New Colorimetric Method for Lipases Activity Assay in Microbial Media

A simple, rapid and precise method has been developed for determination of lipase activity in microbial media. The method is based on using phenyl acetate as substrate for lipase and determination of liberated phenol by Folin Ciocalteu reagent. Reaction mixture containing substrate 2.4 ml of phenyl acetate 165 μM in Tris HCl buffer, 0.1 M and pH 7, with 1% (v/v) Triton X-100) and 0.1 ml lipase is incubated at 40?C during 10 minutes and the absorbance was measured at 750 nm. Linearity was observed in the concentration range 0-0.8 g/L lipase.

Hypospadias is one of the most common birth defects. However, its etiology remains largely unknown. Genetic and also intrauterine environmental factors have a principal role in causing familial hypospadias. Hypospadias repair is done through several techniques, one of which is Snodgrass technique which has many advantages. The 4 cousins underwent repair with no complications during 6 months follow up period. Methods: Urethroplasty using Snodgrass hypospadias repair of 4 cousins with positive parental consanguinity and absent family history of hypospadias. Results: 4 cousins underwent Snodgrass (Tubularized incised plate urethroplasty) with no complications after 6 months follow up. Conclusion: Although there is high heritability of hypospadias that also aggregates within second- and third-degree relatives, environmental factors may play a principal role in causing familial hypospadias. Hypospadias repair has a long learning curve. The continuous auditing should be done to improve the results.

Click reactions are not specific reactions, but they are a way of generating products that follow examples in nature by joining small moieties, with each other producing a huge molecule in a good yield. The mind of that reaction is used in biomolecules synthesis, pharmacological and various biometric applications. The first Click reaction is the Copper compounds-catalyzed reaction of an azide with an alkyne （CuAAC）, this copper-catalyzed ＂click＂ does not require legands on the metal but the metal oxides also can accelerate the reactions. For enhancement the products of Click reactions we were replacing the copper compounds in a classical reaction by the prepared nanocopper compound （NPs）. And measure the consumption of starting material. Behind the evolution is the catalytic effect of nanocopper compounding （NPs） on （H2O2）. Owing to the huge surface area of nanocopper compound （NPs）, it was found that： the （NPs） can speed up decomposition of H2O2, also can accelerate the classical click reaction.

Water shortage is the main problem facing any development in Egypt especially in the desert lands. River Nile is considered the main source of water in Egypt but its water covers only the area of flood plain where its tributaries do not reach to the desert. The desert fringes, west of El-Minia governorate, Egypt, are areas of natural expansion for agricultural, industrial, and civil activities. This implies an increasing demand for groundwater. A numerical groundwater model is one of the main tools used for assessment of the resource potential and prediction of future impact under different circumstances and stresses. In this paper, a transient groundwater flow model in the desert district west of El-Minia, Egypt, was developed. The conceptual model was built by analyzing the hydrogeological data and previous work. Steady state model of year 1990 was used to investigate and calibrate the parameters such as hydraulic conductivities, recharge and conductance of the surface water streams. The storage coefficients are calibrated by the transient model based on the available data observed from 1990 to 2013, which provides insights to understand the behavior of groundwater system in Quaternary Aquifer and to predict spatial-temporal distributions of groundwater levels and groundwater flow in responding to extraction of water. The calibrated transient model will be used to predict the impacts of desert development schemes and water resources management schemes on groundwater in the study area.

Background: The diverse modes in geographical locations, environmental factors, genetic and racial characteristics play a complex role in determining the pattern of neurological disorders worldwide. Determining the pattern of neurological disorders enables health policymakers to plan evidently for service, training, and research priorities. Few prevalence studies in neurology were conducted in Sudan. Methods: This is a retrospective hospital-based study that reviewed the medical records of patients who attended a Dedicated Neurology Clinic (DNC) in Omdurman, the national Capital of Sudan, for 24 months, from January 2016 to January 2018. This study aimed to determine the DNC pattern of neurological disorders as a representative subset prevalence in Sudan. Neurologists conducted the medical workup for diagnosis after at least two visits. All patients have ethically consented. Results: The total number of patients was 1050. Only 749 patients (71.3%) fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The mean age was 46.5 ± 1.9, and males were 45.3%. 72% were from the Capital. The presenting symptoms were headache (16.6%), seizures (11.5%), limbs weakness (11.2%), and lower percentages for other neurological symptoms. The commonest diagnoses were Stroke 12.4%, Epilepsy 9.3%, Primary Headache 8.8%, Movement Disorders 7.3%, Peripheral Neuropathy 6%, Dementia 4% Neuroinfections 1.4%, Demyelinating Disorders 2.6%, Spinal Spondylotic Radiculopathy 2.6% and 1.7% for Cerebral Venous Thrombosis. Conclusion: The data from Sudan-DNC showed that the most common neurological disorders descendingly were Stroke, Epilepsy, Headache, Movement Disorders, Peripheral Neuropathy, Dementia, Infections, Demyelinating Disorders, Spinal Spondylotic Radiculopathy, and Cerebral Venous Thrombosis. 海湾合作委员会(简称海合会)在处理中东地区问题发挥了不可忽视的作用。海湾合作委员会于1981年5月成立,是海湾地区的第一个区域性国际组织,包含了海湾地区的六个国家(科威特、阿联酋、巴林、阿曼、沙特阿拉伯和卡塔尔)目的在于维护海湾地区的安全。海合会在处理地区危机时发挥着不容低估的作用,所以海合会在不同事件中发挥的作用是值得研究的重要问题。本文从海合会的背景出发,通过分析海合会在处理具体事件中的举措,得出结论即海合会在解决地区问题时既有积极作用,又有其不可避免的消极作用,如果海合会没能成功解决这些问题,则会严重影响到海湾地区的安全与稳定。本文分绪论、正文、结语三部分,正文按照时间顺序安排章节,共设四章:海合会的建立与发展、第一次海湾战争、第二次海湾战争及也门危机处置。第一章,简单阐述了海湾地区的重要性、海合会的成立,分析了海合会的原则及机构,论述了海合会在处理地区危机中的思想及手段。第二章,阐述了第一次海湾战争。主要包括第一次海湾战争背景原因;海合会采取哪些措施解决该场战争;海合会是否成功解决该场战争。第三章,分析了第二次海湾战争。主要包括梳理分析第二次海湾战争的背景原因;分析海合会对该战争的立场;阐述海合会处理第二次海湾战争举措及作用。第四章,分析了也门危机。主要包括梳理分析也门危机的原因;探讨了海合会的处置方式;分析海合会未能解决该危机的原因。

BACkGROUND Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging has shown promise in the detection and quantification of hepatic fibrosis. In addition, the liver has numerous endogenous micro-RNAs(miRs) that play important roles in the regulation of biological processes such as cell proliferation and hepatic *** To assess diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and miRs in diagnosing and staging hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis *** This prospective study included 208 patients and 82 age-and sex-matched controls who underwent diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of the abdomen, miR profiling, and liver biopsy. Pathological scoring was classified according to the METAVIR scoring system. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and miR were calculated and correlated with pathological *** The ADC value decreased significantly with the progression of fibrosis, from controls(F0) to patients with early fibrosis(F1 and F2) to those with late fibrosis(F3 and F4)(median 1.92, 1.53, and 1.25 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s, respectively)(P = 0.001).The cut-off ADC value used to differentiate patients from controls was 1.83 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s with an area under the curve(AUC) of 0.992. Combining ADC and miR-200 b revealed the highest AUC(0.995) for differentiating patients from controls with an accuracy of 96.9%. The cut-off ADC used to differentiate early fibrosis from late fibrosis was 1.54 × 10^(-3) mm^2/s with an AUC of 0.866. The combination of ADC and miR-200 b revealed the best AUC(0.925) for differentiating early fibrosis from late fibrosis with an accuracy of 80.2%. The ADC correlated with miR-200 b(r =-0.61, P = 0.001), miR-21(r =-0.62, P = 0.001), and miR-29(r = 0.52,P = 0.001).CONCLUSION Combining ADC and miRs offers an alternative surrogate non-invasive diagnostic tool for diagnosing and staging hepatic fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis C.
