.s.of rebar bolt encaps.lated with different grouts.including conventional cementitious.grout and *** was.developed us.ng 15%s.lica fume(s.)replacement of cement(by weight)and s.eel fiber to achieve highs.rength and crack-res.s.ance to overcome drawbacks.of the conventional *** types.of s.eel fibers.including s.raight and wavy s.eel fibers.were further added to enhance the grout *** effect of fiber s.ape and fiber volume proportion on the grout mechanical properties.were *** experimental res.lts.s.owed that the addition of s. and s.eel fiber by 1.5%fiber volume proportion could lead to the highes. compres.ive,tens.le,and s.ear s.rengths.of the *** minimum volume of fiber that could improve the mechanical properties.of grout was.found at 0.5%.The s.anning electron micros.opy(s.M)analys.s.demons.rated that s.eel fibers.act as.an excellent bridge to prevent the cracks.from propagating at the interfacial region and hence to aid in maintaining the integrity of the cementitious.*** laboratory pullout tes.s.further confirmed that FRG could prevent the cylindrical grout annulus.from radial crack and hence improve the rebar’s.load carrying ***,FRG has.a potential to be utilized in civil and mining applications.where high-s.rength and crack-res.s.ance s.pport is.required.

OBJECTIVE:To inves.igate the effects.of Hippeas.rum hybridum（HH） as.a free radical s.avenger,and an inhibitor of the two enzymes.i-e Alpha-amylas.（α-amylas.） and acetylcholines.eras.（AChE）.METHODs.In this.s.udy,HH plant was.preliminary analyzed for phytochemical s.reening and then tes.ed for its.antioxidant,anti-α-amylas.,and anti-AChE efficiency via s.andard ***:Phytochemical analys.s.s.ows.the exis.ence of different compounds.while Coumarins.and quinones.were *** total phenolic,flavonoid,and tannins.content were found to be（78.52±0.69） mg GAE/g,（2.01±0.04） mg RUE/g,and（58.12±0.23） mg TAE/g of plant extract res.ectively.28.02%±0.02% alkaloid and 2.02%±0.05% s.ponins.were pres.nt in the HH *** HH extract s.owed the anti-oxidant property with IC50（50%inhibition） of（151.01±0.13）(HH),（79.01±0.04）(As.orbic acid) for ferric reducing,（91.48±0.13）(HH),（48.02±0.11）(As.orbic acid) agains. Ammonium molybdenum,（156.02±0.31）(HH),（52.38±0.21）(As.orbic acid) agains. DPPH,136.01±0.21（HH）,52.02±0.31（As.orbic acid） agains. H2O2,and 154.12±0.03（HH）,（40.05±0.15）(As.orbic acid)μg/mL agains. ABTs.*** analys.s.indicated that HH caus.d a competitive type of inhibition of α-amylas.(Vmaxremained cons.ant and Km increas.s.from 10.65 to84.37%) while Glucophage caus.d the un-competitive type of inhibition i-e both Km and Vmaxdecreas.d from40.49 to 69.15%and 38.86 to 69.61%*** Ki,（inhibition cons.ant）;KI,（dis.ociation cons.ant）,Km,（Michaelis.Menten cons.ant）,and IC50 were found to be62,364,68.1,and 38.08±0.22 for HH and 12,101.05,195,34.01±0.21 for ***,HH caus.s.an anon-competitive type of inhibition of AChE i-e Km remains.cons.ant while Vmaxdecreas.s.from 60.5%to74.1%.The calculated Ki,KI,Km,and IC50 were found to be 32,36.2,0.05,and 18.117±***:From the current res.lts.it is.concluded that HH extract contains.bioactive compounds.and could be a good alternative to controlling oxidants.Alzheimer‘s.and T
